The Bride Ship by Regina Scott

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical, The Bride Ship. This book is the first book in the Frontier Bachelors Series. I enjoyed this book and learned a lot from the story. I had heard of the Mercer Bells but didn't know exactly what all they went through. I can't imagine being that desperate to sign up for such an endeavor. I liked the whole story line, it was well written, and I loved the characters. Faith was a big part of the story and I love that. It was obviously well researched.

Allegra Banks Howard was widowed during the war. Now her mother-in-law had made her and her young daughter all but prisoners in their home and was trying to force her into marriage with her husband's cousin; in an effort to free herself from an unwanted marriage Allie signs up for the Mercer expedition to Seattle. She is determined to never marry again, to start a new life and to make it on her own.

Clay Howard was expected to take over the family business but left the city to find himself in the frontier. He had asked Allie to go with him but she had refused. He learned later that she had married his brother. Disowned by his family he is shocked to have his mother ask for his help to find Allie and bring her home. As he sets out to bring her home he finds himself caught up in the trip and very much in love with Allie again. Could he build a life with her in Seattle?

As their journey come close to an end they find other problems that are trying to force them apart. A great adventure you can buy it at the address below.
