My review today is on the Christian Historical Romance, Waltz With Destiny. This is the fourth book in the Destiny Series. I have really enjoyed this saga. We have now reached World War II. This story is well written, greatly researched, and full of action. Faith is interwoven throughout the story as a fine tapestry. I know you are going to appreciate Catherine's hard work.
Esther Meir, her mother, and her brother works for their cousin and lives with him. Some would say he overworks them and is unfair but the Meir's are happy to have a place and a job during the depression. Esther and her brother William are almost out of school and now have a chance at a good job. They'll be able to get their own place. Esther goes to a Christmas Dance. She doesn't dance because she has two left feet; her mother tells her the right man will be able to lead her. At the dance she meets Eric, a playboy and a flirt but he dances her across the floor. Esther watches as he flirts with others and give them kisses. She never wants to see him again. Yet the man keeps coming in and out of her life.
Eric Erhard is studying to become an engineer. When he sees Esther, Eric is blown away. He's not ready to settle down and he knows she is the ever after kind of girl. He follows her to a vacation her brother has won. He rescues her when she is abducted. Even when he is drafted he can't commit to her but he can't forget her either.
A journey of life through the depression and through World War II. The action scenes of the war will break your heart especially because they are so real. Will he make it out alive or with all his body part? Can he expect Esther to be true to him while he is gone? Her letters and the scriptures are all that keeps him going. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.
Thank you Glenda for this lovely review and telling your readers about Waltz with Destiny and the Destiny saga!
