My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Plain Jeopardy. I always enjoy Alison's books; they are Amish, I love Amish stories but they also have suspense. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. You are really going to love this one.
Grace Miller is a reporter and travels all over the world. She has returned home to recover from surgery and complications. When an accident that includes some teens from town and an Amish girl happens; her boss wants her to investigate it and write a story. She receives a note asking her to meet at the gas station at eight o'clock. They have information about the accident. When she goes to the meet, a man tries to run her down. The police captain is the one who comes to her rescue. She refuses to stop investigating the accident when he asked her to stop; even though someone is trying to stop her
Police Captain Conner Gates is sent to the gas station on a 'hit and run'. It's obvious that it is a deliberate attack on the reporter. Conner is upset when he learns Grace is going to do a story on his cousin's death and the accident. He offers to help her investigate her mother's murder instead. It happened years ago when his father was the police captain. It was the one case his father could never solve.
A journey of a cold case that could destroy Grace, Conner, and his father. Conner doesn't want to hurt his cousin's mother, Grace doesn't want to investigate her mothers death, Conner's father wants to solve the cold case that has driven him crazy for years. Someone wants to see them dead. Have you ever had problems that you wanted to ignore and hope it went away? It's impossible for you to have faith when you are afraid. Fear will paralyze you. God has a plan for these two, a good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too. Trust God with whatever has broken your heart and He will make a way where there doesn't seem to be a way. God is so good!
