My review today is on the short story, In the Here and Now. This book is one of the series A Mail Order Bride Romance. I enjoyed the story very much. I had never read any of Angelica's work before but I look forward to reading more. I do love mail order bride books. There's just something about them that touches my heart. This story is well written, humorous, and heart warming.
Mary Melton lived in Charleston. She lived with her parents who tried to force into a high society mold. Mary wanted none of it. She hated the endless parties and useless life. She wanted freedom so she began a correspondence with a rancher in Texas. Unknown to her she was actually writing to his sister. Mary got on the train and headed west. She was sure that she had found the answer to her prayers until she met her husband to be.
Dale Stamper and his sister Sarah lived in a huge house out on a ranch. They had been orphaned years ago and had never really recovered from that. They forced themselves to attend church and town socials in hopes of healing. Dale met and fell in love with a wonderful woman but just before the wedding she was killed. Now he and his sister lived a life of loneliness and isolation, unable to find a way out of their grief. Sarah in desperation wrote to Mary as her brother and brought her out to the ranch. She told her brother just a week before the arrival and he agreed.
A journey of healing hearts and finding love in the aftermath of extreme grief. This is a great story and I know you will enjoy it. Get a copy right away.
