Heaven Sent by Sherri Schoenborn Murray

My review today is on the Christmas Romance, Heaven Sent. This book takes place in 1965 and brought back a lot of old memories. I really enjoyed it. I remember my parents sitting around watching Lawrence Welk. The story is humorous, well written, and quite believable where the Seven Blocks of Granite are concerned. I know you are going to love it.
Isabelle Bucknell has been selected to attend a Christmas Choir in Silverton about twenty miles a way. She will live with the Cooper family for the next five weeks. Her boyfriend Albert doesn't want her to go, he gives her an awful proposal and promises if she goes he will put her engagement ring on some other girls finger before she comes home. It broke her heart but she goes anyway. She reads what he has written in her autograph book hoping for something sweet but its nothing memorable.
Pastor John Hugg has agreed to host the choir girls but soon realizes it is a way to find him a wife. The seven Granite Girls are praying, gossiping, and doing everything they can to set him up. He meets Isabelle at the grocery story while taking a widow of the church shopping. He is stunned by the woman and begins to flirt with her but the girl disappears. What did he say?
What was the man thinking? He was flirting with her in front of his wife. What kind of a town was this? Izz soon finds out that this is the pastor. What had she got her self into? John assures her he's not married. Attracted to him she assures everyone that she has a sort-of-boyfriend. She tells John she has loved Al since she was eight. She left out the part about being mad at him now. No one believes he's real until one of the Granite girls finds a secret post in her autograph book saying he loves her. Everyone in town knows about the note but Izz. John tells her about it now she's really confused.
Its a journey of one complication after another. You will wonder all through the story which man she will end up with and you will find yourself routing for both of them. You are going to enjoy the journey.

Web of Secrets by Susan Sleeman

My review today is on the novel, Web of Secrets. This book is the third book in the Agents Under Fire Series. I have really enjoyed this series and hate to see it end. This story is awesome, it's well written, timely, and full of suspense. You are going to love it. These stories have all been about serial killers and the brave men and women who set out to stop them. It is a hard subject but we are surrounded by violence and the enemy trying to destroy us. Susan handles this difficult topic in an amazing way. I appreciate her work.
Sixteen years ago Special Agent Rebecca Lange (Lauren Nichols)was kidnapped with her foster sister by a mad man. Becca escaped but is haunted by the monster that tried to cut off her ears and carved a five in her belly. She never told anyone about it other than the cop who rescued her, faked her death, put her in a new foster home, and changed her name. She had to live with the guilt of leaving her sister Molly to suffer at the hands of this killer. Now suddenly the killer has returned. She is an expert on the man and is called to help the police force find the Van Gogh killer when they find body number nine. Could it be Molly?
Detective Conner Warren is drawn to the beautiful Becca, the best friend of his partner's wife. It's easy for him to take her with him and to work with her to find this serial killer. She studied this  killer at Quantico and she's an expert on the case. Conner doesn't want her exposed to all horrors of the case, knowing everywhere she looks she sees her foster sister.
Reginald Zwicky, Van Gogh had become obsessed with finding Lauren, the one who got away. He had recaptured Molly and tortured her trying to find out Lauren's new name. He finally decided he would watch at the funeral and find her. He was use to living in the shadows because of all the scars on his face. Since his mother had died six months ago he had been able to continue his work with purifying these young girls but Lauren he wanted as his own.
A journey to terror; a mad man out to purify all the foster girls, a detective trying to keep the woman he loves safe and find the killer, and an FBI Agent trying to forget her guilt and find this mad man before he can kill again. God has a plan for them, a good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too. Give Him your heart and watch Him turn your life around.

Mission Undercover by Virginia Vaughan

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Mission Undercover. This is the fifth book in the Rangers Under Fire Series. I always enjoy Virginia's work and I know you do too. This book is well written, action packed, and full of drama. She has also woven her faith throughout the story. I always love that.
Undercover Ex-Ranger Blake Michaels is investigating corruption in the North Shore Police Department when he is called by one of the officers to meet him at the hospital. He is held at gun point while Mason explains how Blake had betrayed him and his men and he was going to kill him. He was going to kill his deceased partners wife and then kill Blake making it look like a murder/suicide. Blake escapes, but is wounded. He takes Holly with him and they go on the run. Blake had been badly betrayed by a woman and how can he learn to trust this woman?
Holly Mathis is leaving the hospital after a hard day at the hospital. She is exhausted and thinking about the journal she had recently found in a hidden compartment in a closet. Her husband had been investigating fellow officers. She had believed her husband was killed in the line of duty and now she knows that was a lie. She had shown the chief a photo copy of a few pages claiming Mason as a dirty cop but he didn't seem responsive and just told her to bring it to him. After her home had been trashed she knew she couldn't trust the chief. As she gets to her car Mason comes up to her with a gun, he has the copies of the pages, and tells her he is going to kill her. He wants the journal. She is rescued by a handsome man she had never seen before but he is wounded. Can she trust him and how can they get away from this mad man?
A struggle of these two trying to get out of a city that is bound by water on all sides but one and that side has roadblocks from the police. Can these two learn to trust each other and trust God to get them out of this terrible situation. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Give Him your heart and watch Him work out your problems.

Moving Target by Lynette Eason

My review today is on the thriller, Moving Target. This is the third book in the Elite Guardian Series. I really enjoy Lynette's work and this series is awesome. This book is well written, action packed, and has very interesting characters. It's hard to get in the mind of a serial killer but she does an excellent job with this book.
Maddie McKay is one of the guardians of the Elite Guardians Unit. She is overcoming and attack where her throat was slit (book one) and has been taking care of her friend Quinn who was badly injured and his legs smashed.(book two) They are now out to eat to celebrate his release from physical therapy.
Quinn has been a real bear during his recuperation but Maddy has stayed by his side because she loves him but when he throws a fit about the birthday party their friends are throwing him she has had enough. She tells him off and then leaves the restaurant and goes home. He doesn't even try to stop her.
Detective Quinn Holcome is shocked when Maddie stomps out. After all they had been through he thought she would be by his side forever. Sure he'd been a pain but he had been going through a lot. He guessed he'd have to find her and apologize. He couldn't imagine going on with out her. She refuses to answer the door. When he looks in he sees her on the floor. Then he is also taken
The Chosen One has waited six years for God to take vengeance on the death of his loved one. Now he sees God has chosen him to do the vengeance for Him. Nine months and eight bodies after his revelation he enters Maddie McKay's home to abduct her. He drugs her and then waits for Quinn to show up. They then disappear and end up on an island in the middle of no where. It was where the Chosen One had set up an elaborate hunting game.
This is a cunning journey to survive the plannings of a mad man. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Most of us will never encounter a serial killer but we do have an enemy that is out to steal, kill and destroy. He is really good at it and most people don't even believe he exists. We have a tendency to blame God for all the terrible things that happen and we just accept it as God's will but God is good and His plan is for good and not for evil. Give your heart to Jesus, trust God to move in your life, and watch Him work in your life.

Mail Order Bride: Indian Bride Forever by Leah Laurens

My review today is on A Western Romance Story, Mail Order Bride: Indian Bride Forever. This is the first book of Leah's that I have read but I enjoyed it very much. My followers all know I love mail order bride or wedding of convenience stories. This one is really different and I did like that. The book is well written, heart rending, and full of adventure. I know you are going to love it.
This story is in three parts. It is about an Indian prophesy for the Tonkawa Tribe. The prophesy states that three different women would come to them, one with hair like the moon, one with dark hair and one with hair like fire, they would have the mark of the moon.
The first part is with Auil, Katherine Banks, a white captive of the criminal Karankawa tribe sold by her mother to one of the braves. She is pregnant with her husband's child. The warrior had been cruel to his wife and had told her she must have a male child. When she gave birth the child is a girl; she find out that her husband has died in a raid but the tribe is debating over whether to kill the girl child or bury the child with her father so she can go with him into the next world. Auil must run. The other white woman in the tribe, Cali-Cle helps her escape. She hides in a sacred cave, she finds a paper with a mail order bride ad. She applies to it but just before they are to meet Trader Joshua Hamilton finds her in the cave. She wasn't what he expects but he takes her home to marry as he has a two year old son to raise. He is warned by a friend that her tribe was looking for her. He takes her to the Tonkawa Tribe to marry. The women bathe her and finds the moon mark on her back, she is one from the prophesy and they will protect them.
The second part is about a white woman born in the sacred cave. she is found by an Indian woman and taken home to raise. Also and Indian boy child is also born in this sacred cave the same year. This child was found by a white man and taken home to raise as a ranch hand. Cali-Cle sees Auil marriage and decides to apply to a mail order ad. She answers John Tipton; she is looking for a respectable white man to get revenge on the parents that abandon her; he is looking for a respectable white woman to help him fit in. She tries to help another white captive and is captured and punished. John and his friend Noxul rescue both Cali-Cle and the white captive. They take them to the cave and Noxul see the moon mark on Cali-Cle hip, she is one of the prophesy. The four split up and John takes her home to marry.
The third part is about a badly abused woman, Annie Langley trying to escape her deceased husband's brother. She is heavy with child and has no choice but to answer a mail order bride ad. The groom gambles the contract away and Noxul wins her. He seeks the woman to help her. When Cali-Cle tells of Annie's capture he is determined to save her. He asks John to help him. They rescue both the women and takes them to the sacred cave but Annie but she goes into labor before Nozul can help her escape the cave. He delivers the boy child and then takes her to his tribe but before they can get there she takes a severe fever. Trying to save her life he finds that she also has the moon mark. They now have all three of the women of the prophesy. He takes her to the tribe.
This is a great journey of these six souls. God has a plan for these people; a plan for hope and a future in a world that is in chaos. God has a plan for you too. Navy Commander Leo Darius learns he is a target for terrorists. He goes to a gala to receive a secret message but notices a beautiful woman that turns to him but they are shot at. He soon realizes he is the target of the killer. He is a widower and has two young girls to think about and protect. He agrees to have Ash Private Security give him a bodyguard and it turns out to be the beautiful woman he had helped at the gala. How can he protect his heart and find these killers?
Security Specialist Zoe Dean goes to a military gala the find out information on a terrorist group called The Anemoi. When she is helped by the Commander she shares some of the characteristics of this group. It turns out that he is the new target. Zoe must find out why and keep Leo safe but at the same time he is trying to protect her.
A great journey of two souls drawn together but refuse to love again. They struggle to find out who targeted him and why. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Give Him your trust and watch Him turn your life around.
