My review today is on the Medieval Romance, Adoration. This is book five in the Sword and the Cross Chronicles. I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed this series. I can't believe I'm going to have to wait a long time for the next one. I really enjoy the way Olivia writes her stories. I liked Darrin when he was but a thief in the forest. He was much like Robin Hood. Now to learn he was really a noble who had been betrayed by the woman he loved. This book is well written, full of action, and all kinds of twists. You are going to love it.
Sir Darrin de Longue was a noble who was accused of killing his father. What hurt the most was the woman he loved testified against him. He fled to England and lived in the forest. He became a thief and had many men under his command. When his best friend married (book four) he decided to return to France with King Richard. The king had promised to restore his home Chateau du Vent Doux. The king is injured and he calls for Darrin. He confesses that Faith de Saint-Marie is his legitimate daughter. The king then dies. Darrin goes home to take over his heart full of bitterness and anger. He throws out his uncle who he believes really killed his father. He marries the woman he has come to hate as much as he once loved. Now to seek vengeance over them all
Faith de Saint-Marie had been brought to the Chateau when she was but four. She never knew her parents but had been left at a convent. A nun had come with her to the Chateau and took care of her. She and Darrin had played as children and she has loved him since she was but a child. She was forced to testify against Darrin by his uncle who would kill the nun if she refused. Now the uncle is forced to leave and Faith is married to Darrin his first night at home. She refuses to sleep with him since he is an unbeliever. She finally makes a deal with him if he will go to the daily prayers for one month she will become his wife.
Something is going on in the Chateau. Sheep being stolen, animals being slaughtered, and Darrin stabbed in the back. Who was trying to destroy the Chateau or run Darrin off. This is a struggle of two heartbroken souls brought together by a king trying to make sure his child would have the chance he wanted for her. They must learn to trust each other as the attacks keep coming. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. High-Risk Investigation by Jane M. Choate

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, High-Risk Investigation. I enjoy all of Jane's books and this one is excellent. It's well written, action packed, and fast paced. She has woven her faith throughout the story like a fine tapestry. I know you are going to love this one.
Journalist Scout McAdams makes her mother's investigation her first priority after her parents death. Her mother was a best seller true-crime writer and was in the middle of an expose. Scout must find out what is going on even though someone is trying to stop her.
S&J Security/Protection Operative Nicco Santonni is hired by his sister-in-lae to be a body guard to protect Scout. It is suppose to be a secret. The threatening letters she has been receiving has his sister-in-law really worried about her friend. As a former Army Ranger it will take all of his training to keep them alive.
A journey of two courageous souls battling their enemies to find their way to true love. God has a plan for these two, a plan for good and not for evil. God has a plan for you too, a plan for a hope and a future. Give Him your heart, trust Him, and watch Him move in your life.
