A Bride to Heal His broken Heart by Melynda Carlye

My review today is on the Western Historical Romance, A Bride to Heal His Broken Heart. This is the first book of Melynda's that I've read. I did enjoy it and I'm sure you will too. The story is well written and full of twists and turns.
Nurse Lorna MacPherson just lost her father. She was caring for soldiers during the civil war when they brought in her father. He soon died in her care. One of the doctors made advances to her and she lost her job. Now she is on her way to a new life. She's been corresponding with a rancher and is meeting him to be his mail order bride. When she arrives in town no one is there to meet her but a group of outlaws. A woman pulls her to safety. She is the aunt of her intended. She and her nephew tell her that her intended was killed the day before. The family wants her to stay and since she has no where to go she agrees.
Darren Wilson has had more than a few set backs in his life. His mother died (she was an Indian) and his father took a job at the Wilson ranch. He died several years ago and the Wilson's adopted him. Then his new mother died. Mark was his best friend and his brother. He was killed by outlaws and it was all Darren's fault. He is instantly attracted to Lorna but knows there can be no future for them.
A journey to stay one step ahead of a greedy killer. Save the girl and save the ranch.
