My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, The Yuletide Rescue. This book is the first book in her new Alaskan Search and Rescue Series. This book is awesome! I love Margaret's books especially the suspense ones. She write a mean adventure. This book is well written, full of action, and almost impossible to put down. Don't you just love that in a book?
Dr. Aubrey Mathison is on her return trip to Anchorage, she had been working in an isolated village. A good friend of her parents and a dear friend of her own, was flying her home when he has a heart attack and the plane crashes. Bree is able to crawl out of the plane but Jeremiah is dead. She takes what she can from the plane and digs a snow cave to wait out the coming storm. She wakes to find a pack of starving wolves at the cave's opening.
Head of Northern Frontier Search and Rescue Organization, David Stone sends his teams out to find the down plane as soon as the storm allowed them to move. Flying over his section he locates the downed plane. He rescues Bree and is on the way to his own plane when a helicopter flies over the lake and men descend upon the crash scene. Knowing the men are not his own they drop one of the bags and run to the plane and take off.
When he takes Bree home they find that Jeremiah's home had been broken into and ransacked, her bag mysterious reappears, the plane disappears, men are chasing them, and the clinic is searched. Bree finds out she never really knew Jeremiah at all but whatever he was into has put her in serious trouble. David is determined to keep Bree safe. A must read!
