My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, To Save Her Child. This is the second book in the Alaskan Search and Rescue Series. I have to tell you I love this series. I enjoyed the fact that she brought back the couple from the first book through out this story. It's fun to revisit the people from the other books. Don't you just love Margaret's writing? This one, like all her books, is well written, fast paced, and full of action. Her story is filled with faith and will touch your heart.
Ella Jackson is a single mother hiding from her abusive ex-husband in the wilds of Alaska. She works for the Northern Frontier Search and Rescue office when she receives a call telling her that her eight year old son and two other boys are missing. She immediately fears her ex-husband has found her. Leaning on loner Josiah and his rescue dog Buddy, they set out to find her son and the other boys that are lost.
Ex-Marine Joshiah Witherspoon owns his own business with his twin sister Alex. Both of them are a part of the volunteer search and rescue team with there dogs. Joshiah is still dealing with issues from his capture and time as a prisoner of war. Unable to talk of the horrors, he has become somewhat of a recluse but in Ella he sees the same secrets and fears hiding in her eyes. He is bound to save her son and bring him home.
This is a story of redemption, of forgiveness, and restoration. No matter what horrors we go through in our past, God has a plan but He can't bring us to the place He has for us if we can't forgive and let go of the past. This is an excellent book, I highly recommend it.
