My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Buried Cold Case Secrets. This is Sami's first book for LIS but it is awesome. I know we will see a lot more of her. I look forward to her next book. This story is well-written, actiom-packed and full of suspense. I know you are going to love it.
Forensic Anthropologist Melanie Hutton came home to accept a job. She wants to find the answers to a cold case from fifteen years ago when her best friend and her were abducted and held active. Melanie can't remember what all happened but her best friend disappeared and she lived. The whole town either pitied her or blamed her for leaving Allie. She is on a run when she receives a text telling her that hikers have found some suspicious bones. "Could she meet detective at the site?" She's only ten minutes away so she says sure. She heads out only to be attacked on the path. She is rescued by the one man she knew never wanted to see her again.
Detective Jason Cooper was on the trail when Melanie literally ran into him. She is the woman who left his sister to save herself. He doesn't want to help her but she is obviously in trouble. He helps her to his vehicle and gives her first aide. He calls for back up and is ready to go to the site of the bones but she refuses to go to the hospital. It's her job to see to the bones and find the answers.
A horrific journey to evade the cold case killer who wants the case to stay closed. God has a plan for these two. A good plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A plan for peace and not for destruction, even in this time of chaos.
