My Miracle

I have spent the whole year trying to prepare for the Panama Mission Trip. Last year I went to the Ecuador trip and was so blessed I knew I had to go to Panama. The trip would cost about $3,000, which is a forune when you live on a fixed income. I was still paying half of my income to pay for a car I have been unable to drive for at least two years(I know it has been longer than that but I'm not sure when it died) I only recieve $600 a month so when it was finally paid off I started sending Big World Ventures $100 a month and tried to put $50 in savings for plane ticket, neccessities, and spending money. As the time drew closer I took a job at a craft store but the people who owned the store were spread to thin and so I received very few hours and was unable to help my cause much.

I sent out fund raising letters to my frienda and family. One of my cousins sent me a check for fifty dollars and one of my friends I haven't seen for twenty years sent my twenty. No one in my immediate family or my church family helped me(I did get ten dollars from a widow that I help now and then) I was devastated. One of the leaders from the team I was on last year posted a website that helped people to go on mission trips. I sent in an application.

In May the deadline was coming up and I was still far from my goal. I had been praying for God to help me, I knew I was suppose to go. One Sunday, the Spirit of God was really moving and the pastor told us to ask God for what we needed, believe that God had it for us, and to reach out and take it. I asked God for $3.000. I still needed more than half of my money but I also needed at least $1,000 for airplane tickets. I saw the money as I reached out to take it. I could almost feel it in my hand.

The next day I got an email saying that The Vessel was going to send a check for a $500. That week I received notice that we had to have our money in y the first of June. I paniced! I prayed and fasted! God said trust me. Sometime that is the hardest thing to hear from God. June 1st came and went. I contacted Big World and they told me they had all ready bought my international flight and reserved my room. They told me to keep trying.

God spoke over me on Sunday saying he would open doors no man could shut. Trust Him. I ended up packing with no idea how I was going to get to go but God did open that door and I walked through it. Praise God I have my miracle and the trip changed my life.

I will have more about my trip in the coming days. God bless you all.

I'm Back!

Well! I still don't have my computer up and running! FRUSTRATION! I received the computer screen in the mail but when my son-in-law went to put it back together he broke the green board, so now I am waiting on that.

My daughter's computer wouldn't let me into my blog so I could do new posts, I am now at the library. I haven't had time to come here until now.

As my followers know, I have just returned from Panama. I was on a mission trip with Susie Shellinberger and Big World Ventures. I had the most awesome time and I will be telling you about it in the next few posts.

I'm thrilled to be home but I really hated to leave Panama. I have always wanted to go on the mission field (for short mission trips, I'm too old to want to stay in abject poverty for long periods of time) and I am thrilled to get the chance to tell the world about how good God is. Last year we went to Ecuador. The picture on my blog is from the mountains of Quito. Next year we will be going to Peru. I can hardly wait to get there.

Schanae, my seventeen year old granddaughter didn't get to go with me this year. Her father had eye surgery and there just wasn't the funds for her to go. She has signed up with http://www.hopewear.com/ so that people will be able to help fund her way. For $22 you can purchase an awesome shirt (they run a bit small) and $10 go to Schanae's fund raising, part of the money goes for the shirt, and part will go to help the families that you will see and get to know at that site. Poverty runs rampent in Peru and they need all the help they can get. I would love it if some of my friends and fellow writers would help in this cause.

That is enough for today. I just want to thatnk you all for being patient with me through my trial with my computer. God bless you all see you Monday.
