My review today is on the science fiction romance, The Rejected Princess. I received this book through NetGalley. I have never read any of Katie's work before. I really enjoyed this book. It was different. The story is well written and full of twists and turns. Faith is interwoven throughout the story. I know you are really going to enjoy it.
Princess Roanna Hamilton of Chester Wake has come of age and as a princess she is expected to marry nobility. An ambassador has come to the castle and has asked for her hand in marriage. She has refused but it soon becomes clear that her parents will expect her to marry Roland Dawson. This will bring a peace treaty to Chester Wake and Dawson Edge. He is not repulsive so she accepts but her heart belongs to her best friend Ben. Ben arrives and takes her to the dungeon where they find records of a doctor that was thrown into the dungeon on the date of her birth. The doctor was thrown into the dungeon for upsetting the Queen after the birth of her child. He kept screaming, "don't cut her hair." They are determined to solve the mystery.
Prince Benjamin Bellevue of Lox is trying to find a way to keep Roanna from being forced to marry the ambassador. He had read in a diary that there was some mystery about Roanna's birth so he leads her down to the dungeon but they are caught and both sets of parents are upset. They should not be alone together now that Roanna is betrothed. Ben is now going to go Dawson Edge to find a wife. He had been betrothed to the Dawson princess but there had been no princess born. He must find a bride among the nobles of Dawson Edge. The King of Dawson Edge is throwing an engagement party for Roanna and his younger brother Roland and two days later a ball to introduce Prince Ben to all the eligible women in the land. There would then be peace in all three kingdoms.
Upon arrival at Dawson Edge things begin to happen that cause Roanna and Ben to draw together to find answers to the mystery that is surrounding them. This is an unusual story and very intriguing. God has a plan for these three kingdoms; it's a good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too, a plan for a hope and a future. Give Him your heart, trust Him, and watch Him move on your behalf.
