My book review today is on the Love Inspired Historical Book, Wyoming Promises, written by Kerri Mountain. I enjoyed this book, I haven't read any of Kerri's books before but I did like this one and I will read more of them. Her characters are flawed and broken but they seemed real and you enjoy their journey to wholeness.
Bridger Jamison and his brother, Frank are setting up camp in the mountains of Wyoming when Frank finds the body of the dead sheriff. Bridger takes the body into the nearest town to the undertaker. He is shocked to find the undertaker is a beautiful young woman. He brought the body in and helped her as much as he could but was out of his league when he handed her the star and she fell apart. Bridger left the woman to find food and a bed for the night. He found a help wanted sign and took a job with the owner of the saloon.
Lola Martin's father was the towns undertaker until he was killed a few months ago. Lola took over his business because that was all she knew. Her ex-fiance wants her to give up the practice. Lola is heart broken when the sheriff is killed. He was married to her best friend and they were expecting a baby, he'd watched over her to protect her now he was dead. She wasn't sure about his death or the man that brought him in so she sent for a US Marshall.
Bridger's face is scarred from his childhood but his brother's mind is that of a child thanks to their father. He tries to hide his brother from the boss and the people of the town. Bridger soon discovers there's much more going on in town than he had originally thought.
Lola is drawn to Bridger and then to his brother but can she trust them after what her ex-fiance put her through.
Great story I know you will enjoy. God bless you all and have a great weekend.
