My review today is on the novel, Driven to Date. This is the seventh book in the Better Date Than Never Series. I don't usually like books in the first person but this was excellent and I really enjoyed this book very much. It's well written, humorous, and heartwarming. I know you are going to love it.
Jill Parnell is called into the conference room to meet with her bosses. Her last five years have been for this moment. Her boss had stepped down and she was going to be promoted. Life didn't get any better than this. She soon finds out that the partners had hired on of their nephews to fill the position.
Five years wasted. She contacts a friend's fiancee who happens to be a therapist. Kirsten meets her at the hair salon; she has her stylist cut and highlight her hair, tells her to go get a fun dress to wear at the wedding and then tells Jill she needs balance in her life and have fun. Jill goes to the wedding and meets a competitor who is interested in hiring her but wants to make sure she has a life outside of work so she pretends to be dating the hot sexy best man that had flirted with her earlier. He agrees to be her boyfriend for the night, including one hot kiss on the dance floor.
Ryan Shaw has just been hired by his uncle to take over the Managing Attorney for the Personal Injury Department. He has worked hard for this position and was thrilled to get the chance to take over. The week end before his first day he attends the wedding of his best friend and meets the woman he has searched for all his life. After an amazing night and a kiss that knocked his socks off he discovers Jill was the woman who was suppose to get his promotion.
A journey of two people drawn together in a world that was trying to tear them a part. How can they trust each other. Ryan's a player right? Jill's been hurt by every man she's known. How can they have a future? It's a great read.
Thank you for the lovely review, Glenda. Happy writing!! :)
