My review today is on the Romantic Suspense, Uncommon Ground. This is book one in the Pleasant Hearts Series. I don't think I have read any of Joy's books before; I will read more of her work. I was asked to read this one and wasn't required to review it. I felt I must review it because I really enjoyed it and I want to share it with you. This book is well written, action packed and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
Today is Stella Heart-Parsons last day. She has been working in a medical research lab and as she returns to pack up more of her things she fine some kind of an issue with her young assistant and her seventeen year old daughter, Sharon. The two refuse to answer her question but before figuring out what is going on, there is something booming outside; the glass windows shatter, the floors quake, the road outside the window goes up like a wave and then comes down splitting the ground wide open. They run for their lives but somehow they are separated. Sharon gets on a bus but Stella can't get to it on time. She starts a journey to find her daughter and get them to safety. The world seems to be torn apart as Stella travels on her search. She is rescued by a man named Michael. He agrees to help her find her daughter.
Michael Huddleston is on a retreat. His boss, the pastor sent him out to a place in the mountains to get closer to God. The place is worse than rustic and he decides he is going to go back early. He can't stay a week in this place. Three men come and take over the camp. He rescues Stella and then must keep her safe from the three men. The leader agrees she can stay if she shares Michael's room. Michael cares for her injuries but on the second night the men are drunk and come after Stella. They must run for their lives.
A journey to get out of the war zone like terrain and find Sharon and get help for the people trapped at the disaster site. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.
