Her controlling mother has made life unbearable for her but beyond that, she had an accident that caused a fire to burn down the home and business of her friend, so in desperation she answers a mail-order bride ad. Out For Justice by Carol J. Post

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense Book, Out For Justice by Carol J. Post. Carol does a great job on this book, it's well written and her characters are people you will grow to love. I love the road to redemption, justice, and a trust in God. This book is a great read!

Lexie Simmons had lost a best friend and had used that tragedy to change her life. She changed her goals and became a detective on the sheriff's force. In her pain she had left her fiance` and gone back to school. Through her hurt she had to blame someone and so God was the logical one. Now six years later a serial killer had taken the life of her dear cousin, forcing her to partner up with her ex-fiance`

Officer Alan White was surprised to find himself partnered up with Lexie, after the death of her cousin and his good friend Kayla. Lexie was the love of his life but circumstances beyond his control had destroyed their relationship. Alan made a series of wrong decisions that nearly destroyed him but he turned to God and was set free. Now God had sent Lexie back into his life. Did he have a chance to regain his relationship with Lexie and make up for the past or was God just trying to teach him a lesson?

Lexie was a perfect fit for the profile of the victims of this killer. Lexie wasn't afraid to be used as bait but Alan and her boss had other plans. Two warnings showed that she was in trouble but could Alan convince her to be careful?

A great journey to receive justice for Kayla and Lexie's family. The intrigue is very well done and I know you will want to get a copy. God Bless you all. Have a happy hump day.

Being George Washington by Glenn Beck

My book review today is on the book, Being George Washington by Glenn Beck. I loved this book. It isn't anything you are going to read in history books. It is a true look into the life of a man that I have always highly respected. I knew our country was dedicated to God when the Puritans came to America but I didn't realize what a difficult war the revolution actually was. I have heard stories of George Washington and some of the difficulties the army went through. To think about what this man went through that we might have the freedom we have today and then to see the people throw it all away is heartbreaking.

These are stories you thought you knew about a man you thought you understood but these stories show you a man, General, and President that was indispensable. A man who will ever remain the man against who other men will be judged. I have to tell you it makes our politicians look really pathetic.

The book begins with the battle in July 9, 1755 on the banks of the Monogahela River and continues through the battles of the war, both the winning battles and the ones that were lost. George Washington himself said that if he had not been a witness to the Battle at Monogahela River he would not have believed it. Two horses were shot out from under him, three bullet holes were in his uniform, one went through his hat, all the enemy shooting at George and yet he remained touched. You will see hunger, sickness, nakedness, pain, and sorrow, and yet the troops remained true and faithful to their leader.

You will see how George led his army into every battle, not caring about himself or his welfare. A man who only wanted to live at home with his beloved wife and farm but a man called to serve his nation. These true stories will continue right up until his death. I know you will be amazed as I was.

This is a great read and one each American should read. God bless you over the holiday weekend. Stay safe and remember those who have past on before us.

The Gentleman's Bride Search by Deborah Hale

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical, The Gentleman's Bride Search by Deborah Hale. This book is the last book of the Glass Slipper Bride Series. I only read a couple of them but I have enjoyed them and I know you will too. Deborah took a horrible childhood that might have destroyed most girls and turned it around. These women became servants of the Most High God. I love that, aren't we all called to be just that, a servant of God.

Evangeline Fairfax had endured the horrors of a charity school for orphaned girls of the clergy. One of six girls that had bonded together to be their own family. The other girls had been governesses too but were now all happily married. Evangeline know that she wasn't called to marriage she was called to start a new school for these homeless girls where they could be loved and grow strong and healthy. But her boss refused to find a new governess for his children. Taking the matter into her own hands she has arranged a house party full of eligible young ladies. She instructs her employer to choose one of them because she was leaving.

Jasper Chase was a widower. He ran a business in Manchester and spent all of his spare time and money trying to improve the lives of his workers. He spent little time at their country home. He had argued with his wife and his governess about the time he spent away from his family. Now his governess is bound to leave him and is forcing him to choose a bride. He has no idea how to court a woman, he hadn't even courted his wife. He forced to seek counsel from Evangeline, after all she was the one who forced him into this situation. But as he tries to court these women he realizes the woman he wants is Evangeline.

This is a cute story. It will make you cry, it will make you laugh, and it will touch your heart. Run out and get a copy. You'll love it. God bless you all and have a great week.

Collateral Damage by Hannah Alexander

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Collateral Damage. I love Hannah Alexander's books. It's been a while since I've read one, this one is great, I know you will love it.
I really enjoyed the characters, they seem so real and their struggles are so understandable. You can get this book through Love Inspired Suspense or you can buy it at Amazon, Walmart, and others book stores in June.

Sara Russell must find her little sister. Sara's parents were killed in an explosion. Her younger sister goes to Sara's home town to find answers. Sara is afraid she'll receive more information than Sara wants her to find. Seventeen years ago there was a party, someone spiked the punch, and Sara became pregnant. Her parents moved them across the state and adopted the baby, now Emma was on her way to meet her father. Would Nick see the resemblance?

Nick Tyler had loved Sara but lived with the fear he had slept with her twin sister at the horrible party. He worried that the baby Sara's parents had, might be his and Shelby's. When he saw her those fears rose up within him.

Nick was hiding out at his father's trying to get over a failed marriage and malpractice law suit. He was certain that someone had killed the Russells and his mother. He was determined to find the killer. When Emma showed up on his door step to help solve the case, he was thrilled. He had never recover from his relationship with Sara. Now both girls were in trouble, someone was trying to kill them and they couldn't figure out why. Did it really go back to that horrible night seventeen years ago?

This is a great book and I know you will enjoy every minute of it. Now I want to pray a blessing over you all. Have an awesome week.

The Election

Today I get to go down to the Courthouse and work for the Election Board for Custer County. I hand out the booths to those in charge of our districts. It will be a long hard day, then tomorrow I get to go and put them back when they bring them in after the election. Sometimes that's harder because they all come in about the same time and I have to keep track of them as they come in. Plus I can't start until the election is closed so I start late.

As a Christian, it is my duty to be involved. We as Christians have stood back and kept away of all the corruption in politics and now look what has happened to our beloved country. To hear one of our own leaders declare this is an Islam nation, is horrific. To hear some states are actually adopting Shyria Law instead of our own constitution. People we must wake up and take our nation back.

This country was built by God's law and principles. It is the only nation that was built to God's glory. They came here to serve God. We are the Nation that have sent men and women out to evangelize the world. We spend billion to help other nations No other nation does that. I know that God isn't going to allow us to fall by the way side. We must do all we can to bring this nation back to God.

NOW GET OUT THERE AND VOTE! You don't have the right to complain about our nation if we don't get out there and vote. If you don't know who to vote for ask God. He knows them intimately.
God bless you all.

Undercover Marriage by Terri Reed

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense Book, Undercover Marriage. This book is the last book in the Witness Protection Series. It's been a really great series and I have loved each segment. I can't imagine trying to keep all of those characters straight and still weaving the thread of intrigue through it all. It's always great to finally finish a series but you just hate to see it end. You get so involved with all the characters. Terri did a great job tying up all the lose ends and pulling it all together but I have to say I loved each one of these books and I wouldn't be able to tell you which is my favorite.

The series is about a human trafficking ring, but instead of young boys or girls they steal babies and basically sell them. Through all the books U.S. Marshal Serena Summers and her partner Josh McCall are working together to find these monsters. Unfortunately this couple have some real issues.

Serena's brother was once Josh's partner. Her brother was killed and Serena blames Josh for not being there to protect his back. Now being forced to be his partner is a problem for her. How can she trust this man to have her back when he failed to be there for her brother. As they look for these baby brokers she is trying to find her brother's killer while trying to fight this attraction she has always felt for Josh. Now suddenly she is forced into an undercover marriage.

Josh had taken a personal day and while he was recovering from a broken engagement. Daniel, his partner was killed, now Daniel's sister is his partner. She is determined to find out why he wasn't with Daniel the day he was killed. How could tell her of his break up when she was the reason his fiancee left? How could he ever forgive himself for not being there? Her anger and bitterness was a small price to pay for the guilt that threatened to overwhelm him. How could they pretend to be a loving couple when she froze every time he touched her? He couldn't lose her too, she meant to much to him.

All through this series these people of faith put their lives on the line trying to find the missing children and the animals that took them from their homes. You can readily see the hand of God working in their lives. I know you will love this book and the entire series. You can find it at Amazon or through other Christian book distributors. It is a must read. God bless you all and have a great week end.

An Unconventional Lady by Cynthia Hickey

My review today is on the Heartsong Presents Book, An Unconventional Lady by Cynthia Hickey. I think this might be the first book I read by Cynthia but I did enjoy it. I always enjoyed the books about the Harvey Girls. They had such a great concept of how to serve the passengers from the trains. We could use that kind of an institution today. She did a good job with that corporation.

Annie Rollins is a woman out of place. She longs to do great things, instead she is stuck in a small town on the edge of the Grand Canyon. She dreams of ways to make her mothers B&B thrive since the El Tovar Hotel has moved in next door but her mother won't take any risks. Annie dreams of leading tours down the Grand Canyon, that would help their business. She tries to get her mother to let her do it but her mother hires someone else. Because business is down her mother gets her a job as a Harvey Girl. Annie is very frustrated.

Dallas Baker is the youngest son of a rancher in Texas. There is no respect for him at home. He answers an ad in the newspaper and travels to Willians, Arizona to the Grand Canyon to make his way. Dallas is drawn to his bosses young daughter, even though he doesn't understand the way she dresses or her modern hair do. She isn't Dallas' idea of a lady but she is delightful. She has no desire to marry and settle down. He can't understand this attitude how can he change her mind.

It's a cute story that you will enjoy reading. These two struggle to understand that people don't fit into a box, that those differences can be what makes the heart soar.

God bless you all and have a great week. We are busy getting ready for my granddaughter's graduation. Such a great day. It's always hard to believe they could be that grown up.

Forced Alliance by Lenora Worth

My book review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense Book, Forced Alliance by Lenora Worth. I love Lenora's writing. She always does an excellent intrigue. This one is no different, it's an awesome book. I enjoyed the characters, they all had their own problems but were believable and you got caught up in their struggles. I appreciate the faith that is interwoven though out their journey.

FBI Agent Josie Gilbert is a by-the-book kind of girl. She is trying to recover from a past that seems to keep trying to surface, plus she had a bad experience in her last assignment. She has now been assigned to be handler of a thief/conman turned FBI asset. She needs this case but how can she trust this man when her own father had proved to be a conman and had destroyed her family. Besides that the man was entirely to good looking.

Connor Randall had turned his life over to God. Now he was trying to help the authorities bring down a crime syndicate. He wants to make things right with his baby sister. His new handler is beautiful and tempting but it is obvious that she doesn't trust him at all. Connor knows about her father's betrayal but how can he prove to her he has changed. He finds he wants this woman in his life.

This couple is thrown into hiding as the crime boss they are working with is shot, an explosion takes place at his home, and their lives are threatened. It soon becomes obvious that someone they are trusting is trying to take them down. Who could be the mole?

This is a must read book. You need to run out and get a copy. Now God bless you all and have a great week.

Huckleberry Hill by Jennifer Beckstrand

My review today is on the book, Huckleberry Hill by Jennifer Beckstrand. This is the first book in The Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill Series. I love this series! I read the second book first but now I will read it again. They are so delightful, you just have to run out and get a copy. I love Amish stories and Jennifer's are wonderful.

Anna and Felty Helmuth are in their eighties. They (Anna really)determine they're ready for a new adventure. Their ten children are all grown and doing well but someone must step up and find a wife for their grandson. He has been hurt and it's obvious he isn't going to go find one on his own. So they take things in their own hands.

Moses Zimmerman was once engaged but Barbara started distancing herself from the community and then from Moses. Moses loved her and promised to wait for her when she left the community and the church to try to find herself out in the world. It was suppose to be a couple of months, now after three years he still wrote to her faithfully and kept away from other women. His Mammi tells him of her plan and tells him his new wife is down in the basement. She sends him down to meet her.

Lia Shetler has been asked to come and work the summer for Anna and Felty. Thrilled to get away from her home and family she accepts the job. Lia's sister Rachel is the love of her fathers life. After almost dying twelve years earlier, (Lia's fault as far as their father was concerned) Rachel's parents have spent their lives giving her what ever she wanted. They called her the pretty one and Lia was the tall one. (not a good thing) Her parents have assured Lia that she will never marry because of her size. Lia was convinced that was true and had accepted it as fact.

When Lia went to the basement, she dropped a glass jar and cut herself trying to clean it up. Moses told her he would get the broom. When he came back carrying a first aid kit she was mortified. Moses stood a good five or six inches taller than her. He loved that she was tall but quickly assured her he didn't want a wife. She assured him that she wouldn't marry anyone so arrogant.

Then Lia makes the mistake of telling her family about Moses and her father decides Moses would be perfect for pretty little Rachel. (she had gone through all the boys in their community and found them wanting) Rachel goes to Huckleberry Hill determined to marry Moses. Moses wants no part of the spoiled selfish girl but to get Lia back he must be nice to her. So goes this wondrous and humorous journey of love and faith while trying to find God's plan for their lives.

This book, this series really is a must read, whether you are into the Amish or not. It is awesome. God bless you all and have a great weekend.
