I Have The Victory

Today is going to be different because I want to tell you about what has happened to me and some of my family. God is doing great things in my life and in my family. God is so good!

My church has started a Bible school it's called Christian Life Bible Institute and I've been attending it for over a year now and we have learned so much. The last few weeks we finished The Principles of Releasing Faith 101, which was a great blessing and I learned so much. Now we are on Pneumatology; which is the study of the Holy Spirit. What a great teaching it has been!

My Pastor is convinced that few Christians know who the Father is. Jesus came to show us the Father; who He is, what He wants from us, and what He has done for us. People don't have a relationship and that is what wants from us. To love Him, walk with Him in the cool of the evening, and to ask Him what to do about every decision we have to make. He wants to be a part of our lives, a Father. People don't know who Jesus is either. Yes, He is our Savior but He is so much more. If people really knew Him they wouldn't live like they do. Have you watched The Passion? Jesus did all that for us; He took those stripes so we wouldn't have to be sick, He paid the price, why do people pray if it's Your will? Of course it's His will that why he took those stripes, why He died on a cross for us.

The Holy Spirit is also a being, a part of the Godhead. He isn't an it! He has a personality, He has  emotions, He has a will, and He is sensitive and He can be grieved. I have so enjoyed this class, next week will be the end of this class and I'll hate to see it end but this last week we had a mini course by a guest speaker and that's what I want to share right now. The mini course started Wednesday night and ended Saturday. It was awesome we learned so much. During this time my daughter has been blessed in a mighty way. She and her husband has been praying for a home, They live in a HUD house because there weren't any other homes to rent when we moved here. Because of Obama's new laws the house they now live in will soon double in rent. Which is a ridiculous amount for such a house. They were told about it last fall and they have been looking ever since but there just isn't anything available here. They looked at a house but it was going to take a lot of work. Things they would have to hire done.
Wednesday her employer called and told her about a house that just came on the market that day, Thursday they looked at it, Friday morning they made a bid, and Friday afternoon they signed the contract. If that's not a God thing I don't know what is. The best thing is that it is everything she had wanted and even more.

A week ago on Sunday I was told that someone was giving me a car. I have been praying for one for two years and now God has given me one at no cost to me. Praise God! On Saturday the series ended and then the speaker laid hands on us to receive what the Spirit wanted to impart to us. I must confess that I was kind of disappointed because when he laid hands on me he imparted boldness. I do need boldness but I was hoping for more. There were so many marvelous blessings, Word of Wisdom, and Prophecies given. My daughter was truly blessed as were most. After the service one of the men came to my daughter and gave her a Word from God; he told her her house was paid for and that she needed to declare it. She did so but one of the other women said she was going to claim that Word and she declared it too. I told them I wanted to have my own home and off of Social Security. The man rebuked me and asked what I plan to do to make that happen. I was crushed; I have been obedient to God, I written the books He has given me, I have published them as ebooks and have asked Him what else I could do. I have asked Him what I need to do to be blessed and what was causing me fail. I went home and repented for being upset, then spent most of the night praying, and seeking God.

Sunday I fasted, (I even gave up my coffee) we have a prayer core that meets each Sunday before the service and I was praying when that same man came and told me he had a word for me. He told me he knew he had been hard on me the day before and that God had given him a Word for me. God said 'that I needed to stop seeing myself as a victim. I had the victory! God said that I know I have faith, I know how to use it and how to receive it but I must see myself as victorious.' That really ministered to me as I tend to expect things to be harder for me than others and for things to go wrong. It is such a blessing to find out that hidden in my heart was the problem that has been holding me back. Praise God!

How about you? Do you know God in an intimate way? What about Jesus? Do you even know that the Holy Spirit exists or that He is inside of you to teach, to lead, and guide you in the way God wants you to go? If not I suggest, 7 Vital Steps to Receive the Holy Spirit by Kenneth E. Hagin.

Broken Silence by Annslee Urban

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Broken Silence. I really enjoyed this book; it is well written, fast paced, and full of faith. I was almost raped when I was fourteen and didn't tell anyone except my friend and her mother who helped my sew my dress back together, I know how devastating a secret like this can be. It was a long time before I went out again. God is so good, He will take that pain away and heal a broken heart.

Amber Talbot suffered a devastating event in college that destroyed her life. She has now become a counselor helping women who have been abused. As leaves she the Safe Harbor Counseling Center and heads for her car she unlocks her car with the key fob but turns away as a gentleman calls her back. She had dropped something out of her bag, as she heads towards him her car blows up. The man who comes to investigate the bombing is the man she had left eleven years ago.

Ex-Navy Seal Police Officer Patrick Wiley is shocked to see his one time fiancee` standing in all the rubble and debris. Her leaving without a reason still haunts him. As he becomes her protection detail it becomes obvious that who ever is after her has something to do with their past. He is shocked to learn of her secret and how she didn't trust him enough to tell him.

A great story of two people struggling against their past and trying to find trust in each other and in God. A journey of distrust, forgiveness, and restitution.

Dangerous Inheritance by Barbara Warren

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Dangerous Inheritance. This is the first book of Barbara's I think I have read but I enjoyed it very much. The story is well written, fast paced, and full of complex, broken people. Faith is a big part of the story too and I like that.

Macy Douglas just lost her grandmother to cancer; before she died her grandmother mentioned something about a box. Macy found the box and found out about her mother's death, supposedly by her father's hand. Her father had died in prison; she must prove his innocence. A lawyer notified her that her mother's mother had died and she had inherited her family home. Unable to remember anything in her first seven years she goes back to hopefully remember what had actually happened. Macy's return brought out anger and hatred from some of the town. There were a few who believed her father innocent but didn't want the town pulled apart.

Officer Nick Balwin bumps into her the night of her arrival. The light was on in the deserted house and he was afraid someone had finally broken into the house, as there had been several attempts. Macy's sees him looking into the window and runs out to confront him. Nick is drawn to Macy and against orders struggles to protect her, help her remember, and find the killer.

A great journey of two people trying to prove that the people they loved did no wrong and to stay alive in the process. This is a great read.

Stranded by Debby Giusti

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense book, Stranded. This book is another book in her Military Investigations Series. I have really enjoyed this series and this book is excellent. It's well written, action packed and full of adventure. I'm a military brat, I married into the Air Force, my brothers were Navy, my son was Air Force, and my grandson served as a Marine so I love reading books about the military. I enjoyed her characters they were complex broken people who became reconciled with God, I love that.

Coleen Brennan recently lost her sister to a drug overdose, now she is determined to bring the man behind her sister's death to justice. She has arranged to meet with a woman who has evidence that will help her to bring the man down. They meet in a deserted park out in the middle of no where but as Vivian comes to her car a gun shot is heard and Vivian falls into her car wounded. Coleen takes off but soon realizes that a severe storm has moved in. Driving up to an Amish town Vivian directed her to a barn, they just pulled in as a tornado roars through collapsing the barn upon them.

Special Agent Frank Gallagher is staying with his sister trying to recover from an injury and the infection that ravaged his body. His sister lives on the edge of an Amish community and when a tornado destroys most of the community Frank puts his uniform on and goes out to help with the clean-up. Frank finds the lovely Coleen but when he discovers her passenger has been shot he goes into his full investigative mode. As a member of the US Army's Criminal Investigation Division  he doesn't believe this woman's story.

Although attracted to each other both are full of doubts and unable to trust the other. A journey of faith, redemption, and forgiveness. This is a great read.

Protection Detail by Shirlee McCoy

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Protection Detail. This is the first book in the Capitol K-9 Unit Continuation Series. I love those series and really look forward to each of the books to come. They are written by six of my favorite authors. Shirlee's books are always well written and of course this one is no exception. I really enjoy reading about the working dogs of the K-9 units; the dogs and their handlers are awesome. This book was well written, full of action, and touched my heart. My son-in-law's family has been in the foster care program for years and I understand the calling and how much it is needed.

Cassie Danvers is the director of a foster home, once a foster child herself, she loves her children as her own. She now has eight children but one wandered out in the middle of the night and witnessed a murder. Cassie awoke by a strange noise in the house. Going downstairs she finds the bolt on the back door is unlocked meaning someone has gone outside. The knob turned although it was locked, maybe one of them was locked out. She opened the door to find a killer. Able to escape she runs off into the woods to lead the man away from her kids.

Capitol K-9 Unit Captain Gavin McCord is investigating the murder on a prominent senator's son when he discovered a child's mitten. After searching the area he finds Cassie in a tree. He takes her back to her home, tells her of the possibility of one of her children witnessing the murder, and she tells him of the man that had tried to kill her. Gavin also a foster child at one time, is determined to protect the kids and their beautiful mother.

And so begins a journey of a struggle to keep these broken kids alive and safe. A great read and one you will not want to miss.

An Amish Man of Ice Mountain by Kelly Long

My book review today is on the book, An Amish Man of Ice Mountain. This book is the next book in the Ice Mountain Series it was sent to me by Kensington Publishing Corp. as an advance reader. I love being a little part of their team and give them my honest opinion of the books they send me.

I love Amish books, especially those that are not cookie cutter stories. Kelly's books are just that. Her books are different than most books but they are funny, adventurous, and heart warming. Most Amish books portray their men as staid, unfeeling, and harsh but the man in this book is broken yet gentle and loving. I wish I could find a man so caring. Of course faith in the Lord is a big part of Kelly's work.

Priscilla Allen is a broken woman, she is running from an abusive ex-husband who is trying to kill her and take their daughter away. She and her daughter, Holly are living in a car while she works as a waitress for mere pennies in a small town by the oil rigs. Her first day she takes towels up to a room and sees a huge almost naked man standing in the door. He grabs the towels and slams the door in her face. She was left shaken but soon this man apologizes and starts inserting himself into her life. He takes them food to the car, takes them fishing, and takes them out on adventures. He then takes them home to Ice Mountain where they will be safe and he can protect them.

Joesph King was abused as a young teen, the woman had seduced him and forced him into an ungodly alliance, leaving him feeling unclean and unholy, now seven years later he lives with that horror and has decided he was unworthy of marriage and a family so he followed his younger brother to the oil rigs to try to keep him out of trouble. That first day when he meets Priscilla brought back the life he had once been forced into but he vowed to help the young family especially when he sees the hopelessness that hides in her eyes. He makes sure they have food to eat and brings them to his room when a bad storm hits and he can hear Hollie screaming in fear. Finally he takes them back to his home so that he can be there for them and his family can care for them. But the bishop writes a letter to her father to tell them where she is and that she's safe unknowing that he would tell her ex-husband.

A great journey of two broken and abused people trying to find God's plan for there life. A must read! This book is not yet out but can be pre-ordered and is well worth the wait. It will bless you.

Secret Refuge by Dana Mentink

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Secret Refuge. This is the second book in the Wings of Refuge Series. I have really enjoyed this series and look forward to the next book. Dana's books are always well written, action packed, and full of adventure but there is always faith woven into the fabric of her story. In this book she tells of God's glory and beauty and how He has a plan for each of us no matter how broken we are. I love that. This book is an advance copy so the book won't be available for a short time but it will be worth the wait so you should pre-order it right away.

Keeley Stevens is a struggling photographer of wild life; the last two years she has been dealing with the after effects of her sister LeeAnn's murder and caring for LeeAnn's down syndrome daughter. Her sister was murdered by her boyfriend Tucker and was found in the trunk of his car. Life has been hard for this little family as the killer is still loose and Keeley's trying to keep the child a secret from her father. As she goes out to take photos she is attacked.

Former parole officer Mick Hudson lives with the horror that he had released a killer two years ago and caused the death of beautiful LeeAnn Hudson. When he is notified that the killer was seen close to Keeley he goes to protect her. When he finds her he finds the man who had fooled him two years ago. Unable to hear the threat Tucker makes he vows to protect Keeley.

A journey of two broken people to find forgiveness, trust, and love in the midst of chaos. God has a plan to bring them comfort and peace;  He has prepared for them and He has a plan for you. All you have to do is receive it.

Health Food Devotions by Kenneth E. Hagin

My book review today is on the devotional book, Health Food Devotions. This book was given to me by my Pastor last October at a banquet for the Helps Ministry. I have gotten so much revelation from this book and I just have to share it with my followers.

Last winter I fought a battle with Shingles. It went deep with in me and I developed digestive problems. There came a time when I wasn't sure if I would survive it. and really didn't want too. It was by far the worse battle I have encountered and it has been a long struggle to get back what the devil stole from me.

In my mind I knew that God healed. Jesus bore my pain and sickness so that I don't have to but it so easy to question when something like that happens. This book has fortified my mind and my heart on God's provision for healing. It's His will for all of His children to be prosperous, and be in good health. III John 2. We seem unable to believe that God wants us well. He made a way for people to be healed in the old covenant and how much more is our new covenant.

Here is a quote from today, "Our faith isn't founded on what man says, but on what God says. In Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:17, and I Peter 2:24, God says it's His will for all to be well. So don't question that healing is the will of God. I have found again and again in my dealings with people that the majority of people are hung up on this issue of whether or not it's God will to heal them Even though they're seeking healing and want to be healed, they're not really sure if it's God's will. Something lurks in the back of their minds that was probably a religious teaching. Even though they may have seen others receive their healing, they still aren't sure that healing is for them."

How many of us fall into this category? God is not trying to teach you something! If He wants to teach us He uses the Word and His Spirit. He showed you His will when He sent Jesus. Jesus did all that He is going to do but it is up to us to take it. It's just like the gift of salvation; you have to receive it, take it, and believe it is for me. Healing is the same way. You just take it, even though some times it take a while for it to manifest, it's still true. Jesus went through all of the pain and suffering so we don't have too. I hope this post helps you as much as it has helped me. I have been set free and you can be too. God bless you all.

Hidden Agenda by Christy Barritt

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Hidden Agenda. I love Christy's work and this one is no exception. It is well written, action packed, and full of adventure. Although the characters are flawed and hurting individuals they love the Lord and trust Him through all of their adversities. That is what we must do too. God has a plan for each of us and when we trust Him, He will make a way for us each to fulfill our purpose.

Bailey Williams is a home health care nurse. She has just finished caring for a dear man who had heart problems. Now he has passed and she is straightening out his affairs since his son didn't bother to show up for the funeral. A severe storm hit the island of Smuggler's Cove, Bailey is frightened when the lights go out but when a man is standing there with a gun in her face fear becomes her constant companion. Now she finds out it's only Mr. Carter's son, but she is threatened by another man who is apparently hidden in the house.

CIA Agent Ed Carter just found out his father has died. He was deep under cover and was unable to get here sooner. He knows his father was murdered and he is determined to find the killer. He sees a young woman standing up on the widows walk like a ghost, could she be his father's killer? His key doesn't fit the door so when he breaks down the back door. The lights are out, due to the storm no doubt so he goes in search of the woman. He finds her hiding and pulls his gun on her.

These two take a journey to find answers to the death of Mr. Carter and the information he left. Both are keeping secrets, how can you trust one another when secrets are standing between you. It's a great adventure and I know you will love the story.

Plain Peril by Alison Stone

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Plain Peril. I love Amish books and I loves suspense so it's easy to understand why I loved this book. I enjoy Alison's books; they are well written, full of action, and I love her characters. Her people although flawed will touch your heart. I think most people believe that if they're Amish they have to be good but Amish are like anyone else, some are good honest people and some aren't. I love the way the love of God is woven throughout the book.

Hannah Wittmer had ran away from an abusive father years ago, now after the death of her sister, she has returned to raise her sister's children and care for her widowed mother. She is not really accepted by the community but is struggling to conform to their way of life. Her sister's brother-in-law wants the land and the children but she is determined to raise her nieces. Her struggles soon attracts the attention the sheriff and her sister's killer.

Sheriff Spencer Maxwell is on the tracks of a murderer. He tells the beautiful Hannah her sister was murdered instead of having an accident. As he investigates little things begin to happen to Hannah until it escalates and she and the children are forced to move from the farm.

A journey of a couple who don't seem to belong anywhere, a community that refuses to accept either of them, and a plan of God to bring restoration to a family. A must read.

To Save Her Child by Margaret Daley

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, To Save Her Child. This is the second book in the Alaskan Search and Rescue Series. I have to tell you I love this series. I enjoyed the fact that she brought back the couple from the first book through out this story. It's fun to revisit the people from the other books. Don't you just love Margaret's writing? This one, like all her books, is well written, fast paced, and full of action. Her story is filled with faith and will touch your heart.

Ella Jackson is a single mother hiding from her abusive ex-husband in the wilds of Alaska. She works for the Northern Frontier Search and Rescue office when she receives a call telling her that her eight year old son and two other boys are missing. She immediately fears her ex-husband has found her. Leaning on loner Josiah and his rescue dog Buddy, they set out to find her son and the other boys that are lost.

Ex-Marine Joshiah Witherspoon owns his own business with his twin sister Alex. Both of them are a part of the volunteer search and rescue team with there dogs. Joshiah is still dealing with issues from his capture and time as a prisoner of war. Unable to talk of the horrors, he has become somewhat of a recluse but in Ella he sees the same secrets and fears hiding in her eyes. He is bound to save her son and bring him home.

This is a story of redemption, of forgiveness, and restoration. No matter what horrors we go through in our past, God has a plan but He can't bring us to the place He has for us if we can't forgive and let go of the past. This is an excellent book, I highly recommend it.

Taken by Lisa Harris

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Taken by Lisa Harris. This was a good book and I highly recommend it. This book is well written, action packed, and full of adventure. I love her characters, the fact that they are strong Christians, and how faith is woven throughout the story. I have never been to Paris but I found it fascinating as she described it.

Kate Elliot is a grad-student and life is almost boring until she gets a phone call from her sister. She finds Rachel has been shot, left for dead, and her daughter is kidnapped. Kate doesn't know where to start looking for her niece. She goes back to her sister's place to try to find answers. There she meets an FBI agent but she is unable to trust him and set out to Paris to find her niece.

FBI Agent Marcus O'Brian is on a case tracking diamonds. He's been following Chad Laurent in a yearlong investigation of a smuggling ring. When Rachel is shot he knows this has to have something to do with his case. He finds the beautiful sister at the crime scene going through her sister's thing. Marcus tells her to go to her sister and leave the case to him and those trained to handle this. Imagine his surprise when he sees her being shoved into a moving vehicle on a Paris street. Obviously the woman can't follow directions.

These two go through a horrendous journey to find the diamonds, save the child and yet stay alive. A great adventure you will love. God always has a plan and when you get out of the way, it will come to pass.
