My review is on the western romance, The Doctor's Abused Bride. This is one of the Ladies of the Frontier Series. I was given this book to read but I was not required to review it. It was a good read. The book is well written and will touch your heart. I was once an abused wife so I know what that is like. Leah did a good job with a rough subject.
Caroline Norris is married to an abusive husband. She decides she and her twins can't handle any more so she saves up money and tries to sneak out in the middle of the night but Floyd wakes up and tries to stop her. The driver she hired helps the kids into his wagon and waits for her. Floyd beats her but she is able to escape. She goes to her sister's home to hide and start over. Floyd is a lazy, mean drunk surely he won't try to follow her.
Dr. Gilbert Shannon met Caroline when she had left her husband a year ago. It was love at first sight for him; and then there was that first kiss at her sister's wedding. He loves her and hopes to have a future with her and her children. He writes to his brother, a lawyer, to find out if he can help her get a divorce. He must watch over her and the kids in case Floyd comes after her.
A journey of three desperate people trying to hold on to a dream of a hope and a future.
