Temptation in Maverick County by Evelyn Boyett

My review today is on A Western Romance, Temptation in Maverick County. I have never read any of Evelyn's books before. I was sent this book and the words of this review are all my own. I enjoyed this book very much. It's well written, action packed, and full of twists and turns. I'm sure you are going to love it.
Charlie Witt is the son of a cruel man. He keeps his father's picture remind himself never to become like his father. Charlie is known as being a fair and kind man. He keeps to himself and wants to manage his ranch. A good friend of his, a young Indian boy brings a beautiful young woman that had been in an attack on a wagon train. The young Indian boy is killed. The problems of town is forcing his hand.
Lillian Beck is on her way to Ponowood when the wagon train is attacked one night. The men were killed, babies were shot, the women were raped, and all were burned. Lillian hid under a wagon and watch all the horror; she is found by a young Indian boy completely beside herself. He brings her to Charlie. He and his housekeeper help her to heal. She is the only witness of the massacre.
A struggle of good over evil as these two fall in love and hope for a future. Can they save the town with out losing more? God has a plan for these two a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil.

A River Too Deep by Sydney Tooman Betts

My review today is on the Historical novel, A River Too Deep. This is a novel of loss, love, and faithfulness. I have never read any of Sydney's books before. I enjoyed this one very much. I hope to read more of her work. This story is well written, action packed, and full of twists and turns. It's a hard book to put down.
Alcy Callen and her father received word that his long lost step brother was alive, well, and a changed man. They travel to meet Henry and become a part of his life. It isn't long before Henry becomes overly familiar with Alcy making her very uncomfortable. Her father brushes it off saying she is a very beautiful woman. They aren't really related maybe he is interested in courting her. This  makes thing even more uncomfortable. She has a captain in the military who is interested in courting her. Her father suddenly becomes ill and dies. He made his step brother her guardian. Henry no longer played the caring uncle; he announced that they are to be married on Saturday. She runs to her room and locks the door. He tells her that he would allow it but tomorrow the lock would be off the door. True to his word the lock is removed and Alcy does the only thing she can; she flees. The captain helps her catch a stage coach to the fort. She is free at least until the stagecoach is attacked.
A terrifying journey for the young woman. She is followed by her uncles men, rescued by a man she thinks is her captain only to find it is a savage Indian. She must learn to trust God in all circumstances.
God has a plan for this young woman, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.

Amish Safe House by Debby Giusti

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Amish Safe House. This is the second book in the Amish Witness Protection Series. I really enjoy Amish stories and I really enjoy Suspense so this series is special to me. Also these three author's are three of my favorites. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
Divorced Julia Bradford hears gun fire and realizes her son is out in the street during a gun fight with two rival gangs. Her son William has witnessed a murder. He is spotted at the scene. Although he is friends with some of the gang members (or thinks he is) and their families. They come after him. They break into the apartment as she and her son hide in the bathroom. The police come and take them away. They go into Witness Protection.
Ex-police Officer Abraham King is a widower. His wife and little daughter were killed by a criminal that wanted payback. He left the police force to live a quiet life in an Amish community. He has an extra house on his property where they can live. She will be his housekeeper. He will protect them with his life but can he keep his heart from breaking all over again?
A struggle of hiding and learning a new life style while her son refuses to cooperate. God has plans for this new family, a plan of healing, love, and a future. God has a plan for you too. You might not have a gang after you but you do have an enemy that is out to steal, kill, and destroy you. Jesus came to give you life and that more abundantly. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in you life.

Justice At Morgan Mesa by Jenna Night

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Justice At Morgan Mesa. Jenna is a fairly new author to LIS but she is an awesome writer. This story is well written, action packed, and full of adventure. I know you are going to love this book.
Los Vegas Attorney Vanessa Ford returns to her hometown for a few weeks to help her grandfather. He and some of his friends have bought land to open Silver Horse Guest Ranch. While she is here she intends to investigate her father's murder. She stands at the edge of Morgan Mesa when she hears someone whistling a creepy tune. A twig snaps as someone steps on it but when she turns no one was there. She has no bars on her cell phone and she was too close to the edge. She sees a man with a hammer. A voice tells her to run. She takes off but the only place to hide is at the Heaton House. She breaks into the Heaton House and caused the alarm to go off also the alarm of her car; but the man breaks down the door with his hammer. She hides in the den but he comes after her.
Torchlight Police Lieutenant Levi Hawk answers the call about the alarm at the Heaton House. Probably some kids. When he arrives he finds a car with four slashed tires with the alarm screaming along with the house alarm. The door is broken in, he calls for backup.  He find a woman hiding in the den; the a door badly beaten by a hammer or axe . He doesn't try to follow the guy, he needs to help the woman. She is obviously in some kind of trouble. Can he help her find her father's killer before the man kills her?
A journey of terror as they search for information on her fathers death. They must learn to trust each other and trust God will deliver them from the killer. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a future and a hope. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life.

Wilderness Secrets by Sharon Dunn

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Wilderness Secrets. I really enjoy Sharon's books. She writes a great intrigue. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
DEA Agent Jesse Santorum has been investigating a drug cartel. Now he has been framed, he must reach the plane hidden in the mountains before the drug cartel does. He must hire a guide to take him into the wilderness. His co-worker had told him that he had framed him just  before he died. Jesse will take the drugs, the plane, and fly out of this wilderness. He doesn't need the guide to take him out. After she leaves he is searching the area when he sees two men grab Abigail.
Wilderness Guide Abigail Murphy was just plain mad. Jesse had hired her to take him up the mountain to fish. He said he didn't need her to guide him back. That man is keeping something from her. But then he was a man and she just found out you can't trust them. Brent's betrayal has almost destroyed her. She'll never trust another man. As she stomped through the forest she is abducted by two men.
A journey through the wilderness chased by drug dealers and killers. They must learn to trust each other and in their Lord. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil.

No Safe Place by Sherrie Shackelford

I'm really behind in my reviews so I'm going to do a few extra reviews this week. Today I will review the Love Inspired Suspense, No Safe Place. I always enjoy Sherri's books and I know you will like this one too. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith.
Forensic Accountant Beth Greewood finds a money laundry scheme. She sets the computer to send the evidence to go to the FBI at the first of the week. That gives her some time to get away. Turning away to escape she runs into Clark Kent, at least that's what the female co-workers call him. What's he doing here this late on a holiday weekend? She finally gets away from him only to be attacked on her way out of the building.
Homeland Security Agent Corbin Ross is working undercover investigating Beth. Her name turned up twice in an investigation on a fraudulent account. She is obviously running from something. He witnesses her being attacked. He rescues her and soon realizes she is in serious trouble. He must keep her safe to find out how she's involved in his investigation.
A journey of survive as criminals surround them. Can they trust each other? God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too.

The Janus Journals by H. L. Wegley

My review today is on the Romantic Suspense, The Janus Journals. This is an awesome book and so in the range of possibilities. The story is well written, highly researched, and full of suspense. Faith is an intricate part of this story and is woven though it like a fine tapestry. I know you are going to love it.
Victor Chernoff was trained in Russia to become a sleeper spy in the USA. He becomes Eduard Petrenko and begs for asylum in the United States. Now thirty-five years later he is shot in Alexandria, Virginia. A police officer and a lady come to Alisa Petrenko's door, Alisa knows it's about her father. He had acted strange since he received a phone call last night. He had given her a safety deposit key and told her to go to the bank get the items and read them all, then go to his best friend, Tom if anything happened to him. Her life could be in danger. Trust no one else. She rushes to the bank where she finds several journal her father had written. She returns home to pack but before she goes into her home she calls Grady, Tom's son. Little did she know the assassin was inside her house waiting for her.
Grady Jamison was surprised by Alisa's call. He was on his way out of town. He tells her to go directly to Barnes and Noble, go through the store, out the back door, jump in his car, and lay down in the back seat. He tells her not to go in the house. They would drive to Washington.

Seasons of Romance by Alexa Verde

My review today is on the Romance, Season of Romance. This is book one in the Rios Azules Romance: The Macalisters series. I always enjoy Alexa's books and this is a great example of her work.
This story is well written, heart warming, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
Heart broken Andrey Sergayev moves to Rios Azules to care for his ill nephew when his brother dies. He soon learns he is out of his element when he tries to deal with Ilya's diabetes. The ten year old is grieving for his father and it has caused problems with his disease. Use to being organized and in charge he finds he must rely on his beautiful neighbor's expertise. After the break up of his engagement he wants nothing to do with beautiful women but he needs Melinda.
Paramedic Melinda Macalister has fallen in love with her ten year old neighbor. When his handsome uncle comes to town she feels she must help him learn about the disease. He knows nothing of the disease the boy lives with. With health issues herself she has no desire to fall for this handsome man, after all he is only there for a short time.

Brokken Pursuit by P. Creedin

My review today is on the historical romance Brokken Pursuit. This is a Brokken Road Romance. I was sent this book to read. The words of this review are my own, I know you are going to love this story. This book is well written, heart warming, and full of faith.
Hannah Walsh has trained to become a teacher. She has two beautiful sisters but she is plain. She has decided she will be an old maid and teaching shall be her only hope. Her mentor just died and the school burned down so she is ready to take her place as the head school teacher but on the day she is to start the mayor brings the man he just hired to fill that position. The mayor wants her to be the assistant teacher. Hannah is devastated. It does't help that he is so good looking.
Oliver Holt was wounded in the war and lost his leg. He put everything he had into educating himself so that he could make a living. When he arrives to his first position he finds that he is to replace a beautiful, fiery young woman. He has been deceived by every woman he has met but this woman wears her emotions on her face. He loves that and is intrigued by her.

The Wedding by Joy Ohagwur

My review today is on the romantic thriller, The Wedding. This is book three in The New Rulebook Series. I have really enjoyed this series. This book is well written, action packed and full of twists and turns. I'm sure you are going to love it.
Ruby(Red) and Robert are about to be married. The rings come up missing and they all stressed about them. The Secret Service shows up at the wedding and ends an assassination attempt. The President of the United States shows up and sits on the front row. A carrier shows up with the rings, something is off about that. Immediately after the wedding they are taken to a meeting with the President. The New Rulebook has come to the surface again. They are the only ones to stop it.

Intent: The Beginning by Krista Wagner

My review today is on the story, Intent: The Beginning. This book was sent to me to read. The words of this review are my own. This is a well written story of coming of age. The author did a great job capturing the horrors of high school. I would never want to go back to those horrible days. I'm sure you are going to enjoy this teen's journey through all the pitfalls.
Raylee Johnston is forced by her parents to go to the school she doesn't want to attend. Her parents are pastors and met at that school and are sure she will have a wonderful junior and senior year. Raylee isn't sure that is possible. Although she does have a couple of really good friends attending with her she also has her enemy and her clique that seems to be trying to destroy her. Her only joy is her English Class and Drama. When a new student arrives and takes over her heart in drama, she tries to find a way to let him know she is alive. Her bully moves in on him and breaks Raylee's heart.
A journey of traveling through the horrors of hormones, dreams, and enemies for two years. You will see Raylee grow into a strong young woman as she learns to release her worries to the Lord. My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Mistaken Twin. Jodie is one of my favorite authors so I'm always glad to get one of her books in the mail. I really liked this book. It's well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love this one.
Jenna Clark is in hiding. When her ex beat her and almost killed her, her mother's ex boyfriend helped her escape with a new identity and a new life. Now Logan has found her or at least it looks that way. Or could someone have mistaken her for her dead twin sister? One thing is certain, someone is trying to kill her. Police officer Wyatt Stephens has never really been comfortable with his cousin's best friend. She always seemed to be aloof. He feels like she is hiding something. The Blacksmith's Heart by Nerys Leigh

My review today is on the Historical Western Romance, The Blacksmith's Heart. This is a delightful story. It's well written, humorous and heart warming. I was sent this book to read, the words of this review are mine and mine alone. I know you are going to love it.
Blacksmith Peter Johnson is a widower. His wife died ten years ago during child birth. He has raised his son disabled alone and has allowed his son to become his whole world. Suddenly a young woman shows up at his blacksmith shop. Her brother is the new doctor in town but as they traveled to their new home the axle on their wagon broke and her brother was injured. She left her sister to care for him and she road on ahead to find them help. Peter is fascinated by the feisty woman as he drives her back to her family. Somehow she makes his heart beat a little faster. How can he help this little family and not lose his heart? He has his hands full with a ten year old son who is unable to walk but is willing to try anything.
Malinda Wilson is accompanying her brother and her sister to this new town. She is looking forward to becoming a teacher and independent. She has no desire to marry and have children. No not for her. No man is going to tell her what to do. She just wants to be free.

Snowy Peaks by Joy Ohagwu

My review today is on the Romantic Thriller, Snowy Peaks. This is the second book of The New Rulebook Series. I really enjoyed the first book so I was glad to get the next book. This is a great read!
This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love this one.
Ruby (Red) Masters receives a SOS phone call from the mayor of the small town of Snowy Peaks Maryland. It seems the mad man, Pete Zendal, (first book) has purchased the city. His mercenaries have invaded the town and taken over. Red was the one who stopped him and put him in prison; she's the only one that can stop him now. The problem is that in two weeks she and Robert are to be married. Red takes a team in with her to explore what is going on. She must leave Robert behind as they asked for her. Once they arrive they find themselves attacked and have no way out.
