Foul Play by Elisabeth Rees

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Foul Play. This is the second book in the Navy Seal Defenders Series. I don't know about you but I love stories about our special forces in the military. Maybe it's because my son was in the Special Forces in the Air Force but I love these stories. Elisabeth does a great job with this series. I know you'll want to read it.

Deborah Lewis is a pediatric nurse in Harborcreek Community Hospital. Something is going on in her unit. Children are becoming infected with strange symptoms that is causing renal failure. No one seems to believe her accusations of meds being tampered with; but when she continues to cause trouble for the hospital her life is threatened. Locked in one of the compartments in the morgue, she fears her life is over but then she is rescued by the one man she never wanted to see again.

Ex-Navy Seal Cole Strachan has opened his own security agency, Secure It. Cole left the Navy after the death of his baby boy and his divorce. He came home to heal. When he took the security job in the hospital he knew he might run into his ex-fiance` Deborah but he hoped she might come to forgive him.
When he finds her locked in the morgue and then attacked in the parking lot he know he must keep her safe at all cost.

There is no greater loss than to have to bury a child. I lost my youngest and that hole in your life is hard to deal with. Cole's life is shattered. He is a broken man. Deborah lived through the desertion and betrayal of the only man she loved. This is a journey of second chances; learning to trust each other and learning to trust and lean on a God who can put their broken lives back together again. Tragedy comes in our lives, this world is broken and satan is out to destroy us but God has a plan for us. We need give Him control of our lives because He has a plan for us that is far greater than we have ever dreamed of.
God is so good.

The Substitute Bride by Carrie Fancett Pagels

My review today is on the book The Substitute Bride. I always like to read Carrie's books they are so interesting. This one is well written, humorous, and will touch your heart. I really enjoy the way she used The Christmas Carol to work out the story.

Sonja Hoeke is the youngest daughter of a family of girls. Her father has told her she must marry or he would throw her out of the house and proceeds to ask all the men in town to marry her. She works as a substitute for her father's mail route but hopes to become full time. Her best friend, Cora has recently died and left a big hole in her world.  She finds a letter for her friend in the post office. The letter is from Cora's pen pal and asks her to marry him as he must have a wife for his promotion. Sonja sends a letter stating Cora's death but that she would be his substitute bride if he was willing.

Louis Smith Penwell left his home at the poor farm and went on to become a prosperous man in the railroad. He is offered a promotion but after he accepts he finds he must return to the one place he never wanted to be. He sends a telegraph to Cora to tell her to stay he is on his way. When he arrives at his home town he finds that Cora is gone but her best friend is the one girl he remembers that he cared about.

A journey of love and trust as a non-angel helps bring them together and restore what had been taken from them. God always has a plan and it is always much greater than we've ever dreamed of. You too should learn to trust God and let Him work at his plan for you.

Secondhand Cowboy by Lacy Williams

My review today is on Second Hand Cowboy by Lacy Williams. I always enjoy Lacy's cowboy stories. Her cowboys are always great, living in Nebraska I have to admit that the cowboys I know aren't that way. Very few cowboys around here are saved, especially the wanna bes. This story is well written, humorous, and heartwarming. I know you will enjoy it.

Callum Stewart is a rodeo cowboy. He fell in love with Iris as a young boy and waited patiently for her to grow up. On her eighteenth birthday they planned to elope. He went and watched her ballet performance and wondered if he should keep her from her destiny as a dancer. On his way to meet her he has an accident and her father threatens to put him in prison. Devastated he leaves. Now years later he arrives with his triplet son in tow to start over, believing she has made it big in New York.

Iris Tatum suffered a severe back injury, her sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, and her uncle died leaving the girls his ranch. They have returned to the ranch to make it work. Her father had bought off her sister's boyfriend and so the girls have little to do with their father.

A journey of two people who love each other trying to do the best they can for the other even though their hearts were broken. BUT God has a plan! God always has a plan for us. If we will allow Him to work in our lives. His plan is far greater than any we have imagined. Trust God, you will never be disappointed.

The Littlest Witness by Jane M. Choate

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, The Littlest Witness. I really enjoyed this book. This is Jane's second book for LIS and I'm really glad she has joined the team. I look forward to reading more of her work. This story is well written, action packed, and I loved the characters. You need to get your copy right away.

Delta Force soldier Caleb Judd was called home when his brother and sister-in-law were brutally murdered. Caleb's young nephew witnessed the murder and was so traumatized he is unable to speak. After Caleb is attacked, he knows he must have help to keep little Tommy alive. Caleb calls a Delta buddy for help but since he is on his honeymoon he sends his sister.

Security Specialist Shelley Rabb is an ex-cop, ex-Secret Service Agent and is now partners with her brother in a security firm. She is well able to protect Caleb and his young nephew. Unfortunately she plans to call the shots. She must be in charge. This rule is very difficult for a Delta to take.

This is a journey of two broken people struggling to keep a young child safe and find out who killed his parents and why. God's plan becomes their only hope. That is the way it is for us. We might not have people trying to shoot us or blow us up but we are in a war and devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Give God your trust and watch Him get you out of the mess you have made of your life.

Promise Lodge by Charlotte Hubbard

My review today is on the Amish Romance, Promise Lodge. I'm not sure if you have ever read any of Charlotte's book but they are awesome. This book is an excellent example of her work. It is well written, heart warming and full of faith. My only complaint would be that her next book will not be at Promise Lodge. I would like to know how Rosetta, Truman, Mattie and Amos get together. So if you can't tell I loved her characters.

Three sisters purchase an old church camp and are intending to restore it to start a new Amish community. Mattie Bender Swartz is a widow from an abusive marriage, her sister  Christine Bender Hershbeger is a recent widow, and their sister Rosetta Bender is a maidel. They are tired of being told they must marry. They brought with them Mattie's two sons, Christine's two daughters, and Preacher Amos Troyer. The Amish community they behind are very upset about their decision.

Noah Swartz wasn't happy about coming to Promise Lodge. He had been working as an apprentice for Preacher Eli Peterscheim and was engaged to his daughter. Now the engagement was broken and he was working all the time trying to repair this place and build what they needed. He now had no hope of making a living for himself and a family.

Deborah Peterscheim is thrown out of her father's house and has no where to go so she comes to Promise Lodge hoping they will take her in. She's hoping to restore her relationship with Noah and find a family that will care about her.

A journey of this family group and their adventures in starting a new community and the adversities that come against them. It's a great read and I know you will enjoy every minute of it.

After writing for some time he asks Carrie to come be his bride but when she arrives he is shocked to find that she has a six year old daughter she failed to mention. Not only is this a surprise but the girl is crippled from a bout with polio. Did she just come for his money? Panama Never The Same Mission by Glenda Parker

My post today is a little different because I want you to know that I have a new book out. Panama Never the Same Mission. This is a short story about my opportunity to go on a mission trip in 2012. It is a work of nonfiction and I think it will truly bless you and show you  how God will work in your life. He only wants you to give Him a chance to work things out. God truly blessed this mission trip and I hope you enjoy the inside view of a mission trip and how awesome our God is.

Big World Venture; with Steve Goley and Susie Shellenberger sponsor a mission trip every year for teens. We leave at the end of June for two weeks. We have hundreds of teens come to minister to the people of the country we go to each year. They minister in a drama that reveals God plan of salvation. We have around a hundred leaders and leaders in training(College kids) to train and chaperon these kids. These leaders also get the privilege to pray and minister to the teens. This is an awesome opportunity and a scary responsibility.

This year we will be going to Haiti and I really want to go. All of the proceeds of my book will go to that trip. If you would be interested in going on one of these trips you can find the information at Big World Venture-Never the Same. The name is so true, You will never be the same.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Mountain Hideaway. I always enjoy Christy's books and this one didn't disappoint. This book is well written, action packed and full of adventure. I like how she weaves her faith into all of the story. This book is an excellent example of Christy's work. I know you will want to get your own copy.

Can he keep them safe as men come at them from all directions? How does he fight this attraction that overwhelms him?

A journey of chaos trying to find a way out. These two people must learn to trust God and each other if they are going to survive. God never promised our lives would be easy but He did promise he would always be with us and He always makes a way. He has a plan for each of you, just give Him control and trust Him to see you through. His plan is far greater than anything we ever dreamed of.

Grace's Forgiveness by Molly Jebber

My review today is on the second book in the Keepsake Pocket Quilt Series, Grace's Forgiveness. I really enjoy Molly's work. I was thrilled when I received a copy in the mail. This book isn't available until February but you will want to pre-order it right away. This story is well written, heart warming, and humorous. I do enjoy anything Amish and I enjoy reading about how it was in the early 1900's. Her characters are full of faith, love, and a oneness of family and community.

Grace  Blauch is a spinster. She is a skilled quilter, shop owner, and midwife. Unfortunately she was born with disfiguring birthmark on her face. This birthmark caused people to turn away from her and refuse to look her in the eyes. Her father had tried several times to arrange marriages but every man refused. Brokenhearted she had given up hope for her future family. One day a handsome stranger walked into her store and changed her life.

Mark King lost his parents, his good friends, and his brother was shunned. He moves to Berlin to start over, he soon meets a beautiful young woman that makes his heart race. He hardly noticed the birthmark on her face, all he saw was beauty. She was everything he wanted in his fraa. His past follows him to Berlin and he now appears to have lost everything again.

A journey of two people who love one another but the past and Grace's father is bound to keep them apart. Trust in God is the only thing that will save their relationship. God has made a way. God has a plan for you too. Give him control and watch what He has planned for you. It will be far greater than anything you have planned. Look for this book in February, you'll love it.

Small Town Justice by Valerie Hansen

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Small Town Justice. I enjoyed this book very much. The story is well written and deals with some hard circumstances and yet does it in a positive encouraging way. I really liked the characters, although flawed and broken they work together to overcome all this world has done to them.

Jamie Lynn Henderson returns to the town of her youth to find answers to the horror that has destroyed her family. She pulls up to the house she once lived in as a child, her dog runs into the house. Jamie goes after the dog when two men pull up and start searching for her. One of them slashes her tires. She hides until they leave but she is soon taken over by the smoke. She and her dog are rescued by the son of the man her brother's accused of killing.

Shane Colton sees two men in camo run from the old house as the flames burst forth. Shane hears a dog barking and runs to help whoever is in the house. He saves the girl and when she asks about her dog he goes back and save him. He takes her truck in to repair the slashed tires, the dog to the vet and then goes to the hospital. When he learns who she is he is upset but feels like he must keep her alive until she finds her answers.

Two brokenhearted people that are forced to return to an event that had nearly destroyed them. Shane and his mom helps Jamie to return to the God of her youth. Together they investigate; finding that only the grace of God is going to keep them alive and find the answers. God had a plan and it was by far greater than either of them dreamed but they had to come to where they could trust God to work it out. God has a plan for you, if you can trust Him, and allow Him to move in your life it will come to pass.
God bless you in this up coming year. God is so good! I know this year will be awesome!
