A Mail Order Bride He Would Never Forget by Etta Foster

My review today is on the Western Historical Romance, A Mail Order Bride He Would Never Forget. This book was sent to me to read. This review is in my own words and are my own thoughts. The story is well read and full of twists and turns. I know you are going to love it.
Emilia Sterling recently lost her husband and her unborn child. Life seemed to be over for her but she knew that her father would soon be there to force to marry another or to force her to live with him. She lived with her mother until her mother died at age thirteen. She was forced to live with her outlaw father. He taught her how to be a thief then married her off to a man twice her age. She couldn't bare to fall into his hands again. She answers a mail order bride ad and then leaves for Arizona. She is shocked to find the man is a former thief that worked for her father. Now what?
Roy Morgan joined a gang of thieves as a young teen. The leader of the gang had a beautiful young daughter that took his breath away. The other men laughed at him and warned him to stay away from the girl. During a bank robbery Roy tries to protect the people in the bank when the leader was going to shoot them all. Roy stopped them from killing one but was shot himself. Joe, the man he saved helped him. He did go to prison but when he was released Joe brought him to Arizona and when he died he left everything to Roy. Imagine his surprise when his mail order bride turns out to be the girl he was never able to forget.
A struggle to get forget their past and move forward. Their world is trying to keep them a part. God has a plan for these two. A good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too. Give him your heart and watch Him work in your life.

Nanny Witness by Hope White

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Nanny Witness, a Baby Protectors novel. I really enjoy Hope's books. This is an excellent example of her work. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
Carly Winslow is working as a nanny as she gets ready for nursing exam. The job is paying for her student loans and she loved this baby girl. Carly had a rough childhood and has no use for cops. When she hears gunshots down stairs she grabs the baby and leaves the house to go into the woods. On her way she calls 911. She falls down a ravine and a man shows up. He says he's the baby uncle. He's a cop, can she trust him?
Police officer Brody Wittaker is on medical leave after being injured. Would his shoulder ever be the same? He is estranged from his half brother but he's trying to change that. He feels like something is off so he show up at the house unannounced. He arrives to hear gun fire and sees a young woman and baby running into the woods. Not sure if his brother is alive he decides he must help the young woman and the baby. He finds her after she has fallen down an embankment. He takes over to keep them safe. What has his wayward brother got himself into.
A journey of two broken souls eaten away with guilt. Can they learn to forgive themselves, trust each other, and depend on God? God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan on you too. Give Him your heart and watch Him turn your life around.

The Return of the King's Ranger by Angela K Crouch

My review today is on the Historical Novel, The Return of the King's Ranger. This is one of the books of the Hearts at War Series. A story of the post Revolutionary War. I was sent this book to read, this review is in my own words and thoughts. I'm not sure if I've read any of Angela's work before but I did really enjoy this book. This story is well written, heart warming, and you will love these characters.
Nora Reid is the middle daughter of a farmer. Her father was injured years ago and he relies heavily on her help on the farm. Her two older sisters have married and her younger sister has two men chasing her so will marry soon. Nora has just about given up on romance for herself. Along comes a stranger, it is obvious  that he fought in the war. She fakes a fall in the river and a sprained ankle. He gives her a ride to her home. She talks him into staying the night and talks her brother into hiring him. Could he be her happily ever after?
Miles Cunningham returned to the valley to see if he can find out what happened to his family. At sixteen raiders came and burned his family home and took him and his brother to force them into the Continental Army. He had escaped and joined the King's Rangers. It was told to all he had been executed. Miles is filled with hate and bitterness. He tells Nora that his name is  Mathew Crawford. He has no plans on staying in the valley but he overhears Nora talking to her sister about his brother. He must find him and find out what has happened to his sister.
A desperate journey of hate, bitterness, and unforgiveness. How can two people from two different sides come together. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. a good plan and not for evil.

Finding the Broken Cowboy by Cassidy Hanton

My review today is on the Western Romance, Finding the Broken Cowboy. I have never read any of Cassidy's book before but I enjoyed this one. It was sent to me to read and this review is all my own words and ideas. The story is well written, humorous, and intriguing. I'm sure you are going to love it.
Beatrice Foster is a young society woman. She has everything going for her. She over hears her father telling his lawyer that she is to inherit all his estate including his news paper. That night they are on the way to a play when her best friend sends for her. She leaves her family and runs to her friend's home. When she is finished she goes on to the theater only to find her parents have been shot. That night someone breaks into her home and calls out to her. She and her nanny runs for their lives. They go to her uncle's ranch in Montana. The first man she sees insults her and makes her very angry.
Nathan Walsh is the town hero for helping catch some thieves. He is lonely but doesn't have time to find a mate. He finds a beautiful woman eating a loaf of fresh bread like she's starving. Her dress is torn and dirty. He can't help but tease her when a dog comes up to her. She is furious with him. The next time he meets her he insults her. What is wrong with him? Why does she intrigue him so?
A journey of romance and intrigue as someone follows them across the nation. God has a plan for these two, a good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.

Inherited Threat by Jane M. Choate

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Inherited Threat. This is a great read and I know you are going to love it. Jane does a great job in writing suspense stories. This one is well written, action packed and full of faith.
Injured US Army Ranger Laurel Landry and her dog Sammy are here medical leave. She is going through her estranged mother's things. Bernice was murdered last week. In her storage unit she finds a to go bag her mother always kept. In it she finds a picture of two children, Jake and Shelley, a newspaper article about S&J Security/Protection Agency, a ledger in some form of code, named Collective, and several packets of hundred dollar bills. What was her mom doing with information on a group of organized crime families. What was her mother into? She is attacked at the unit but manages to cuff the man to his car and calls then police then took off. She contacted S&J (hoping they might be her siblings) and told them what is going on. The are sending an ex-Ranger to help her.
Ex-Ranger S&J Operative Mace Ransom comes to meet their new client armed to the teeth and ready to tango. As he meets her and she explains what is going on; two men pulled up with guns in hand. They manage to subdue them and leave then for S&J to take care of. Mace is attracted to this amazing woman. He will protect her with his life.
A horrific journey to stay ahead of this crime syndicate that seemed to have unlimited resources and reaches into the high ranks of the nation. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. You might not have killers on your tail but you do have an enemy that is out the steal, kill, and destroy. Give God your heart and watch Him work in your life.

Shifter by Joanna White

My review today is on the Christian Fantasy, Shifter. This is a Valiant Novel. I don't usually read fantasies but I did really enjoy this one. This book is well written and full of colorful characters. There are several twists and turns. I know you will love this one.
Beroan is a shapeshifter. He is of the dragon clan. His father was the Alpha but was killed when Beroan was only thirteen. Now the Alpha has decided to kill all the humans and take back their world. Beroan doesn't agree with this decision. He tries to help a human woman during an attack and is punished and band from his tribe. He goes to the other clans to see if they will help him fight this evil.
In the village of the wolf clan he meets an young woman that is human. She is beautiful and innocent and he falls in love with her. When he leaves to search for other clans to help she follows. Can he protect her? Can he keep the fact that his is one of the dragons that attacked her family from her?
Nsi was orphaned several years ago. Her family was destroyed by the dragons. She and her cousin went to another village and was raised by her grandmother. Now that village has been destroyed and the three of them moved to another village. Nsi can't sleep and hides in a tree while she is thinking about all that has happened a man climb up her tree. They visit and she finally leaves but she is drawn to this wonderful man. They are together a lot and then he tells her he is leaving. She feels she must stay with him so she follows them. The journey is full of surprises. How can she deal with all these changes?
This is a journey of right and wrong, light and darkness. Can the light conquer the darkness? God has a plan for these shapeshifters and the humans. He sends them help when it looks like there is no hope. God has a plan for you too. Give Him your life, lay it at His feet and then watch Him move in your life.

Dead Silence by Susan Sleeman

My review today is on the Romantic Suspense, Dead Silence. This is book two in the Truth Seekers Series. I'm always thrilled to get one of Susan's books. I'm not sure how she keeps coming up with new and wonderful stories. I don't think I've ever read one of her books I didn't really like. This book is no exception. It's well written, action packed, and almost impossible to put down. Not only that but it is filled with faith. I know you are going to love this one. I can't wait for the next one to come out. I really enjoy visiting the Blackwell family too.
Veritas Center Forensic Anthropologist Kelsey Moore and her step son are just leaving the grocery store one night when someone tries to abduct the boy. The man is getting away with Jace when a scruffy looking man stops the abduction and rescues the boy. The man really looks rough. He ends up being an undercover DEA agent. He talks to the police for her and she heads home. She hires Blackwell Tactical to protect Jace. She learns the next morning that there is something wrong about her deceased husbands records. Could he have bought Jace?
DEA Agent Devon Dunbar is under cover. He is investigating the Sotos Cartel. He is watching one of the members when he witnesses the man try to abduct a young boy. He manages to stop the man without blowing his cover but what is this all about. He knows there is a part of Sotos that is into baby trafficking but this boy is much older. Did this woman buy the baby and they are trying to get him back? That didn't really make since. Is she a part of this, what secrets are she keeping from him? Kelsey not having full custody of Jace is a red flag. Even though he is attracted to the woman he will find out what's going on here if it's the last thing he does. He will keep this little family safe though.
A devastating journey as they find out more about how Jace became Todd's and how someone wants to tie up loose ends. God has a plan for this family, a plan for a hope and a future. Winter's Rise by Mary Stone

My review today is on the suspense, Winter's Rise. This book is the fourth book in the Winter Black Series. As I have told you with each of these books it's not a Christian book. There is foul language; just so you know. I really liked this book. There is a lot of violence and that's hard to read especially when dealing with serial killers. The story is well written, action packed and full of suspense. I know you will want to read it.
FBI Agent Winter Black has taken a leave of absence. The killer she has been after since she was thirteen has been killed, her grandfather that raised her is unwell, and she finds out that her dead brother is alive. The team notify her that they have a lead on her brother. She returns but isn't the same person. She has her team worried. She must deal with the people she really doesn't want to deal with. They soon find a dead body that is unlike any body they have found before. What kind of killer are they dealing with? The body was is a fifty gallon drum filled with lye. It has been autopsied and the brain removed. The killer must be a surgeon.
A journey of a serial killer that is out to find supernatural powers from people with head trauma as a child. Collateral damage is not a problem with this killer.

The Waves Break Gray by Sibella Giorello

My review today is on the Romantic Suspense, The Waves Break Gray. This is the first book in the Raleigh Harmon PI Mystery Series. I was sent this book. This review is in my own words and thoughts. I have never read any of her books before but I enjoyed this book so much I signed up for her news letter. I hope to read more of her work. I really enjoyed the characters. I don't usually like books in the first person but I did this one. The story is well written and action packed.
Forensic Geologist Raleigh Harmon was working for the FBI but left under mutual agreement. She goes on a hiking trip with her friend and ex-coworker, Jack. On the hike her dog starts barking and when they find her they also find a dead body. They call it in and then she stands there and criticizes the moving of the body. They obviously didn't know what they were doing. She must hurry home to get to the mental hospital to see her mother. A friend of hers asked her to take the case and help him. She refuses; she must be at the mental hospital each day for her mother. Jack asked her to take a case in the same town as a consultant that has been classified as a hate crime. (her specialty) She finally agrees when he tells her he will fly her up each day and get her back in time to see her mother.. But she soon needs to distance herself from the attraction that's growing with in her.
FBI Special Agent Jack Stephanson takes Raleigh to his home town to have a personal conversation. He is about to ask her a personal question and maybe give her a kiss when her dog starts barking. They travel up the mountain and find a hand sticking up out of the ground. Raleigh goes into professional mode. He helps with the police and then flies her home. He asks her to help him with a case that is taking place at the same town. He wants her to find herself and see her worth after being let go by the FBI. But she keeps pulling away from him. How can he keep her safe?
A journey to terror as she finds that there is a killer in the small town. Two young girls are murdered and Raleigh soon becomes the next target. Amish Covert Operation by Meghan Carver

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Amish Covert Operation. I'm sure I've told you many time that I really like Amish fiction and I also really like suspense; this book is a no brainier for me. I do enjoy Meghan's work. She's fairly new to LIS but her books are exceptional. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. You will love it I'm sure.
Widow Katie Schwartz's has twin girls. They live alone but her brother helps her family but she hasn't seen him for over two months. Something is going on with him. She goes to his home but finds no one there. She goes to a hunting cabin they use to play at. She finds her bruder but he is held at gun point. He yells for her to run. As she runs she hears a gun shot and then someone is shooting at her. She falls and is helped up by a man with a gun. Who is he? Is this the end or is he here to help her?
Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent Adam Troyer rescues the Amish woman, he's not sure if she is who she seems to be or a part of this criminal ring? He must keep her close until he knows. They climb a tree to escape but Katie is shot. The police arrive. Help is finally here. But this is just the beginning.
An undercover journey into the Amish world. Can Adam keep Katie safe and help her bruder? Both of them carry a lot of baggage. God has a plan for these broken souls. A plan for a hope and a future. Deep Undercover by Lenora Worth

My review today is one the Love Inspired Suspense, Deep Cover. This is book four in the True Blue K-9 Unit Continuity Series. I have really enjoyed this series. It has been written by some of my favorite authors. This book is no exception. I am a true fan of Lenora's work. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it. Although it is part of a series but it is a book that can stand alone. A great read!
K-9 Officer Gavin Sutherland has had some problems in his unit. He had made no bones about the fact that he felt he deserved to have the chief's job but Jordan Jameson got the job. He was really upset about the whole thing but then Jordan was killed and all eyes looked to him. Then his brother Noah was given the job. Gavin can't help being a little bit bitter. He is determined to find Jordan's killer. Now he and his partner Tommy are assigned to watch the shoulder of the East River waiting for the fourth of July fireworks. Tommy is a bomb detection dog. His rookie partner, a woman that he finds extremely attractive, and her K-9 partner walks up to him. Bringing him a bottle of water. Both dogs alert and Gavin sens the rookie and her K-9 after the man who had recently had a backpack but didn't now. Tommy alerts and he finds the backpack and Gavin tries to get people clear of the area. The crowd panics. The bomb goes off but everyone is safe for now.
Rookie K-9 Officer Brianne Hayes was to have graduated the day their boss disappeared and was later found dead. So now she is the rookie without certification. Stella, her K-9 partner is being trained to bomb detection. Brianne felt like she had to work harder than the others to prove her worth. She has some real trust issues. She hadn't been happy to be pared off with this man but now her thinking has completely changed and she finds herself attracted to the man.
They find themselves in a journey to find the bomber. They go undercover as a married couple to try to flush out the killers. Risky Return by Virginia Vaughan

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Risky Return. This is the third book in the Covert Operatives Series. This is Virginia's tenth book for LIS. Congratulations! I don't know about you but I am thrilled she is a part of the team. I really enjoy her work. This story is well written, action packed, and difficult to put down. She has interwoven faith through out the book. I know you are going to love it.
Ex-Ranger, Security Specialist Collin Walsh returns to his hometown to clean out his mother's house and get it ready to sell. She had died recently. As he is checking out at a store he sees his ex. He had failed her years ago. Should he speak to her? He decides not to but watches her move to her car, as he gets to his car her turns and sees her attacked. Without thinking he runs to save her. The attacker runs off but she refuses to allow him to call the police. What is going on?
Psychologist Rebecca Mason finally allows Collin to call the police. She tells her story about how one of her girls disappeared and she is trying to find her and that she is receiving threats. She doesn't tell him or the police about hiding Missy. Missy had told her the police is involved in the human trafficking ring. How can Rebecca trust Collin when he ran off and left her twelve years ago when she needed him the most?
A journey of terror as human traffickers fight to save their business. Also a journey of second chances. God is the God of second chances. He has a plan for these two, yes they messed up but God's plan is still working in their lives. A plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Short Suspense Stories by Krista Wagner

My review today is on the Suspense book, Short Suspense Stories. This book was sent to me to read. This review is in my own words and not solicited. I enjoyed these short stories. There is a wide variety in their content.
The Investigation: A teenage story of jealousy and murder.
The kidnapping: A serial killer kidnapping and murdering young boys.
The Killing: A murder of jealousy and mental illness.
Whodunit?: The story of a baby left out on the beach to die.
The pursuit: The story of a monster with every intention of destroying a divorced woman and her child.
Most of these stories are young adults suspense but they are all intrigues. They are well written and full of action. I'm sure you are going to really enjoy them.
God has a plan for these people a plan for good and not evil. Good prevails! God has a plan for you too, a plan for a hope and a future. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life.
