A Farming Family in the New World by CA Coffey

My book review today is on the book, A Farming Family in the New World. This book was sent to me to read and review. My comments on this book are my own. This is an interesting book on a man that moves to the new world to begin a new life. As a young man, Thomas Barnard traded five years of indentured service to receive free land in a new world. It seemed like a good thing but it cost him everything he had ever known.

The book tells of the difficulties experienced by these men that traveled for months to start over. Thomas earns his land and starts a family. Life was tragic in those days and Claudia describes the joys, loves, and horrors of life as she covers Thomas family through nine generations and five wars. This book is well written and well researched. I have never read any of CA's books before but it's obviously a book born of love and passion. I know this is a book that history lovers will find hard to put down. You may purchase this book at the address below.

This book is awesome and I look forward to the next book in the series. I love Dana's work, her books are always well written and full of action. She always weaves her faith throughout her stories. This book was one of my favorites, my only complaint about the book is I couldn't put the thing down.

The Bride Ship by Regina Scott

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical, The Bride Ship. This book is the first book in the Frontier Bachelors Series. I enjoyed this book and learned a lot from the story. I had heard of the Mercer Bells but didn't know exactly what all they went through. I can't imagine being that desperate to sign up for such an endeavor. I liked the whole story line, it was well written, and I loved the characters. Faith was a big part of the story and I love that. It was obviously well researched.

Allegra Banks Howard was widowed during the war. Now her mother-in-law had made her and her young daughter all but prisoners in their home and was trying to force her into marriage with her husband's cousin; in an effort to free herself from an unwanted marriage Allie signs up for the Mercer expedition to Seattle. She is determined to never marry again, to start a new life and to make it on her own.

Clay Howard was expected to take over the family business but left the city to find himself in the frontier. He had asked Allie to go with him but she had refused. He learned later that she had married his brother. Disowned by his family he is shocked to have his mother ask for his help to find Allie and bring her home. As he sets out to bring her home he finds himself caught up in the trip and very much in love with Allie again. Could he build a life with her in Seattle?

As their journey come close to an end they find other problems that are trying to force them apart. A great adventure you can buy it at the address below.

Danger in the Manger by Rachelle McCalla

My book review today is on the second book in the Love Inspired Suspense Novella, Twin Threat Christmas, Danger in the Manger, don't you love that name? These two books are dealing with an important issue that we are now dealing with in the United States, human trafficking. A horrible problem that should make parents turn to God to protect our children from these monsters. Don't let your children leave without praying for their protection. Rachelle does a great job on this subject, you need to read this story.

The first book was about Vanessa Jackson and her mysterious disappearance eight years ago, this story is about her twin sister Alyssa Jackson. Alyssa never understood why her sister would just disappear but she never gave up hope she was still alive although she was forced to declare her sister dead to deal with her grandfathers estate. Alyssa hears a car pull up but has learned that she sells more statues when she lets people look around her yard, but when she leaves her workshop no one is there. She is shocked to find a baby lying in the manger of her nativity. The T-shirt on the baby says if they do a DNA test on the baby they would find Alyssa to be the mother. The police officer that was with her when she read the shirt didn't believe the baby could be hers. She didn't know the first thing about babies.

Chris Jensen is investigating a drug ring and he's sure Alyssa is involved. Drugs had been found in some of her concrete statuary. He made a hourly driveby of her property so was close when she found the baby. It was obviously Vanessa's child and Chris felt bad about not being able to find the girl eight years ago. Chris stays and helps Alyssa care for the baby but after he leaves she takes the sleeping baby out to the workshop so she can finish the concrete she was unable to pour. Alyssa finishes her work but the baby begins to fuss so she rocks him and falls asleep.

Alyssa wakes to find a couple of men stuffing something in her still wet lamb molds. She calls Chris for help and the two of them investigate who was smuggling drugs in her work. They find her sister and return the baby to his mom but find themselves in serious trouble. Are the human traffickers the ones who are the drug smugglers or have they got more than one group out to kill them? A great journey that draws the two together but before they can have a life together they have to put an end to this evil.

One Silent Night by Rachelle McCalla

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense Novella, Twin Threat Christmas. Today I'm going to share my thoughts on the first story, One Silent Night. I do love Rachelle's books and I'm really concerned about human trafficking in the United States. Most Christians are upset about the subject but they don't realize it is a serious problem right here. They just think this happens in Europe and Asia but it's an epidemic in the Midwest. I have written a couple of books on the subject myself and only wish I could do more. Rachelle does a really good job on a touchy subject. It is a must read.

Vanessa Jackson was kidnapped by a human trafficking ring eight years ago and has been held as a prisoner ever since. Forced to marry her captor she now has three children and is forced to run for her life. Her husband is murdered by his boss and Vanessa is set up to take the fall. On the run with no place to go and no money, she hides the baby and then goes to the only place she has ever known happiness, a remote cabin in the woods her grandfather owned.

Eric Tomlin has come to his cabin with his sister. He had bought the cabin from Alyssa Jackson after the death of her grandfather. The cabin had been a place where he and the twins had grown up. Eric always felt close to Vanessa when he came here. Vanessa was the only woman he had ever loved but he had failed to tell her how he felt and then one day she just disappeared. Imagine how shocked he is when he is listening to a news report about a woman killing her husband and kidnapping her children and she looks just like Vanessa and then she walks in his door.

This couple must find evidence about the human trafficking ring in order for her to be free but as they search the men come after them. They must trust each other while leaning on God. A great story of God's love and restoration. You can purchase this book at the address below.

Her Holiday Family by Winnie Griggs

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical, Her Holiday Family. I enjoy the way Winnie writes. This book is one of the Texas Grooms Series and is a continuations of Lone Star Heiress and has many of the same characters. I always enjoy visiting the people from the previous book.

Deadly Holiday Reunion by Lenora Worth

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense book, Deadly Holiday Reunion. I love Lenora's books, she does awesome suspense and intrigues. This story is a wonderful example of her work. I especially love the way she weaves her faith in and out of the story like a tapestry. This book is a little on the dark side, it's dealing with a serious problem and she handles it well.

Texas Ranger Jake Cavanaugh is a widower desperate to find his young daughter. She has been kidnapped by a serial killer that Jake had dealt with years ago but thought was dead. Unable to handle the case on his own but determined not to call in all the law enforcement in the area he goes to the love of his life.

Former FBI Agent Ella Terrell had loved Jake her whole life but he refused to allow her to be an FBI agent, he wanted to protect her so she broke off the relationship and he married another. Five years ago they had been brought together by a serial killer that kidnapped her and held her hostage. Jake had found her and helped her back on her feet but Ella was so traumatized they went their separate ways. Now she live a quiet life with her grandparents next to the woods the killer had taken her to.

When Jake comes to her begging for help she can't turn him away. She must face her fears and the horror of her abduction in order to find the man who she had believed she had killed all those years ago. A story of traumatic pain, mental illness, and restoration. Some times it's hard to understand how God can allow bad thing happen to good people but then we live and an evil world and satan convinces people to do horrific things. God isn't in control, Adam gave that control to satan. Unless we give God the power to work in our lives there is nothing He can do. Prayer is so important in our fallen world. This book is excellent and you will want to get a copy. You can purchase it at the address below.

A Pony Express Christmas by Rhonda Gibson

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical, A Pony Express Christmas. This book was a great read. I love mail-order bride books. I don't know if I would have had the guts to do something like that but I love stories about women who do. I was always afraid I would end up alone. I'm not sure why but do you know that scripture in Job that says "that thing I feared most is upon me." Well even though I married young it has come to pass. My marriage lasted two and a half years and I have been alone for forty-six years, oh well. The book is well written, I enjoyed her characters, and the faith that was woven throughout the story.

Leah Hollister was forced into a mail-order marriage. Her future husband had sent her the money to come along with her young charge. Molly's parents had died in a cholera epidemic and the orphanage had put Molly's care in her hands until she could deliver her to her uncle in Colorado, just a few miles from where her betrothed lived. Upon there arrival she finds Molly's uncle and sends word to her fiance`of her arrival but hears nothing from him. She soon finds out he has died.

Jake  Bridges was left six years ago at the alter by the only woman he had loved. To add to insult to injury she married his brother. Heartbroken Jake leaves Texas and goes to Colorado. He is now a stock handler for the Pony Express and he loves his life here in Colorado but when his sweet little niece is brought to him he realizes he needs more than a room in the barn. He also realizes he is lacking in his ability to raise a little girl so in desperation he proposes to Leah but tells her it must be a marriage in name only. He can't give his heart to another woman to be walked on.

Jake's boss offers them a cabin and as Jake prepares a place for them to live he finds that he is drawn to the lovely young girl, now he wants desperately to win her heart. A great journey of two heartbroken lonely people who find true love in the most unexpected place. God always has a plan. I know you are going to want to get a copy of this book, you can purchase it at the address below.

Kelly's mission now is to help other military families so they don't have to go through what she went through. Special Ops Christmas by Susan Sleeman

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Holiday Defenders. This book is a novella so I am reviewing the book story by story. Special Ops Christmas is the second book of the novella. I just love Susan's book and this one is awesome although it's much to short. This book like all of her books is well written, full of adventure, and great characters. I also love the way she brings faith into her stories. God always has a plan, all we need to do is get out of his way.

Claire Reed is designing new training equipment that will save lives in the military. One of her prototypes and equipment specs were stolen but certain details were left out of the specifications with the project. Claire is the only one that has the answers that the thieves need to sell this prototype to our enemies. Now her life is on the line so the Army brings in a body guard to protect her and keep her from being abducted. They send in the one man that Claire loved but left to fulfill her drive to finish her fathers work.

Green Beret Travis Chapman was involved with Claire when they originally started plans on the simulated training program called CATS but when he declared himself to her she rejected him, now they were sending him into protect her. If Claire is in danger of abduction he has no choice but to save her. He will just shore up his heart so it will be safe from the beauty, right?.

A great book of dealing with rejection, betrayal, and second chance love. It a great read. You may purchase the book at the address below.

Mission: Christmas Rescue by Debby Giusti

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense book, Holiday Defenders but because this book is a novella I want to review it one story at a time, so today I will tell you about the story Mission: Christmas Rescue. Debby does an awesome job on suspense and intrigues and my only complaint on this story is how short it is. This story is well written, full of action and intrigue, and you will love her characters. Faith is evident in this entire story and I love that. She shows you that God always has a plan.

Elizabeth Tate's brother, Zack is an investigative reporter. When he gets involved in an investigation he puts his family in jeopardy. Elizabeth has been caring for his children since his wife died. He calls and tells her that someone is after them and he's sending her help. She won't like it but it's the only way. When her ex-boyfriend Nick shows up, shooters try to take them out. They flee for their lives.

U.S. Army Captain Nick Fontaine is home on a medical leave after being injured on his last deployment. Zack asks him to help his sister and the kids telling him to trust no one. The police are involved in what is going down. Nick promises to help them and keep them safe.

A story of lost love, hidden secrets, and a second chance with the love of their lives. A great journey for this heart broken couple. You will love this story. It's an excellent example of Debbie's work. You my purchase it at the address below.

Down to the Wire by Laura Scott

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Down to the Wire. This is the second book in the SWAT: Top Cop Series. I have loved this series and hope there are more than just three in the series. I do love Laura's work and this is an excellent example of her work. As always in her books, this book is well written, action packed, and you will love her characters. I enjoy how she weaves her faith throughout the whole story.

Tess Collins is giving a pop test when she sits at her desk and hears a click. Tess immediately sends her children out to the school yard and instructs one to get the principal. She explains that she has triggered a bomb, get all the children and teachers out of the school and asks her to call 911. SWAT shows up in the form of a man she had a crush on all through school, a one time bad boy.

Declan Shaw has returned to the town he had grown up in after six years in the Marines. He returned because his sister and her twin daughters needed help. Now a highly trained explosive expert on the Milwaukee County SWAT team he's sent to answer a possible bomb threat but finds his high school crush. He is the only one capable of disarming the bomb. My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Tundra Threat. This book is well written, action packed, and full of adventure. I love the characters, Sarah did a twist to the relationships of her two leading characters. Her male lead steps back and let the female lead do her job. I always like that even though I know that would be hard for a man. Faith is woven in amongst the story like a tapestry.

Her first flight out she comes across two dead bodies, her expertize is on wildlife not murder. She sets out to solve the crime but when her life is threatened she calls her brother, a police officer in Anchorage. Her brother send his best friend to help her and protect her. This is the last man she wants to see after a disastrous teenage crush on the guy.

Will Harrison has known McKenna forever. If not for his relationship with her brother Will would have pursued the beauty. Now here he is thrown together with her, fighting to protect her, and keep her safe. Will knew she was well trained and could handle her job but she had no backup and was out here in the middle of no where alone with a killer own her trail. His Most Suitable Bride by Renee Ryan

My book review today is own the Love Inspired Historical, His Most Suitable Bride. This book is the eighth book in the Charity House Series. This book is well written and heart warming. I liked the characters very much. This book is all about false pride, overcoming past mistakes, and letting go of the shame. Jesus took our shame in the Garden of Gethsemane so we don't have to bear it any more. I know this book will bless you.

Reese Bennett Jr. decides for business sake, its time to take a wife. He was married once and it was heart breaking to lose her. Now Reese is convinced that a loveless marriage is what he wants. His client  Mrs. Singletary takes on the task, asking him for a list of what he wants in a woman. Her companion takes over the task but as she proceeds his list keeps changing.

Callie Mitchell had a episode in her past that frightened her to the point that she has made herself as dowdy and unattractive as possible. Her employer asks her to take on the task of finding the proper wife for Reese. Her employer also forbids her to dress as she has been. Now that she is dressed properly her employer thrust her out in society instead of allowing her to hide on the sidelines.

A really cute story, quiet humorous, and it will touch your heart. You really must get a copy. You can find a copy at the address below.

Out of the Shadows

Today, instead of writing a book review I'm going to talk to you about my own book, Out of the Shadows. This is the first book I wrote and is very dear to my heart. This book contains a great deal of my own personal testimony. When I look back to the events that took place over forty years ago it seems more like a movie I once saw. God has done such a total healing of my heart.

I was talking to my grand daughter the other day and I told her that when I first got a divorce all I could remember was the bad times; every hurt, the pain, the isolation, and total destruction of my soul. Years later when I was saved and Spirit filled, I was able to forgive my husband. God then began to give back the good memories. No matter how devastating the relationship is there was once good, happy times. My grand daughter is going through a divorce and I hope my experiences help her to heal.

Glori Rhoades married the wrong man and was in the process of getting a divorce but her husband was refusing to acknowledge it. Dragging Glori to a party, he leaves her alone, and then throws a fit when his best friend talks to her. Jake takes her back to the apartment and beats her in an attempt to kill her. His fellow police officers stops the attack and sends for help. Jake escapes the police and sets out to finish the job he had started. If he can't have Glori then no one else would.

Michael had once been in love with Glori until his best friend moved in and took over after a misunderstanding. Michael has tried to stay a way from Glori and forget how he felt about her. He wanted to remain a friend of Jake's but now he fears for Glori's life. He will do everything in his power to keep her safe.

God gave me this story and as it parallels with my story it is a healing bomb to the horrors I lived with. I want everyone to know that there is life after an abusive relationship. When you are going through the abuse you feel you are the only one that has to live like that, (especially forty years ago when no one talked about the problem) that there is no hope, no way out but there is hope now. Jesus is there to save you physically as well as spiritually all you have to do is ask. Not only will He heal your broken body but He has a plan for you, a wondrous plan, that you couldn't even imagine. Know that God has thousands of men and women of God who are out there working to save the victims of abuse. God loves you and will heal your broken hearts.

You can purchase a copy of this book on Amazon, Lulu, and other places where books are sold. It's just been revised, I have to apologize, the first time a friend of mine published it and I didn't  explain that I wanted it in single spaced and so it was double spaced and there were a lot of spaces between chapters. I think it's much better now. I hope you will check it out and let me know how you enjoy the book. God bless you all and have a good week.

The Lawman Returns by Lynette Eason

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, The Lawman Returns. This book is the first book in the Wrangler's Corner Series. I can't wait to get the next book, this one was awesome. I love the way Lynette writes; extra ordinary characters, fast paced action, and faith interwoven throughout the whole story. You just have to love her work.

Sabrina Mayfield had a tragic childhood, her mother was engaged to one of the men in the small town, left him at the alter, she returned with a baby in tow, and then took off again. Sabrina was laughed at and shunned by the whole town. Determined to earn the town's respect she becomes a social worker and helps children through their tragic lives. She lost one of her best friends. (the nephew of the man her mother destroyed) Stephen was a cop killed in the line of duty. Now she receives a call from Jordan a teen she is trying to help, he knows who killed Stephen. When answering the call she is shot at.

Detective Clay Starke (once dubbed a bad boy by the town) has returned home to work temporarily for the Sheriff, hoping to find Stephen's (his brother) killer. He is called out to back up the social worker but gets there just as someone starts taking shots at her. Clay makes it his job to keep Sabrina and Jordan's two young siblings safe and find Jordan and learn what he knows about who killed his brother. They go from one deadly situation to another.

A journey of redemption, of forgiveness and love. This story will warm your heart and touch your soul. A story of unconditional love just as Jesus love for us. You may find a copy of this book at the address below.

Married by Christmas by Karen Kirst

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense book, Married by Christmas. This book is the next book in the Smokey Mountain Matches Series. I have loved this series and this book was one of my favorites. I liked that for Christmas she brought many of the characters from past books back to visit. It's always cool to find about those characters and how they are doing. I love the way Karen writes.

Rebecca Thurston is a broken, bitter woman. Years ago she had been part of a threesome, they had been best friends, but then Rebecca became engaged to Adam, one of those men. Adam and Caleb had been inseparable and in a freak accident Adam and Caleb are injured. Adam is unable to walk again and breaks off the engagement and left town. Rebecca blamed Caleb for ruining her life. Now her parents were gone and Rebecca and her little sister were struggling to survive. During a bad snow storm Rebecca's dog alerts her and takes her to a wounded man. The badly wounded man turned out to be Caleb. She took him home and nursed him. She spent several days alone with him trying to save his life but the town gossips declare she must marry the man.

Badly scared Caleb has spent years in solitary existence because of the guilt he feels for what happened that night. He has always watched over Becca from the side lines, bringing meat and supplies in the night when no one will know and asking his brother to check on them. Now he has witnessed a murder of a good friend. Wounded, his horse brings him to the place he remembers well. When Caleb wakes he finds Rebecca nursing him, Fear floods his heart for her and her sister, this outlaw band would surely find him and hurt the girls. When he is on the mend and he hears the town is demanding their marriage he promises Rebecca he will leave as soon as he's able and will live up in the mountains like he had been. She wouldn't have to see him. They then marry a marriage on paper only.

As Christmas comes closer the gang finds Rebecca but doesn't realize she is his wife. Scared beyond words she agrees to move into Caleb's cabin. Sunken Treasure by Katy Lee

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense book, Sunken Treasure. Katie did it again, a truly awesome adventure. The book is well written and full of action. I love her characters even though they're broken with serious issues but then aren't we all broken with only God able to put us together again. It was nice to visit some of the characters from her past couple of books too. I enjoyed how she wove her faith into the story.

Rachelle Thibodaux has lived her whole life in the small islands of Stepping Stones but when her father was found to be a murderer she pulled away from family and friends. Convinced deep inside of her lurks the same darkness that caused her father to kill. Now she hides by fishing for lobsters and spend all of her time on the water. One day she sees a woman steal on of her traps then board a luxury ship, capturing the woman on her camera. As she nears the ship she realizes that the woman is shooting at her. As she radios for help, someone tries to come aboard her boat. She finds her gun to keep them from getting aboard but when a man begs for help she realizes he is in trouble and not the woman that had shot at her.

Gage Fontaine is diving for a ship to salvage. As he scopes the ocean floor his nemsis appears and cuts his air line and his arm. Force to rise quickly to the surface he suffers from the bends. Rachelle takes him on board and to the island for help. Gage has unknowingly led a band of real life pirates to Stepping Stones. Now can he save Rachelle from the blood thirsty Jolene?

A great journey of restoration, forgiveness, and love. I know you will want to get a copy, you can get a copy at the address below.

The Amish Bride of Ice Mountain by Kelly Long

This book was sent to me to read and review, my thoughts and opinions are all my own and I was not influenced in any way. I absolutely love books on Marriages of Convenience. As a child I use to read Grace Livingston Hill, Emily Loring and later Glenna Finney. I loved the whole concept and the tensions that became overwhelming as they fell in love and didn't think the other one wanted to make the marriage real. I also love Amish books so this one is a no brainer for me. I loved it, and I'm sure you will too.

Professor Jude Lyons has always been fascinated by the Amish. Now to finish his doctorate he has come to Ice Mountain to write a book on the Mountain Amish. These Amish live a life even further behind the Amish in Pennsylvania. A young girl helps him with his work and as the day approaches for him to leave he loses control and kisses the maiden. Unfortunately they are seen by her brother in a compromising situation. Later Jude is met by the girl, her father, brothers, and the bishop; he is told he must do the honorable thing. Suffering from low blood sugar, he passes out and wakes to find the wedding is already taking place. He is forced to; endure Grossmuder May who comes to bless his marriage bed, save his wife from an attempted rape, share her bed because of her great fear, and then go throughout the community so his wife can say good bye. He is determined keep his hands off her, so he can bring her home and can get an annulment in the Spring. She doesn't belong in his dysfunctional life.

Mary King gave into her feelings when she allowed the professor to kiss her. Now that she's married to him and is forced to leave her beloved mountain community. Jude comes from a family of great wealth, his home, his finance` and his family are a great shock to her. She is determined that she will please her husband and make her wedding into a real marriage. After a terrible misunderstanding she flees her marriage and returns to the mountain a broken woman.

This is a humorous heartwarming story of finding God's will for your life and how to overcome the situation life throws at you. You can purchase this book at the address below.

The Marshal's Promise by Rhonda Gibson

My review today is on the Love Inspired Historical, The Marshal's Promise. I really enjoy Rhonda's westerns. This one is well written, has intriguing characters, and is faith based. I love that about her work. I love books about the mail-order brides, I can't imagine how desperate a woman would have to be to commit yourself to a man she has never met. Now you see the same spirit in the internet matches. It works for some and some are destroyed. Although I have been divorced forty-four years and I had to raise four children alone, I have never been that desperate.

Rebecca Ramsey loses her mother and her father remarries. Her step mother does everything in her power to get rid of this daughter.(Wicked Step-Mother Syndrome) including forcing her to answer an ad for a mail-order bride. After exchanging letters for awhile she sets out to marry Jesse Cole. A man who had promised to love and care for her but when she arrives she finds that Jesse was killed in a bank robbery. Unable to return home she accepts a job of housekeeping for the U.S. Marshal.

U.S. Marshal Seth Billings shot Jesse during a bank robbery. Jesse looked to be one of the robbers and Seth had no choice but to shoot him but after Jesse died in his arms begging him to care for Rebecca, Seth finds out he has shot an unarmed man. He promises to care for Rebecca but it is soon evident that the gang Jesse had been a part of was after Rebecca. Now he must keep her safe without losing his heart.

A great story of faith, forgiveness, and one that will warm your heart. You can order the book at the address below.

Never too Late by Lawrence W. Gold

My book review today is on the novel Never Too Late. This book was sent to me to read and review and all of the thoughts on this book are my own. This is not a Christian book so I want to tell you that up front to those who follow my blog. The language isn't bad and there's no sexual situations. I did like this book. As a sixty eight year old, I like to think people like me can do such exploits, even I can dream. The book is well written, I like his characters, and the situations he puts them into. You have to really feel for his main character and what she has to deal with.

Isabel Kramer is a respected psychiatrist and a a professor of psychology at U C Berkeley. At the age of sixty, Issy's seventeen year old daughter asks her to run with her in the Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco. As they prepare for the race Issy discovers a love of running. When she was a teen she had wanted to run cross country but was greatly discouraged by her mother but now she remembers the thrill she had felt. At the finish of the race she decides to continue racing and hires a coach to prepare for running marathons. Issy finds that the whole world is about to try to keep her from her desire to run in the Boston Marathon. Barriers are at every turn but Issy is determined to run her race.

This is a great story of determination and courage. I'm sure you will enjoy this story.

A Perfect Amish Christmas by Jennifer Beckstrand

My book review today is on the Novella, An Amish Christmas Quilt, A Perfect Amish Christmas, this is the third and last story of the novella. I have really enjoyed this novella, I was sent the book to read and review from the publisher as I read, review, and love all of Jennifer's books. The views on the stories are all my own and no one has influenced my post. I love Christmas stories, I love Amish stories, and I do really love the Huckleberry Matchmakers.

Anna and Felty Helmuth are at it again, they bring their grandson, Gideon, back for Christmas. They plan to bring him together with their neighbor Dottie Schrock. Gideon returns for Christmas but comes a day early after he receives a letter from his cousin asking him to come a day later. Intrigued he shows up at Dottie's door the day she is planning a perfect party for her mamm.

Dottie's mamm had almost died last Christmas and this year she was determined to show her mamm a perfect Christmas even if that meant hurting a few peoples feelings. When the handsome Gideon shows up at her door, she tells him he is not welcomed at her party but when an extra girl shows up she is forced to go to him and beg him to come after all. How humiliating!

Gideon can't believe how she had grown up. He tries to go out of his way to help her with her perfect Christmas, but when a freak storm shows up and Dottie is lost, he's the one to go and find her.

A great humorous story you will absolutely love. This novella isn't out yet but will be soon. You may preorder it at the address below. I know you won't regret it;

I haven't read any of Kelly's work before but will certainly read more. The story is well written, if anything it was just to short but then novellas are like that. I enjoyed the characters and the whole Hatfield and McCoy concept. It's an excellent read.

A Willow Ridge Christmas Pageant by Charlotte Hubbard

My book review today is on the novella, An Amish Christmas Quilt. Today I will talk to you about the first story, A Willow Ridge Christmas Pageant. I felt like I needed to take one story for each blog instead of reviewing the whole novella. This book was sent to me to read and review as I review all of Jennifer Beskstrand's books. All of my thoughts are my own and wasn't influenced by anyone. I love Amish stories so I was excite when I received this one and I do love Christmas stories too. I have never read any of Charlotte's books but I really enjoyed this one and hope to read more of her work. It was well written, heart warming, and I loved the characters.

Mary Kauffman is a recent widow. Her husband had been older and not the man she had once dreamed of. Her marriage took place mostly because her harsh father told her not to do it. Now she was left with two children that weren't her own; one a son that wanted nothing to do with her and a daughter she couldn't seem to console. Mary leaves her home and goes several hours away to stay with her aunt until she delivers her unborn child and can get back on her feet. As she drives to her aunt's home her water breaks and she goes into full labor. She comes to a place on the road when she can't go any farther.

Seth Brenneman is a carpenter. He's hard at work when a strange dog comes to his shop and refuses to stop barking until Seth follows him. At the buggy he finds two children, an unconscious woman, two cats,( who escape into the buggy and cause chaos)  and a miniature horse. He takes her to the clinic and goes to tell her aunt. The aunt leaves to help Mary and leaves him with the kids and a circus in the buggy. He soon ends up helping to deliver the child as Mary is to worn out to deliver.

The teacher of the school suggests a community pageant since they don't have enough children in the school. They decide to do a living nativity but Mary's father shows up at the service and forbids them to do such a wicked thing. Mary and the other members decide to have the nativity anyway; Mary, her tiny son, and Seth the carpenter. Soon word has gone out throughout the land.

A great Christmas journey of love, forgiveness, and faith. this is a must read story. The novella will be out in November but you can preorder it now at the address below.
