My review today is on the Christian Romance, Season of Joy. This is book two in the Rios Azules Christmas Series. I really like Alexa's books and she send me new ones all the time. I really appreciate them because I do so enjoy the way she writes. This book is well written, humorous, and heartwarming. Faith is woven throughout the story. I know you are going to love this book.
Travel Journalist Joy Avila has returned home to visit her grandmother. Her grandmother had sprained her ankle and needed help. Her grandmother owns the town newspaper and received a letter to God asking for a mother for and a wife for a little boy's father. Her grandmother sends her over to the boy's home to share the letter and all the letters sent in reply to his father. The thing is that man had been the love of her life. She had been a chubby child that had been tormented by her mother and her classmates but Dylan had helped her and befriended her. He never knew he had stolen her heart. He had married another woman right out of high school. How was she going to get involved with his little family without getting hurt? She was to set up dates for him and find him a wife.
Dylan met Joy at the door. She had been his best friend throughout high school. She has been all over the world traveling for magazines and books. He's surprised to see her at his door. She had been avoiding him these last few years. She tells him what his son had done and brings in several boxes of letters offering to be his wife and mother his two sons. His ex-wife had been a drug addict and in and out of his life. She had finally divorced him. Dylan has adopted a teenager and they are making a new family. He doesn't see a need for a wife but he goes along with the dates. He soon realizes the only one he wants to date is Joy and she refuses to do that. How can he keep her in his life when she has a job that takes her all over the world?
A journey of dear old friends, a couple that God has brought together. He has a plan for this family. A plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give him your heart and watch Him get you out of the mess you are in.
As always, thank you so much for a great review! So blessed to have you as a reader!
