Amish Brides by Jennifer Beckstrand, Molly Jebber, and Amy Lilliard

My review today is on the second book in the Amish Brides Novella. Molly did a great job with this story, Joshua's Bride. I always enjoy Molly's work and I know you are going to love it. This story is well written and heartwarming. The book has now been released and you really need to get your copy.

Madeline Leuman receives a proposal. She is thrilled with the thought of joining this wonderful man in marriage and says yes. There is a problem though; Madeline's sister Catherine had been courting with Joshua's brother Nathaniel when she took off and left Lancaster without a word to anyone. Joshua's parents and his brother were upset and refused to give their blessings thinking Madeline would turn out to be just like her sister. It doesn't help the awkward situation when Catherine returns and drops a new born baby at Madeline's door step and then leaves again. Madeline tells Joshua she must raise this child and cannot go against his parents wishes.

Joshua Stutzman has been in love with Madeline for as long as he can remember. He finally asks his father for her hand and then proposes. He is thrilled when she says yes but his family refuses to acknowledge their engagement and are praying they will break up. Joshua starts building their new home and when things get so out of hand at home he can't bare it, he moves into the unfinished house. He loves the baby girl and is determined to raise her as his own. Then Madeline refuses to marry without his family's blessing.

A journey of two people madly in love but unable to wed because of their brother's and sister's past. God has a plan for these two, a plan for good and not for evil. God has a plan for you too. A good plan and not for evil. He loves you and is waiting for you turn to Him. He will turn your life around if you give Him the chance.

Amish Brides by Jennifer Beckstand, Molly Jebber, & Amy Lillard

My review today is on the Amish Novella, Amish Brides. This book is to be released on May 30th. Today I'm going to review The Reluctant Groom. This is another episode of The Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill. I love Anna and Felty. I wish they were my family and would set me up. The story is welly written, humorous, and heart warming. You will love it.

Suvie Newswenger goes to Anna and askes to hire her to help her get a husband. She has fallen in love with their great-grandson, Aaron Beachy. Suvie needs help; she can't cook, she's older than Aaron, and she can't get past his depression. They come up with a plan to bring him food (Anna can't cook either)and plant petunias in his yard but Aaron doesn't want petunias planted in his late wife's garden, especially next to the dead rose bush his wife had planted when they first married.

Widower Aaron Beachy is wallowing in his grief. He can't give up his grief or that would mean forgetting his wife and he can't let that happen. He is unable to work, to cook, or do anything productive. He is just trying to survive. He is eating bran flakes to make him feel worse when suddenly there is a knock on his front door; he hides in the back of his yard bu his memorial rock pile so they would leave him alone. Suvie comes around the house and asks why he didn't open his door. His Mammi and Dawdi were standing on his front porch holding a casserole and a flat of petunias.

A journey of restoration and healing. A man totally broken but God has a plan for him and included the lively woman who loves him. God has a plan for you too. Turn your life over to God and watch Him restore the mess you are in.

Anna's Crossing by Suzanne Woods Fisher

My review today is on the Historical Amish Romance, Anna"s Crossing. This book starts in April of 1737 and has to do with the horrors and trials of crossing the ocean to the New World. The book is well written, much researched, and full of faith. I'm so thankful that I wasn't forced to endure such hardships. I thought the book was well done with the very severe conditions. It is handled well and I'm sure you are going love this book.

Anna Koneg was forced to leave Germany and her precious grandparents with her Amish community. She had no desire to leave everything she loved only to spend months to reach a New World filled with horrors of natives and starvation. There was no future for them in Germany and there lives were in danger. Anna is the only one in her community that can speak English so she must translate for her people. They left their village in April.

June 29th they finally boarded the ship. They would go on to Plymouth before they could cross the ocean. Seasickness soon had everyone under the weather except for a young boy Felix who was like a little brother to Anna. His father had already gone to the New World to purchase land for them. This young boy was her responsibility since her mother is still grieving from the death of her second son. Felix had a cast iron stomach and was able to explore all he wanted while are were ill.

Bairn is the Carpenter of the ship which makes him third in command. His is upset by the fact that the ship is overcrowded and they are not prepared for so many people. Hundred of people were force to live in terrible circumstances in the below deck. The deck hands called the Amish and the Mennonites the "Peculiars." and had little use for them. July they finally got to Plymouth. Bairn was disappointed he was unable to go ashore but would have to deal with these people. He is somehow drawn to this Amish community especially the beautiful Anna. July 17th they finally head out to Philadelphia. October they were finally able to leave the ship. A voyage of twists an turns that turn their wold upside down.

This is a journey of trials and tribulations of survival through horrendous adversities. God has a plan for this little community. A plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. God has a plan for you too. Surrender your heart to Him and watch Him work in your life.
