Sudden Recall by Lisa Phillips

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Sudden Recall. I really enjoyed this book and I'm sure you will too. The story is well written, action packed, and faith filled. You will enjoy these characters even though they are flawed complicated individuals. I had a seizure over forty years ago and when I came to I didn't know who I was or where I was. It was the worse thing I went through in my life. Although my memory loss only lasted a few hours I remember it like it was yesterday. So this book spoke to me.

Former CIA Agent Sienna Cartwright was injured and spent a year in a coma; she woke with a case of total amnesia. Now a year later she was now living on a farm with her aunt. She has a flat tire and a man that claimed to be a part of her past stopped to help her but they are attacked. Two masked men in black pulled over and starting shooting at them with machine guns. A helicopter flies over them trying to locate them. What was going on here?

US Marshal Jackson Parker stops to help the woman he once loved. Jackson had once been a Navy Seal and met Sienna on one of their missions. They were to meet each other to see what the future held for them but she had never shown up.Why was she trying to pretend she didn't know him? She told him someone was coming and they were then attacked. Were they after her or after him? This is the first time they had been alone together so it was hard to tell. They took off running after the men killed his truck.

This a great journey of two people meant to be together but circumstances had driven them a part. God is bringing them together for a purpose. God has a plan and it would bring all the evil out into the open. God has a plan for you too. Just give Him control and stand back and watch Him work. God is so good.

Valeria's Cross by Kathi Macias and Susan Wales

My review today is on the historical novel Valeria's Cross. This story is about the great persecution that took place in the early days of the church through the hands of the Roman Empire. I wish I could say I enjoyed this book but something so horrible is hard to enjoy. I was intrigued and found the book fascinating.  The main characters have been fictionalized based on the historical dates and events.

Roman Emperor Doicletian's daughter, Valeria is fourteen years old when the book starts. She falls in love with a handsome Theban soldier named Mauritius. Both are strong Christians and her mother is pleased with the match. They start planning the wedding. Mauritius and his men are called to war with the Roman army. Mauitius give Valeria his cross as a token to remember him by.

General Galerius meets the beautiful young daughter and is consumed by his desire for her. After the battle the General convinces the emperor that the soldiers must offer the captive Christian soldiers to their pagan gods to appease them. Any man refusing to sacrifice will be killed. Mauitius and the entire Theban Legion are beheaded and thrown into the sea because of the beliefs.

Upon their return to the palace Valeria is heart broken to find her love has been killed. She is then forced to marry Galerius as soon as he gets rid of his first wife. Valeria refuses because of her father and Galerius murdering the man she loved but she has no choice and ends up his wife. He gives her his baby son to raise as her own but she remains barren

The story continues through the life of this courageous woman until her untimely death. It was once hard to believe these things could happen but now with ISIS and the other terrorist we are dealing with, you can see how this could happen even today.

It's an excellent book that has obviously been well researched. It is a great read.

Tailspin by Elizabeth Goddard

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Tailspin. I really enjoyed this book, it's one of those books that you can't put down. Take that into consideration when you pick it up to read. Elizabeth is one of my favorite authors. Her work on suspense is incredible and I'm always thrilled to receive one of her books in the mail. This book is one of the Mountain Cove Series and I have loved everyone of them. This book is well written, action packed, and faith filled. You will want to pre-order it right away. It debuts and April 1.

Sylvie Masters is a professional scuba diver instructor. She recently received word that her mother was killed in a plane crash in Alaska. Her mother was on her way to Mountain Cove, a place Sylvie never would have imagined her mother to go. Something was wrong with this whole picture, especially when you take into consideration the strange text message she received from her mother right before she took off. Sylvie is determined to find her mother's downed plane and find some answers. As she is diving in a cold water channel, she thinks she has found a plane but is attacked before she can identify it. She rises too fast and has a mild case of decompression sickness. Wounded she makes it to the shore of a small island but there is a shooter after her so she runs for her life.

Will  Pierson is a bush pilot from Mountain Cove and is flying over the island when he sees a woman being chased by a rifleman. He can't leave her to die at the man's hand so he lands his plane on the water in front of the woman. He rescues the girl only to find out that she is looking for the plane his mother was flying when she died. God had to have put them together. His plane is shot and they soon have to make a crash landing. How is he ever going to get her to a hyperbaric chamber and keep her safe? Why are men trying to kill her.

This is a journey of their struggle to live while men are attacking them from every direction. Who is out there trying to keep them from finding their mothers plane? Is Sylvie's step father involved? How can they survive? God has a plan for these two and once they acknowledge His plan they see Him working to change their situation. God has a plan for you too. Acknowledge Him and watch Him change your circumstances. It will be far greater than anything you had planned. God bless you.
