Memorial Day

Today is the day we honor those who have served in the Arm Forces. My family has been a military centered family. My father enlisted in the Army Air Corp and went to the war. He later was put into the Air Force as it was formed. He went as high as he could go in the Air Force and wrote some of the manuals they use today. He served in World War II, Vietnam, and Korea. He retired with honors in 1968.

My mother's first cousins(more like her brothers since her only brother had died at 15) served in World War II.
Their children have served in all of the wars since. Some are serving today.

My brother's; Glenn went into the Navy and served his twenty years. He retired as a Lt. Commander. His son also joined the service. I am very proud of them, my other brother Jim went into the National Guards and then after college he was in the Army for awhile, then he joined the Navy as a medic in Desert Storm. He is retired too.

My husband was in the Air Force Police Force when I met him. He served in Vietnam. He came home suffering from PTSD. My son joined the Air Force Special Forces. I don't know for sure how many tours he actually made in the Mideast. I do know he had several tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran. He was recently medically discharged because of a cancerous tumor in his eye. He had received many honors and medals. I am extremely proud of him.

My grandson joined the Marines and has served two tours in Afghanistan. We have been extremely blessed. None of our men lost there lives. I feel for those who have. I do know the agony of staying home and praying for those loved ones. We have lost many friends to the war. Freedom isn't free. I pray God blesses the families left alone on this day and in the days to come.

The attack!

This week has been one attack after another. I'm sorry I even missed blogging on Wednesday but I was struggling to just survive.

Sunday had been such a blessing to me. We had a word from God saying; "I'm well pleased with you, ask me what you will and I will do it. Just reach out and take what you need." He said many other things but that was what really touched my heart. I needed two thousand dollars for my mission trip, over six hundred for airplane tickets, a hundred for insurance, and spending money for the necessities for the trip so I asked God for three thousand dollars. I reached out and I took the money out of His hand just like He instructed. God is so good.

Monday I received notice that The Vessel was sending five hundred dollars for the mission trip. Praise God only twenty-five hundred to go!

Tuesday was the one year anniversary of my youngest daughter's death. I loved my daughter so much. She had so many health issues and mental issues I would never want her to come back but for some reason it just knocked me off my feet. I spent most of the day in tears. I know she is happy and is loved but it was so hard for me that day.

Wednesday I woke up and could hardly move. My back hurt so bad I could hardly move. I did go to my prayer group but as the day progressed my back got worse no matter how I prayed. I wasn't able to go to church that night and it broke my heart. I took a hot bath and curled up in bed. My bff called me after church and asked me how I was. I told her I was fine in a weak little voice (feeling very sorry for myself.)  She yelled, "FINE! What happened to blessed?" (That is always my answer when anyone asks my how I am. If you follow my blog you might remember I was ministering to her a week ago.) Well  that made me sit up and take notice of what I was doing. WOW! I spent the next hour rebuking the devil and his cohorts.

Thursday, things were going much better, I was up on my feet and was able to do the work around the house  but I received notice from Big World Venture saying all on my money had to be in the office by June first. Wow, I only have one week to get all the money I need. I am fourteen hundred and thirty dollars short. That really knocked me off my feet again. When I went to bed I told God I had done all I could do it is up to Him now. God gave me peace and I slept better that I had all week.

This morning I spent some time outside with the Lord. He reminded me that I had taken every extra penny I had to send in for the mission's trip plus I tithe, give another ten percent to other ministries, and I give whenever He tells me too. He was going to take care of the rest. I had done all I could now watch and see what He would do. Praise God. It is His will for me to go and He would make sure I went.

Don't you just love it when God talks to you and He doesn't get angry with you if you slip into a little pity party, He still loves you. He may rebuke us but He does it in such a loving way.

Full Reward

2 John 1:8 "Look unto yourselves(take care) that you may not lose(throw away or destroy) all that we and you have labored for, but that you may {persevere until you} win and receive back a perfect reward{in full}." (taken from the Amplified version.

My Pastor has preached on this verse for three weeks and I have learned so much. First is Honor; run your race with honor, in Mark 6: 1-8 it tells the story of Jesus teaching in His home church. Many were offended, Jesus said; a prophet is not without honor. Honor is a heart attitude. *Many times the things we desire don't come in the package we expect. The same story in Luke 5:17 says the power of the Lord was present to heal them (all) Jesus marveled at their unbelief. John 13:20 says "He that receives the man I send he will receive me." * The way kids treat their parents is the way we treat our Heavenly Father. How we treat our boss, our coworkers, or our pastor is how we honor God. Matthew says "Honor the man of God and you get  the man of God's reward. 1 Timothy 5:18 Honor is not worship. Honor is holding someone with respect.
TV cannot change the world but a local church can.  Don't have your pastor for lunch after church but lift him up and honor him in front of your children, friends, and family.

Do you honor God? How about your Pastor, do you honor him? If you can't give honor to the man of God go to God in prayer, maybe it is time to find a church where you can honor the pastor. God bless you all, I hope this has touched you as much as it touched me.

The Garden

Sorry I missed yesterday. We spent the whole day putting in a vegetable garden. We didn't have one last year but did the year before. I was unable to help put it in then but this year I spent the whole day out there. Praise God! We planted several rows of sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, green beans, peas, beets, squash(2 kinds), carrots, and red onions. I can't wait until they are ready. I have eating the vegetables you get at the store, you never know what they are sprayed with.

Today there is not a place on my body that doesn't hurt. I could hardly get out of my bed. I also got sunburned, I'm a red head and tend to burn easily. So I can hardly bear to wear any clothes. It will be worth it though when we are eating all those good veggies. The Bible says that Blessed is the fruit of my ground so I know our garden will be great.

God is so good.

Praise the Lord!

Today I ask the Lord what He wanted me to write and I got nothing so instead of writing about my writing (which seems to be going no where right now) I decided I would just give praise to God.

God is so good to me and I am so thankful for what He has done in my life. Just a few years ago I felt like my life was just about over. I had health issues, I had to live with my daughter because of financial difficulties, and I hated where we lived. Although I liked my church, it was basically dead. I felt like I was dying inside. That was when God told me to start writing. A few months later we moved home.

I now go to a church that is alive and growing daily. I love the people in my church, they are my family. I still am not published but I have learned so much about writing that I know it will be soon. In six weeks I am going to Panama to minister to the people there and tell them how God loves them and wants to heal them. I can't hardly wait to go.

God has healed me and made me whole! He has set me free! He has become a part of each and every day, a part of my life that I didn't know was even possible. I can't even begin to thank Him enough for what He has done in my life. I just have to Praise Him! Glory to God!

A Christian's Duty

Today will be short. I am off to work. Today I pass out voting booths to all the districts in our county. Tomorrow is Nebraska's turn to vote. Tomorrow we get the chance to choose the men and women we want to run our government. An awesome right! Not many years ago women didn't have that right. Many men and women have fought and died to give us all that right. How awesome is that!

I know that we are all on different spiritual levels but we need to agree on this one thing. Christians MUST get out there and vote. It is our duty to vote, our right, and our privilege.

I have heard so much grumbling about our Nation, about the Senate, the Congress, our Economy, our Schools and our President but we don't have the right to complain if we don't go out there and vote. I know it is hard to know who to vote for but it really isn't that hard. Just vote for the man or woman that the media tells you not to vote for. The man or woman that the liberals, gays, and unions tells us are unfit to be in office. those are the men and women that are standing for the right to life, moral values, and our God. Parties don't really come into the equation. What a man believes is what counts. Who he stands for! Is he prolife? Does he back Israel? Does he love God and country? Does he lie? Does he tell you one thing and turn around and do something all together different the next moment?

Have you voted? Will you rise up and stand for righteous living? Will you help change our nation back to One Nation Under God?

Quiet Time

I know a lot of you have issues about finding a quiet time to write, so do I. I live with my daughter and her family. There are six adults in our household. It is a small house and there is not room for me to have my own space. I have my own room of course but it is tiny and doesn't have room for me to work. The kitchen is a small room and always being used.(it is also the laundry room) so I end up sitting in a recliner in the living room. My son-in-law is disabled and I help care for him. He is unable to sleep most nights and spends a lot of his time in his recliner watching TV. I try to block out what he watches but it can really be difficult.

My two grandson went to Arizona to their best friends graduation. This morning I got up early. The only one stirring is my seventeen year old granddaughter. She is getting ready for school. I have already prayed and spent time with God. I have a load of close in the washer and a load of dishes running and now I am going to sit here in this glorious quiet and write. I tell you that right this minute is wondrous. Life doesn't get any better.

God bless you all. Happy writing.
