My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Lone Star Standoff. This is the sixth book in the Lone Star Justice Series. It is an awesome book. I really enjoy Margaret's work. I'm always thrilled to get one of her books in the mail. This story is well written, action packed, and full of adventure.
Judge Aubrey Madison is a widow. Her husband, a Texas Ranger was murdered leaving her with a set of twins. She returns home after a long day at court. She's looking forward to the weekend off. She returns to her car later and finds a dead rat in her trunk. Is it connected to the case she is trying? Is it a warning? She calls Sean McNair, he told her to call if she had any problems. Can he keep her family safe during this trial?
Texas Ranger Sean McNair asked to be transferred here after the death of one of the Texas Rangers so that he could investigate the Coastal Cartel. He is sure they had something to do with his brothers disappearance two years ago. He's sure his brother is dead but he must find out. He receives a call from Aubrey telling him about the dead rat, a possible warning from the cartel. As things escalate he must figure out how to protect this little family and not lose his heart.
A struggle to survive when an evil cartel is out to stop the judge from the trial. They must learn to trust each other and trust God who can lead them through all the horror. God has a plan for this family, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for your life too. He has a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life.
