A Simple Vow by Charlotte Hubbard

My review today is on the Amish Romance, A Simple Vow. This is a part of the Simple Gifts Series. I loved this book and enjoyed revisiting Willow Ridge. The book is well written, faith based, and the characters are moving. There are several twists and turns in the story and I know you will love it. Charlotte has a wonderful way with her Amish stories.

Edith Riehl and her two sisters have just moved to Willow Ridge. Her dominating father, a clock maker, traded his home in Rosewood with his cousin who lived in Willow Ridge so his cousin could help his mother. Edith was preparing for a wedding next to them when she heard an argument out front. Two men were arguing by a buggy and she could hear the shrill cry of a baby. She goes over to help the child. She finds the man who was once courting her sister in Rosewood accusing the tall stranger of fathering his twin babies; which the man denies. Edith stops the quarreling and agrees to care for the babies while they sort things out. Edith is unable to have children so she becomes deeply involved with these children.

Asa Detweiler received a message saying a dying wife said he was the father of a set of twins. He had never heard of the mother let alone father these children. He takes off to find out what is going on. He is instantly drawn to the young woman who stops the argument. He helps her up into the buggy and promises her he will find the children's real father if she would promise to care for the babies. As he is leaving town he is run off the road and is seriously injured. He becomes much closer to Edith and the children as he is forced to stay in town.

A journey of two loving hearts thrown together by two sweet little babies. God has a plan for these two even though the journey is full of twists and turns. God has a plan for you too. He can get you out of the mess you find yourself in if you will only surrender yourself and give Him control.
