The Wrangler's Inconvenient Wife by Lacy Williams

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical, The Wrangler's Inconvenient Wife. This book is the third book in the Wyoming Legacy Series. I enjoyed this book very much as I do all of Lacy's books. She writes great westerns, they are well written and quite humorous. I know you will enjoy this book.

Fran Morris poses as a underage orphan to get her and her sister out of a dangerous situation. A wealthy man has become obsessed with Emma and is following them. They have a train derailment some place in Wyoming. A cowboy comes to their rescue but it comes to light that she had deceived the orphanage and the head mistress of the orphans on the journey threatened to put her in jail. The cowboy agrees to marry Fran and take care of them. Fran doesn't have another way out so she agrees.

Edgar White was an orphan that had come to Wyoming on the orphan train himself. He and his brothers had been adopted and cared for by a wonderful man. Ed owed everything to his pa. He had decided he would never marry. He would care for his pa, the family, and the ranch; but could he do any less for this young girl. But she had lied to the mistress how could he ever trust the pretty young thing.

Ed's came to send cattle on the train to their buyer but with the train derailment he is forced to drive them across country. He takes the two girls to his home and leaves them with one of his brothers. Fran knows they are being followed so she and Emma hide in the chuck wagon. So begins their adventure.

A great story full of action and adventure. You will love it. God bless you all, see you Friday.

Out of Control by Mary Connealy

My book review today is on the book Out of Control. This is the first book in The Kincaid Brides Series. Mary is an awesome story teller and this one is excellent. It is a well written story of two families of broken people. One family drew closer to God in their difficulties and one turned away. This is a cute story of how these two families deal with a life threatening situation. I loved it, you will laugh,(a lot) you will cry, and your heart will be touched.

Julian Gilliland is the daughter of a hard man. He has traveled constantly through out her life. Julia was left basically to raise herself. Wondering through the country was her one joy and she has become enthralled with geology. Now stranded in a ramshackle cabin in Colorado with her father's young wife, her baby sister, and another baby on it's way she discovers a cavern containing fossils. She is thrilled but on one of her exploration trips she hears someone down in the cavern with her. Blowing out the lantern she hides but can't find her way out, she is lost in the dark.

Rafe Kincaid owns a ranch in Colorado. His childhood was full of horror and pain, his brothers had left home and he was just trying to run the ranch. Now his middle brother was coming home to visit so he went out to the cavern where all their pain had started but he hears a woman scream and finds a hysterical woman trapped down there. He rescues her but his adventures are just starting.

This is a must read, be sure and get a copy. God bless you all and have a great week.

Smoky Mountain Investigation by Annslee Urban

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Smoky Mountain Investigation. I don't think I have ever read any of Annslee's books before but I did enjoy this one and look forward to her next one. This book is well written, full of action, and very hard to put down. I liked her characters, they were a bit on the broken side but you will love that about them. Faith is interwoven in her story and will touch your heart.

Kylie Harper is a journalist in a small town. She receives a phone call; the man calls her a murder and tells her he was there ten years ago when she killed a man, then tells her he left a gift for her at the airport. She finds a dead body on the baggage carousel. The man had been killed the in same way as her friend all those years ago. His death had cost her the love of the only man she had ever wanted.

Ex-Delta Force Captain Nick Bentley returns to his Smoky Mountain home not because he wanted to but because his brother had been injured and needed him. Nick had blamed himself when his best friend was killed a decade ago. His guilt forced him to leave the only woman he had ever loved and join the service. Returning brought it all back and the guilt he carried; as he left the plane he encountered the police, Kylie, and a dead body. As he tries to protect Kylie they are drawn into a trail of murders and torment.

A great story, a journey to overcoming guilt and finding restoration and redemption. I know you will love the story. You can find it at Amazon.com with the address below. God bless you all and have a great weekend. I get to go to my first grandson's wedding. It's hard to believe he is ready for that. It seems like yesterday that he was born.

Plain Admirer by Patricia Davids

My book review today in on the Love Inspired, Plain Admirer. It's a part of the Brides of Amish Country Series. I really enjoy books about the Amish and Patricia's are some of the best. This one is no exception. I love the concept of a simpler life, although it would definitely be a lot more work and I'm not able to go along with all their beliefs. This book is well written and you will love the characters, well maybe not her brother so much.

Joann Yoder is a spinster in her Amish Community. Her parents have passed a way and her brothers have taken over her care. She spends three months with each one and then moves on to the next. She dreams of having a home of her own and has almost made that possible when her boss calls her in and tells her she fired but must train his nephew to replace her. Her world has shattered.

Roman Weaver was in a terrifying accident where he lost the use of his left arm. Unable to work in his family's saw mill, he takes a job in his uncles printing shop. The job is totally foreign to him so he must train with Joann. He takes real delight in irritating her and watching her eyes turn to flames. How could he ever have thought that she was plain? The pressure at work is too much for him so he goes to the lake to see if he can still fish and find peace but what he finds is a beautiful new fishing pole. He leaves the pole with a note for the fisherman that lost it.

Joann is drawn to this man she must teach but is discouraged by losing everything she held dear. When she goes fishing with her brothers family he accuses her of vanity because she had bought a new rod and reel. He throws it into the lake. Broken hearted Joann returns a couple days later and finds not only her pole but a note. She answers the note and becomes involved in a secret pen pal relationship that brings her peace and joy.

A great story of devotion and restoration. God has a plan for all of us if we just seek him. I know you will enjoy this book. You may find it on Amazon. God bless you all.

My book review today is on the book Heartsong, this is the first book in the Sisterhood of Shepherds. I was given this book to read and review it. My thoughts on this book are my own and not solicited. I enjoyed the book and found it heart warming. It's a cute story. I know you will enjoy the characters and all their complications.

Kissed by a Cowboy by Lacy Williams

My book review today is An Inspy Kisses Novella, Kissed by a Cowboy. I really enjoyed this book. I live in Nebraska and Cowboys are everywhere. I was once very into Cowboys but now I'm saved an delivered from them but I do have a special place in my heart for them. If I could have a Christian one I'm sure I would have fallen hard. This is a cute love story, it's well written, and you will love the characters.

Haley Carson was a shy young girl that had been moved from place to place all her life. Finally in her senior year her aunt asked her to stay with her and not move on with her father. Her best friend, Katie (the only one she ever had) told her she had to go to prom. Katie would get her a date no matter what. The dated ended up being her older brother, a football star, and a good looking college man. Haley felt bad he was stuck with her but at the end of the night he had kissed her, a kiss she was never able to forget. Now years later she returns, her aunt is terminally ill. Haley's not that shy girl anymore but a self confident woman.

Maddox Michaels had been forced to leave college and go home. He now had the responsibility of the farm, his seriously injured brother Justin, and his orphaned niece Olivia. Not able to keep up with the cost of living, medical bills, and the mortgage he is forced to get a job on a harvesting crew. Haley calls to tell him Olivia had road her bike into town to go to the bank to get a loan but the bank was close. She brought his niece to her aunt's house. Maddox just got back from four days of working and was a mess, this was not how he wanted to see Haley again.

A journey of renewed love, restoration, and God's healing powers. I highly recommend this book. I love Lacy's work and I know you will too.

Critical Diagnosis by Alison Stone

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Critical Diagnosis. I really enjoyed this book. This is only the second book I have read by Alison but she does a great job with her suspense. It is well written, fast paced, and you will love her characters. Although the characters are broken and hurting, I love the way she weaves her faith into the story to help them find God's will for their lives.

Dr. Lily McAllister has spent her life trying to find a cure for a disease that took her mother's life and now threatens to destroy her young niece. She has discovered a promising treatment, not a cure but a way of treating it effectively but she is suddenly attacked. She now has a stalker following her every move. Her research has been confiscated will it be compromised so that they are unable to go to trials.

Dr. James O'Reilly has left the army and has come home to work in his father's clinic. His grandfather who raised him after his missionary parents were killed, expects him to take over the family pharmaceutical company but James only wants to reenlist and care for the lost and hurting people in the third world countries. Using his training with the army he is able to help Lily, he must keep her safe and find this predator. He needed to find a way to protect her but also protect his heart from this beauty because he could face loosing another person that he loved.

Awesome story! You need to run out and get a copy. God bless you and have a great week.

The Warrior's Vow by Christina Rich

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical, The Warrior's Vow. I wrote a review on The Guardian's Promise and this book is a follow up. She didn't put it in a series but they go together. I loved these books. I think it would be so hard to write stories about a time before Jesus came. How people could live and stay true to God in the old  covenant is beyond me. This story takes place in 835 BC. The story is well written and I love the characters.

Abigail is the daughter of the wicked Queen Athaliah of Judah. Her mother had repeatedly told her what a disappointment she was. How her lack of beauty was a humiliation to the queen, so she was forced to live in her chambers. When the queen is killed and Joash is placed in her place, Abigail and her entourage flee for their lives. Captain Suph of the Queen's Army has Abigail under his "protection" with every intention of forcing her to marry him and ruling Judah through her.

Jesse was one of the warriors that over threw the Queen's reign. He was the man that killed the queen but now he has been captured by Suph. The captain used him for target practice with his knife and had badly beaten him. The captain presented Jesse's broken body to Abigail as a gift. She takes him and calls for a healer and they bind up his wounds.

Abigail is drawn to the young warrior and fearing for his life, she and her friends flee with him. Jesse is a man of God, Abigail is a idol worshiper; although he can't allow a relationship with her, He vows to protect her.

A great story of a search for truth and the one true God. I know you will want to read it. God bless you and have a great week end.

Flood Zone by Dana Mentink

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Flood Zone. This is the third book in the Stormswept Series. I love Dana's work and I have really enjoyed this series. I was glad that she has kept all of her characters in the family. I thought that was kind of cool. It is well written, full of action, and intrigue but it was also interwoven with faith. This is a book I highly recommend.

Mia Sandoval is the main suspect in the murder of her good friend. Mia's a single mother, her ex-husband is in prison, she has a small daughter in tow and now her life appears to be in danger. Her house is broken into, she turns to Dallas the only man she really knows. Dallas agrees to help her but she soon finds he has betrayed her. Is the man chasing her the murderer, from her ex-husband, or the mob that took over his territory?

Dallas Black is a search and rescue worker. Mia's sister, Antonia hires him to keep Mia and Gracie safe from the mob. Dallas comes from a background as tragic as Mia's but is determined to keep Mia and Gracie safe. The police are sure that both of them are involved in the murder, have them under investigation, and refuses to help them. A storm comes and Mia's home is totally under water, the whole town is flooded, and now he has to find a way to keep her and Gracie safe.

A great story about two wounded and broken hearts forced to come together to save one small child. A journey of hope and faith in the midst of terrible peril. You will love this book but you need to get the whole series. God bless you.

In a Texas Ranger's Arms by Cynthia Hickey

My book review today in on the Heartsong Presents book, In a Texas Ranger's Arms. This is the second book of Cynthia's I've read. I really enjoy her work. As a retired manager in food service; I've always been fascinated by the Harvey Girls. They were so well trained in a time where that didn't really exist.
They were held to a state of excellency, even when they were on their own time, that we could use today.

Katie Gamble joins the Harvey Girls in an effort to hide from her abusive step-father after her mother's death. Katie also took with her the deed to her parents farm back in Missouri, papers stating the finding of oil on her property, and a small amount of cash.(which she returned) This land had been in her family for several generations but although they had lived in abject poverty, they had recently found oil on the property. Her step-father had a warrant out for her arrest; saying that she had stolen the deed, important papers, and all his money. Surly he couldn't find her in this little Texas town.

Texas Ranger Ward Alson goes home to his family. He has been shot and needs to recover but while he is recuperating he meets a beautiful Harvey Girl that works directly under his sister. There is something not quite right about this girl. Ward's Captain sends him orders to investigate the girl. There is an innocence about her but she is hiding something important. Then a man comes to town to accuse her; it's his word against hers.

A journey of faith, of letting go, and trusting God completely. Faith is woven into the story through and through. I love that. God's will is so important in our lives and releasing our faith and letting go is a must to get through this wicked world we live in today. I know you will enjoy this book you need to get a copy. God bless you this week.

The Story of the Unlucky Teacher and Her Koalas by Nina Johnson

My book review today is on the children's book, The Story of the Unlucky Teacher and Her Koalas. I was sent a copy of this book to read and review it. The review is all my own thoughts and I wasn't influenced by the author or the publisher in any way. I enjoyed the book very much but more important my great grand daughter who is almost three and my great grand son who is five enjoyed it. They really liked the colorful pictures and that the Koalas made it in the end. The book is telling a story of how "special" children can still do whatever they set their mind to. This is a lesson that is important even for adults. There is no place in a person's life for the word CAN'T. It's an evil four letter word that should never be tolerated in our homes. The Bible says that nothing is to difficult for our God. All things are possible to those that believe. This is a must read for teachers and educators.

The story is about an unlucky teacher in the village of All-We-Do-Is-Test. They call her the Unlucky
Teacher because she has a class of disabled student. At the end of each year all the students had to participate in  the Big Mountain Climbing Contest. Everyone knew her students wouldn't be able to make it up the mountain.

Great story, you need to get a copy for the kids in your life. God bless you all and drive carefully this weekend.
