My review today is on the Romantic Suspense, Looking for Justice. This is the third book in the Target Book Set. I really enjoy Lind's books and I know you are going to love this one. This book is well written; the story deals with the issue of rape and abuse. Linda does a good job handling this situation. It's not an easy subject to deal with. Faith is interwoven throughout all of the story like a fine tapestry.
Lawyer Alexis Jergenson is burned out with dealing with rapists, abusers, and the poor victims. Each time she puts a man away it helps her deal with the two rapes she lived through. Now she is starting over. She accepts a job teaching Pre-Law in the Appalachian Christian College. She's not a Christian but is hired anyway. The first day she is late and running up the stairs when she runs into a hard male body. They fall down the steps and she finds it's one of the few men who doesn't seem to want her here. The man isn't happy; especially when she later runs into him at his ranch and she's caught feeding his horse. A sudden storm comes up and she can't make it back to town. She ends up stranded at his house. Fear almost consumes her but he leaves her alone.
Ex-Military Professor Luke Stevenson was injured in the war. He has come to the ranch to recuperate and is teaching Bible and business classes at the Christian College. He is divorced from a beautiful woman who couldn't deal with his injuries. He doesn't need a relationship with this beautiful lawyer that is bond to leave him hurt again. When one of his students comes to tell him she was raped and is now pregnant; he knows Alexis, with her background is the only one to help her. He takes her to Alexis and tells them he will help in any way he can. He and Alexis go to Jessica's home when she misses school and find her mother's boyfriend has attacked her again. The man runs off but the police are called and Jessica is taken to the hospital.
A struggle with a violent man who wants to destroy them for bringing his sins out in the open. Their lives are in grave danger. Luke must keep them all alive but is thrown for a loop when he finds that Alexis isn't a Christian and they can have no relationship. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. You might not have a killer trying to hunt you down but you do have and enemy that's trying to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus came to give you life and that more abundantly. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.
