Danger Under the Mistletoe by Alexa Verde

My review today is on the suspense, Danger Under the Mistletoe. This is fifth book in the Secrets of Rios Azules Series. This book was sent to me. I am not required to review it but I want to review it as it's an awesome book. The story is well written, faith based, and full of action. I know you are going to love it.
Security Specialist Rachel Evans moves to the small Texas town of Rios Azules. She moved to make a fresh start and heal from the death of her husband. Soon after she arrives one of her clients is found dead in his home under the mistletoe. Not a good thing for a security company. Her next door neighbor arrives late one night after she locked herself out of her home. Rachel goes over to her home to get the medicine she need. The only way in is to pick the lock but as she's leaving she's caught by the handsome neighbor's grandson. He follows her home to get his grandmother. Soon after her little rental house is broken into and Sebastion helps her. Would someone from her past try to force her into a life of thievery?
Sebastion Mora was widowed several years ago. Now his life was centered around his grandmother. His grandmother calls him late one night and tells him she locked herself out of her home. Could he come help her? Sebastion finds someone in her home sneaking out of the window. Turns out this woman is his grandmother's beautiful neighbor. He finds the woman intriguing. He soon finds out she is in danger. He must keep her safe.
A great struggle to keep Rachel safe and find out who's out to kidnap her. God has a plan for these two, a good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too, a plan for a hope and a future. Give Him your heart, trust Him and watch what he will do for you.

Secret Service Setup by Jessica R. Patch

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Secret Service Setup. This is the second book in the Security Specialist Series. I always enjoy Jessica's books and this one one was excellent. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
Bodyguard Jody Gallagher agrees to work with the only man she had ever loved. She had worked for the Secret Service and had tried to help Evan with his drinking problem but she took the fall and lost everything. Now she must work with him. They soon discover that on the dark internet there is a two million dollar hit on him. She vows to keep him safe but then discovers there is also a hit on her. They have been set up.
Secret Service Agent Evan Novak is on a task force trying to take down a gun trafficking ring on the dark internet. They set up a sting operation. Evan is not thrilled to have Jody as a bodyguard. His guilt over the past stands between them. How could he expect her to forgive him when he had destroyed her life? He soon finds he is going to need all the help he can get as they are both set up and are running for their lives. Killers popping up everywhere.
A journey to survive in a dark world of gun running. These two were destined to be together but they have to get past all of their past mistakes and trust each other. God has a plan for these two, they had run ahead of His plan and really messed thing up but He has a plan to bring them back to where they are suppose to be. God has a plan for you too. Don't jump ahead of His plan for you but if you do; know that He can still take you where you need to go. God BLESS you all.

River of Danger by Akexa Verde

My review today is on the thriller, River of Danger. This is the prequel in the Secrets of Rios Azules Series. This book was sent to me to read, a review was not part of the agreement. I really enjoyed this book. I have found a new author to put on my favorite list. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love this one.
Investigative Reporter River Montenegro, returns to her hometown after achieving success in Dallas. River hasn't even entered town before the only man she ever loved rescues her when her tire mysteriously falls off her car. Can this be related to her investigation into the serial killer the Smiling Killer? She believes that she was the first victim of this killer but got a way. She is determined to find the man before he can kill another.
 Jacob Forrester, immediately wants to renew the close friendship he had with River. She's the reason he made it through school. With out her help he wouldn't be the man he is today. River doesn't seem to have any interest in renewing their friendship. She seems to be on a mission to find a killer. He decides to tag along and keep her from getting hurt.
A journey of two soul mates that had been torn apart years ago. Both carry a lot of baggage from their pasts but must depend on each other and God to survive the attacks of a vicious killer. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him control of your life, trust Him, and watch Him turn your life around.

The Doctor's Abused Bride by Leah Larens

My review is on the western romance, The Doctor's Abused Bride. This is one of the Ladies of the Frontier Series. I was given this book to read but I was not required to review it. It was a good read. The book is well written and will touch your heart. I was once an abused wife so I know what that is like. Leah did a good job with a rough subject.
Caroline Norris is married to an abusive husband. She decides she and her twins can't handle any more so she saves up money and tries to sneak out in the middle of the night but Floyd  wakes up and tries to stop her. The driver she hired helps the kids into his wagon and waits for her. Floyd beats her but she is able to escape. She goes to her sister's home to hide and start over. Floyd is a lazy, mean drunk surely he won't try to follow her.
Dr. Gilbert Shannon met Caroline when she had left her husband a year ago. It was love at first sight for him; and then there was that first kiss at her sister's wedding. He loves her and hopes to have a future with her and her children. He writes to his brother, a lawyer, to find out if he can help her get a divorce. He must watch over her and the kids in case Floyd comes after her.
A journey of three desperate people trying to hold on to a dream of a hope and a future.

High-Risk Investigation by Jane M. Choate

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, High-Risk Investigation. I enjoy all of Jane's books and this one is excellent. It's well written, action packed, and fast paced. She has woven her faith throughout the story like a fine tapestry. I know you are going to love this one.
Journalist Scout McAdams makes her mother's investigation her first priority after her parents death. Her mother was a best seller true-crime writer and was in the middle of an expose. Scout must find out what is going on even though someone is trying to stop her. 
S&J Security/Protection Operative Nicco Santonni is hired by his sister-in-lae to be a body guard to protect Scout. It is suppose to be a secret. The threatening letters she has been receiving has his sister-in-law really worried about her friend. As a former Army Ranger it will take all of his training to keep them alive.
A journey of two courageous souls battling their enemies to find their way to true love. God has a plan for these two, a plan for good and not for evil. God has a plan for you too, a plan for a hope and a future. Give Him your heart, trust Him, and watch Him move in your life.

Plain Jeopardy by Alison Stone

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Plain Jeopardy. I always enjoy Alison's books; they are Amish, I love Amish stories but they also have suspense. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. You are really going to love this one.
Grace Miller is a reporter and travels all over the world. She has returned home to recover from surgery and complications. When an accident that includes some teens from town and an Amish girl happens; her boss wants her to investigate it and write a story. She receives a note asking her to meet at the gas station at eight o'clock. They have information about the accident. When she goes to the meet, a man tries to run her down. The police captain is the one who comes to her rescue. She refuses to stop investigating the accident when he asked her to stop; even though someone is trying to stop her
Police Captain Conner Gates is sent to the gas station on a 'hit and run'. It's obvious that it is a deliberate attack on the reporter. Conner is upset when he learns Grace is going to do a story on his cousin's death and the accident. He offers to help her investigate her mother's murder instead. It happened years ago when his father was the police captain. It was the one case his father could never solve.
A journey of a cold case that could destroy Grace, Conner, and his father. Conner doesn't want to hurt his cousin's mother, Grace doesn't want to investigate her mothers death, Conner's father wants to solve the cold case that has driven him crazy for years. Someone wants to see them dead. Have you ever had problems that you wanted to ignore and hope it went away? It's impossible for you to have faith when you are afraid. Fear will paralyze you. God has a plan for these two, a good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too. Trust God with whatever has broken your heart and He will make a way where there doesn't seem to be a way. God is so good!

Cold Fury by Susan Sleeman


My review today is on the thriller, Cold Fury. This is the third book in the Cold Harbor Series. I really enjoyed this book. Every time I read one of Susan's books I think this is the best one she's written and this is no different. It is well written, action packed, and you will not be able to put it down. It is excellent!<br /><br />Former Green Beret Jackson Lockhart is a member of the Blackwell Tactical Unit. Even though he considers the team members as his family he has never shared about his engagement and the tragedy that changed his life. He has a history with Maggie and when he sees a video that shows she saw a killer and her life is endangered he knows he has to be the one to protect her whether she will accept his help or not. He has failed this woman once he would not fail her again. Can he keep his feelings out of the picture? If his boss finds out how much he still loves her he will take him off the case.<br /><br />Maggie Turner is a forensic anthropologist. She teaches at a small college and volunteers to help find closure for those who are involved in disasters such as the forest fire that just destroy so many homes. She is working on site when she is attacked by a man telling her he will not go to prison for killing a man. The he proceeds to try to strangle her. She is rescued by the long lost love of her life. They had agreed never to see each other again. What was he doing here? Why is this man trying to kill her?<br /><br />A journey of survival of two people that were meant to be together but moved to fast and missed God best. Now they are struggling to find a killer and stay alive; both want a future together but there was too much hurt in their past. BUT GOD has a plan for these two, a plan for good and not for evil. Criss Cross by C.C.Warrens

My review today is on the thriller, Criss Cross. This is the first book in the Holly Novel Series. This books was sent to me as a complimentary book because I enjoyed the second book in the series so much. I really enjoyed this book; well I'm not sure if enjoy is what you call a thriller about a serial killer. But the book is truly awesome. C.C. handles the situation in a very capable way. The book is well written, action packed, and full of terror due to the serial killer. I have been abused and I know that C.C. is right on in this character. Faith is also woven throughout all the book like a fine tapestry. I know you are going to love this one.
Holly Smith is a photographer in New York City. She is now leading a very quiet protected life. She is unable to remember the first ten years of her life. At the age of ten she remembers living with a family she thought was hers only to find that they were never her family and they were both taken to prison. Holly was then taken to one foster home after another. She had been abused and lived through thing she had never been able to share with anyone. She doesn't even know who she is. She only has one friend, can't bare to be touched, and lives in an apartment that is more like a bunker. Holly is taking pictures in the park when she notices a man standing by a tree in her photos watching the shoot. She is attacked by two men. A dog rescues her and the police shows up. One of the men that attacked her was found dead with his throat cut. Is Holly in trouble? Does she know the man that killed one of her attacker? Is this killer a man from her past?The killer leaves a note on her door saying 'Holly come home.' Where is home?
Detective Richard Marx is called to the scene of a murder to find a young beautiful girl. Though she is a victim she refuses to consider her self that way. She keeps him at a distance and it soon becomes apparent that this girl is in trouble. A serial killer is on her tail and he is determined to have his way with this girl.  Can Marx and his men keep Holly safe? What is she hiding?
A journey that takes them to Maine and then to Kansas trying to find out who Holly really is. This girl has become more like the daughter Marx always wanted. They must find out who Holly really is and what this animal plans to do to her. Holly must learn to trust again and know that God has a plan for them, a good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too; a plan for a hope and a future. Make Him Lord of your life and watch Him take control of your mess. Thank God most of us will never have to deal with serial killers but we can trust that if we do He will make a way.

Cold Truth by Susan Sleeman

My review today is on the thriller, Cold Truth. This is the second book in the series Cold Harbor. I really enjoy Susan's writing and I thought this was one of her best stories. The story is well written, action packed, and full of suspense. As always Susan weaves her faith throughout the story like a well woven tapestry. I know you are going to love it. I really enjoy how we visit characters from the first book. That's something Susan usually does and I really like that.
Chemist Kiera Underwood gets a phone call. "Want to play a game?" The caller's voice is disguised and he tells her she must play the game or her twin brother will die. She immediately calls her brother but there's no answer on his cell. His lab said he wasn't there and no one knew where he was. That is so unlike him so she heads for Cold Harbor. She finds her brother has not only been kidnapped but is framed for the theft of a deadly bio-toxin. She is almost ran over by a SUV but a man swoops in to save her. He and his team are investigating the theft. They have video of her brother stealing the toxin. They don't really believe her story until the puzzles start coming in.
Ex-Army Ranger Cooper is part of the team Blackwell Tactical. They have been hired to find the stolen bio-toxin and the man who stole it. He recognizes the beautiful girl that was almost run down. She could lead him to her brother. He is intrigued when she tells him of the call. They soon find that she is the only one that can solve the puzzles. As close as he gets to this beauty he is unable to trust her. He has been betrayed by those he loved before. His last girl friend was a spoiled rich girl and that's exactly what this women appeared to be. But they are forced to protect her. Can he keep her safe without getting in over his head?

My review today is on the Book Box Set, Targeted. The story I'm reviewing is Scent of Danger. This book set was sent to me to read, it's wasn't to receive a review but I really liked the story so here is my review. This book is well written, action packed, and full of twists and turns. Faith is interwoven throughout the story like a fine tapestry. I know you are going to love it. I hadn't read any of Alexa's books but I do look forward to reading more of her work.
Police Officer Maya Hutchinson is on a mission. Her twin sister has disappeared and Maya knows something is wrong.They had a bad childhood and have had their problems but they have always kept in touch, they talk every day. Now she hasn't heard from her and it's too soon for the police to investigate. Maya goes to the party at Senator McNamera's mansion dressed as her sister, super model January. She's determined to find out what has happened to her. She is shoved into an empty second story bedroom and the door is locked. She ties two sheets together and climbs out the window. She is stopped by a security guard who is going to call the police but the Senator's son steps up and tells the guard he knows her. January had once dated this man could Maya fool him? They looked alike but they were so different.
Ex-cop Connor McNamera spends time with January at the party but there is something very different about her. She claims she climbed out the window as a dare but that didn't really ring true. When the beauty is attacked she wasn't afraid but fought back. He can't quite believe this was January. She has a twin sister can this be her? Can he keep her safe? Where cab the real January be?

Mountain Refuge by Sarah Varland

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Mountain Refuge. I really enjoy Sarah's work and this is an excellent example of her work. This story is well written, action packed, and full of intrigue. Faith is interwoven throughout the story. I know you are going to love this book.
Summer Dawson was a mountain runner, she had become quite famous in her world. A few years ago she had almost destroyed her life and is trying to make it up to her family. Now she doesn't have the time to run competitively but she still trains. She loves to run the mountains. She uses her celebrity status to try to save their family lodge. She's up on the mountain when she is attacked on the trail. She manages to escape and runs up on the highway. She flags down car and jumps in. The man claims to be a friend of her brother, can she really trust this man?
Ex-Police Officer Clay Hitchcock comes to the lodge to work for the summer. Tyler Dawson is giving him a fresh start from his problems at Treasure Point Police Force, but he warns him to keep away from his two sisters. Clay no more than arrives when Tyler sends him out to find his sister, Summer. She's over an hour late from her run. When Clay, Tyler, and Sheriff Noah Dawson find out that she was attacked they believe that it was a serial killer. Clay is elected to keep Summer safe. My review today is on the Inspirational Christian Romance, Commitment For Two. This is the fourth book in the Naomi Chronicles. This is a complimentary book sent to me to read. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. The book is well written, Action packed, and full of celebrations. It shows us the tensions between the Jewish and Catholic religions. Only grace and forgiveness can see them through. I know you are going to love this book.
Naomi and Chaz are finally reunited and their marriage consummated. Unfortunately she becomes pregnant right away and is bedridden through out her pregnancy. The teenage girl that had caused Naomi so much trouble comes to care for her. Lola, also pregnant, asks Naomi to teach her about forgiveness, and God's Word. Healing and forgiveness comes to these two.
Chaz loves his wife and wants only the best for her. He has waited a long time for her. He is unsure about leaving Lola to care for her. The girl had almost destroyed their relationship. Has she really changed? Chaz must be away from his beloved wife due to an embezzlement charge. He also finds Naomi's mother and sister and brings them to visit her

Saved by the Sheriff by Leah Laurens

My review today is on the Western Romance, Saved by the Sheriff. This is one of the books in the Ladies of the Frontier Series. This book was sent to me to read. I wasn't required to review it but I like to help fellow authors. This book is well written and intriguing.
Naomi Holden is trapped in an abusive marriage. She tells her husband she wants a divorce but he refuses to agree and beats her badly. Her friends help her to escape. The sheriff escorts her to a town several hours away. She tries to find work but no one would hire a married woman. She faints from hunger and is rescued by a good looking man that offers her a job.
Sheriff Glenn Washington is in love with Naomi but there is nothing he can do to help her but keep her safe. He escorts Naomi to Blisspeak. He stays a while to make sure Percy hasn't followed them and that Naomi is safe. He returns home but after a few days he finds out Percy has left town so he returns to Blisspeak only to find Naomi is enamored with another man.
