My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Covert Amish Christmas. Mary writes wonderful Amish stories but she also writes awesome suspense stories so this book is amazing. This one is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
CIA Agent Victoria Kauffman is hiding in a little cabin in Amish country. The cabin is close to where she had been brought up. She had been Amish until her mother had died when she was five. Staying here brought back so many memories, she longed for that simple life but she could never go back after all she had done. As she considers her life her a heavy object is slammed into her door. She leaves through a back window. How had they found her? She runs through the snow and ice of the Montana country side. She is injured but manages to stay on her feet. She finds a workshop where she can hide.
Aaron Shetler is a furniture maker. He is a widower with a thirteen year old sohn; they lived with his mamm. He and his family hear gun shots. He goes to check outside when they finish their meal. As he checks he can see men walking around out in the fields. Uneasiness comes upon him. The door to the shop stands slightly open. Inside he finds a young woman with a gunshot wound in her leg. Before he can help her his sohn shows up asking if she's dead. They are greeted by a gun pointed at them by the woman. Aaron feels he must help her after he hears her story.
A terrifying journey to escape CIA operatives that are determined to kill this witness and have no problem with collateral damage. God has a plan for these people; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and He will make a way for you where there seems to be no way.
