The Husband Hunt by Karen Kirst

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical, The Husband Hunt by Karen Kirst. I loved this book. I see that I have missed many books in between The Reluctant Outlaw and this one so I'm going to have to go back and see if I can find them because I love these characters. The books are very well written, you will laugh, you will cry, and get very frustrated at how long it takes them to figure out what is going on.

Sophie Tanner has had a difficult life. Her mother died in child birth when she was young, her father ran off and left, and Sophie, at age ten took over the care of her baby brother and her granddad. Sophie has managed to keep the farm running but now her grandfather is dying. Her aunt come to take them away from their home, her only hope is to find a husband. The only man she could ever love, her best friend, doesn't want her. She entreats him to help her find a husband.

Nathan O'Malley is a serious man that has spent his life trying to keep Sophie out of trouble. She is an impulsive girl and he considers it his job to rescue her. He doesn't understand the new feelings that are rising up within him. He can't stand to think of her with any other man but they are too different, they could never get along. Besides he has already decided never to marry.

A great book, you will really want to read. God bless you all

Montana Dreams by Jillian Hart

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Book, Montana Dreams, one of The McKaslin Clan Series, by Jillian Hart. I really enjoy Jillian's stories about the McKaslins. She has strong men characters. I like that. She has a great way of weaving faith into her stories.

Millie Wilson has returned home to care for her dying father. She hasn't been home for ten years. She's estranged from her cruel father, heartbroken by her ex-fiance, and now accompanied by her nine year old son. Simon is a secret she hasn't shared with his father. Did she do the right thing, can he forgive her?

Not only is her father dying he is now meaner than ever. He has run the dairy farm into the ground. How will she be able to pay the bills and keep things going while she cares for the man.

Hunter was told that Millie ran off with another man, so when she comes back to town, almost penniless he's not surprised she has a child in tow. Hunter is drawn to the boy that reminds him of himself at that age. His past feelings force him to help Millie every way he can until her father, in a rage tells him about his son.

A great story! You wonder how she can take what her father deals out and keep on trying to save the farm that will never belong to her. I know you will appreciate her journey. God bless you all.

Motive For Murder by Carol J. Post

My review today is on  the Love Inspired Suspense Book, Motive For Murder by Carol J. Post. This is a great story of a broken family and a woman's effort to find redemption for the past. She encounters people that won't let her forget the past and go on. How many broken lives are there out there. It seems to me that there are more people from abnormal homes than from normal ones. Even Christian homes seem to abuse each other, if not in actions then in words.

Jessica Parker returns to her home town after the death of her sister. She is determined to clear out the house and sell everything, but things don't go her way. Jessica's sister was living way beyond her waitress salary, as she decides to investigate she is threatened and her home is torn to pieces. The chief of police refuses to help and is trying to intimidate her.

FBI Agent Shane Dalton has come to this small town to investigate a case of missing cocaine. He is undercover and is right across the street from Priscilla Parker's home. He's sure her death had something to do with his missing drugs. When he sees someone breaking into the house, he goes into the home to check things out. What he finds is a small woman that beats him up, a second degree black belt.
Even though she obviously can care for herself, he is drawn to watch over her and protect her.

The book is well written and fast paced. I know you will enjoy reading it. It is hard to put down, I will warn you about that. I pray you all have a great week. God bless you.

Treacherous Slopes by Terri Reed

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense Book; Treacherous Slopes by Terri Reed. Terri is an awesome suspense writer, I love her work. This one was a great read. Action packed and fast moving, it was not a book you could lay down. Her main characters are broken souls, both are struggling just to survive. They journey is much like the journey's we must travel. The key is to turn to the Lord and trust Him to show us His plan for us.

Nick Walsh is a champion Ariel Skier. He returns home for a very important race but his ski is sabotaged and he takes a fall. Nick is recovering from the death of his brother and wants to win the Olympic Gold for his brother. Nick is convinced his brothers death is his fault. He should have stopped him from trying the new tricks Nick was doing. Even his parents blamed him. Now someone was trying to stopping him from making the team.

Production Assistant Julie Frost needs a promotion and a raise. She convinces her boss to let her do an interview on hometown hero Nick Walsh. Nick's sponsor loves the idea, now all she had to do is convince Nick. Julie had gone to school with Nick but didn't think he would remember her. She had a major crush on the guy but she could keep it professional, right?

Nick had a lot of problems with the media when his brother died, he wasn't up to trust a reporter now but he remembered little Julie. If he had to have a story done could he trust her or had she changed. Then he became a target, could he keep Julie safe?

I love the Winter Olympics and so it's no wonder I loved this book. We have seen in the past how competition can get out of hand. I know you will love this story too. You guys have a great weekend. I have great news; I am getting hooked up to the internet today. I will not have to go to the library or my daughter's. That will help me so much, so I can spend more time on line. Praise God!

The Reluctant Outlaw by Karen Kirst

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical Book; The Reluctant Outlaw by Karen Kirst. This book is one of the Smoky Mountain Matches. I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and had a lot of action. The heroine was not your normal small town girl. She couldn't cook or sew but could shoot, ride, and hunt like a man. Her characters were flawed but found out they made a good team. I loved the way Karen wove her faith into her stories.

Juliana O'Malley goes to the general store to buy things for her mother's birthday party but a man stands in her way. He tells her she can't go in but head strong Juliana is not to be stopped. After she shoves her way in, she finds a robbery in progress. The leader tells the man from the door to grab her. Juliana is drawn to this rugged, ruthless, criminal who seems to be protecting her from the other men in the gang.

Evan Harrison is out to find the man that killed his brother. He has tracked the killer for almost a year.
kidnapping was not something he had planned to do. Now instead of his mission he was forced to protect the beautiful, strong-willed woman. How could he protect her without blowing his cover? They end up taking a harrowing journey through the Smoky Mountains.

A great story, I loved these characters. You will laugh and then you will cry. I know you will love the book. God bless you all.

The Baby Rescue by Margaret Daley

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense Book The Baby Rescue. This book is a part of the Witness Protection Series. This has been a great series and I have really enjoyed it. Margaret is one of my favorite authors so that is a real plus. This book is very well written as her books always are and it was full of action and suspense. I loved it.

US Marshall Colton Phillips is to transport a witness to Denver. The problem is that this witness is really a criminal who agreed to testify against his boss. Before they are able to get out of St Louis they are attacked. Once they reach Denver, Colton is forced to work with FBI Agent Lisette Sutton. Colton always works alone and he wants to keep it that way. He has no place in his life for beautiful women.

Lisette isn't sure working with Colton is a good idea. He is a fly by the seat of his pants kind of guy, breaking rules whenever he feels he needs to. She is a by the book kind of girl, how can they possibly work together? But a baby"s life is at stake, surely she can keep her attraction in hand.

I love the tension between these two damaged souls as they take the paths that God leads them on. He always has a plan and makes a way where there seems to be no way. I love the Margaret weaves faith into the story. You need to run out and get a copy.

God bless you all have a great week. See you Wednesday!

Race For Gold by Dana Mentink

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense book, Race For Gold by Dana Mentink. I love Dana's books and this one was totally awesome. I so enjoy the Winter Olympics so it stands to reason I would love stories about them. This one is well written and a book you will have trouble putting down. I love her characters, broken and hurting they struggle to find their way finding out that God had a plan all the time.

Laney Thompson and Max Blanco had been the speed skaters that were a sure bet to make the USA Team. A terrible hit and run accident put them out of commission. After months of rehabilitation, Max wasn't able to return to competing because of the damage to his hip so became Laney's trainer. Laney had suffered a brain injury but was at the competition to show the world she was back. Although she suffered nightmares, some problems remembering things, and was forced to write lists for simple things like tying shoelaces, her body was ready. As Lane prepares to compete she finds that she has bigger problems than just memory loss, she now has a stalker. Someone messes with her skates in an attempt to stop her.

Max once hoped to be more than just Laney's trainer but now is determined to keep Laney safe so that she could get the gold they both dreamed of. Threats to stop her, sabotage, a kidnapping, and a man that turns things around to make it look like Laney is making everything up in her damaged brain, Max is determined to keep her safe without revealing his feelings for her.

A great story i know you will love. God bless you all and have a great weekend.

Royal Wedding Threat by Rachelle McCalla

My post today is on the Love Inspired  Suspense book, Royal Wedding Threat by Rachelle McCalla. This book is one of the Protecting the Crown Series. I always love these books about the royal family of Lydia. I enjoy revisiting the couples for weddings and now a baby is coming. Rachelle writes a great suspense story and her characters are so real you can't help but become involved in their lives. She also has a special way with the faith question in her stories.

Ava Wright is a wedding planner. She was hired by the Queen for her wedding; as she had attended weddings planned by Ava back home in Seattle. Then she was asked to stay as there were several weddings coming up. Just before the prince's wedding, Ava's car is blown up by a car bomb, the only thing that saved her was the captain of the guards called her back to argue with her again. The man is so stubborn. She soon finds him to be a man of integrity and is attracted to him even though he is convinced someone is trying to kill her but her heart has been broken and she's not about to let him in.

Captain of the Royal Guards Jason Selini is having a terrible time with the wedding planner. She is the most stubborn woman he has ever met. Their relationship is one argument after another, she doesn't ever see the safety issues that so concern Jason. When Ava's car is blown up right in front of his eyes, he becomes involved in protecting her and finds she is not at all what he thought she was. Will he be able to protect her from the killer.

Great story, I know you will love it.

Service Station Angel by Lisa J Schuster

My post today in on the book Service Station Angel. I was sent a copy to read and review but the opinions are all my own. I really liked this book. I loved the character and the story itself. It was heart warming, I laughed at times and cried at times but was touched. I loved the out of body trip to Heaven, I always wanted to do that and the salvation events were awesome.  There were however quite a few errors in the printing of the story, for instance I had two blank pages, there were several words that were there twice, ect. I found that mildly irritating.

Ernie Price was a middle-aged man who owned a service Station back in the day when it really was a service station. Ernie was a humble man who lived alone. He served his community and his church all of his life; he was a music director for the children's choir in his church, hosting a yearly Christmas Party for the poor children in his community, collecting broken and used toys all year, and then spending all his extra time repairing them. Ernie is beloved by all the town.

A robbery at the local grocery changed his life forever. Paul Lewis and Ernie are shot by the robber and left for dead. A customer comes in and find the two men dying. After taken to the hospital Ernie is pronounced dead. He leaves his body and is taken to Heaven where he is met by his parents and Paul and his family. Ernie is told he isn't finished yet so is sent back to earth.

A great story but I do have a problem with Paul's death. His daughter says that God must have needed another angel in Heaven so  he took her daddy home. I have a problem with that! God doesn't kill people and take daddies from little girls. John 10:10 says, The thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy: I am come that you might have life and that they have it more abundantly. God has nothing to do with the man that picks up a gun and blows people away. Sorry but that is a soap box of mine. I do recommend this book. I know you will be touched by it. God bless you and have a great week.

K-9 Commando by Violetta Kovacs

My post today is on the book K-9 Commando by Violetta Kovacs. I was asked to read this book for review but this is my honest opinion. In her letter she said this was probably the first book by a woman Hungarian and she was right. This was really a great book, I enjoyed it very much. It was well written and touching. I know you will enjoy the stories and adventures.

There are twelve stories about these wonderful dogs, with beautiful pictures of the dogs and their handlers. These stories take place from New York to Germany. The dogs are extremely intelligent crime-fighters, loyal, and brave. They don't receive the credit that they deserve for saving lives, chasing terrorist, finding drugs, and sniffing out bombs.

There isn't anything they wont do for their beloved handlers. The stories are fun to read. Some are quite humorous and some will make you cry. I think you need to read this book.

I hope you all had a great New Year. God bless you all and have a great weekend.
