My review today is on the Western Romance, This Daring Journey. This is book six of the Heart of the Mountains Series. I have so enjoyed this series. I like revisiting the characters from the first five books. I love the characters. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I warn you it's not a book to read on a cold night, you will freeze just like the characters do. You are going to love this book.
Samuel Grant is sent on a mission by his brother's future wife. They are about to be married and she wants her brother to come to the wedding. When Samuel arrives at the cabin where Henry lives he finds a woman there and she is under attack. He drives off the attackers and makes himself known to Henry's wife only to learn that Henry had died several months ago. It's obvious to Samuel that this young woman is in trouble. He decides he will take her and her three week old baby to her people.
Moriah Clark is a half breed. Her mother was raped by a French man and then left to care for the child. Moriah's grandfather gave her to the white man Henry Clark to wed. He'd been good to her but after his death men kept trying to take her cabin and her. She has been alone along time and had delivered her child on her own. All she wants now is to travel back to her family. She needed help and safety. She doesn't want Samuel's help but she knows she needs him. She agrees to let him help her and they set off for the journey of a life time.
A horrendous journey through the mountain wilderness. Two lonely broken souls trying to find their place in life. They find they must trust God and each other to survive. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Trust Him and give Him your heart; you will never be sorry.
