Jehovah Jireh

I want to talk today about Jehovah Jireh. I have decided to write about the goodness of God eveery time the devil attacks me, so today I am writing about my God the Provider.

Abraham is the first to use God's Name, Jehovah Jireh, my provider. He was just about to sacrifice his son when the angel of the Lord stopped him. God had provided a ram instead of his son. God provides all of our needs. He is good and His mercy endures forever.

Today has been a strange day for me. My routine is to get up and spend my time with God. I have many prayers that I read for my nation, Israel, my family, my church family, ect. Then I plead the blood over my entire household and protection for us and our possessions. I love spending time with the Lord. Today started off all wrong. My son-in-law was up and about and watching TV. It is hard to pray, read the Bible, and spend time with God with the TV going on the Discovery channel. (I don't really have any other place that I can go. Our home is small and a lot of people live here.)

My granddaughter had a dentist appointment so my daughter took her. My son-in-law went outside so I went back to my prayer time. My daughter called and she had a flat tire. Could I come get here and take them to the dentist. So I took the other car (We have four but only two are working right now) and went to get them. It was hooked up to the battery charger(we are having problems with either the battery or the alternator) I stopped at the doctors to make an appointment and when I went back out the car wouldn't start. I had to walk home. Praise God.

To make a long story short, a friend helped me. We now have every one home and all the cars and everything is taken care of. When I finally got to my devotional it said: 'Blessed (happy, fortunate and to be envied) is the man who reverently and worshipfully fears [the Lord] at all times [regardless of circumstances], but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity. Proverbs 28:14.

God is good and His mercy endures forever. He is my provider and I will praise Him no matter what.
I am blessed and highly favored.

  2. He certainly is good and merciful to us! It takes conscious effort to praise the Lord in the midst of adversity...and it's the best way to chase away the evil one. May God bless the rest of your day.

  3. Glenda:
I enjoyed the scripture from Proverbs. The message is so true. Sounds like God provided you with what you needed, some time with Him. God is good.
