My review today is on the thriller, Winter Mourn. This is the first book in the Winter Black Series. This book is awesome! It is well written and full of twists and turns. It's not a Christian book, which is what I usually read. I must warn my faithful followers that there is foul language, it's not excessive but it is there. The story line is a bit dark but it is intriguing and I know you will not be able to put it down.
Winter Black has become an FBI agent. Her family had been murdered when she was only thirteen. Her parents were dead and her baby brother taken; she had been struck in the head and left for dead. Upon waking up from the coma she finds that she has some supernatural powers from the head injury. These powers now help her as she searches for her family's killer, "The Preacher". (Read the Prequel)
The body of a small boy has been found near her home town. The body has been buried for years. Winter and her partner are called to the site. Before going to the site someone leaves a picture of her baby brother in his Sponge Bob pajamas the night he was kidnapped. Winter knows when she arrives that this body isn't her baby brother but she can see a red rim glowing all around the perimeter. She suggests a cadaver dog be called.
FBI Agent Noah Dalton isn't sure what is going on but he does know that Winter has some kind of sense that he doesn't have. He has seen her at work and what ever she does it works so he agrees that they must call for the dog. They soon find that this is a graveyard of some serial killer. They found several small children's bodies. What kind of monster is this?
A strange journey of twists and turns. It seems every time they turn around they are finding more dead bodies. Can they figure out what is going on and catch the killer? Since "The Preacher" has made several anonymous visits to her room; is he the one that killed these little children?
