My review today is on the Historical Western Romance, Hope in the Mountain River. This is book two in the Call of the Rockies Series. I always enjoy Misty's books and look forward to receiving the next one out. This book is an excellent example of her work; it was almost impossible to put down. I'm not sure how she does it each time. Make sure you have a warm blanket there to curl up with when you read it. This story is well written, action packed, and you won't believe everything that happened to Joel.
Elan had just lost her husband and her little daughter to an angry bear. It had been several months but she couldn't deal with all the reminders of her baby girl. She and her friend take off from the village to find some peace. A bad storm is coming up so they seek shelter in a cave. They are sheltered there when a group of three white men, one white woman, and an Indian brave came into their cave. These men are looking for one of the men's brother and want them to guide them to the village. They finally agree to take them.
Joel Vargas is seeking his brother. He feels like his brother is in trouble and has an urgent desire to find him. His brother is seeking for a special breed of horses that the Indians have raised. Joel and his friends, Caleb, French, Beaver Tail and his wife Susanna have been seeking Adam for some months and have had many adventures. (book one) He is thrilled when the women agree to escort them to the village to find him.
A terrible journey through the mountains in the middle of winter. Seven desperate people to fight the elements to find Adam praying that he is still alive. God has a plan for this group of friends. A plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too; a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in the midst of your storm.
