Fearless by Tamara Leigh

My review today is on the Medieval Romance, Fearless. This is book two in the Age of Conquest Series. I really liked this book. I so enjoy Tamara's work. I didn't really care for Lady Hawisa in the first book but I did in this one as she became a more vulnerable character. As an author I can't imagine how hard it is to write these two stories in parallel and keep all the details straight. This book is well written, action packed, and full of adventure. I can't wait for the next story.
Saxon Lady Hawisa lost her Norman husband to the war. Now after another battle she is searching for her young son. As she searches all the dead bodies she is attacked and almost ravished. She is rescued by a young silver haired Norman. He takes her into the woods to keep her safe. For his trouble he is set upon by a band of Saxons and taken captive. Isa finds her dead son and goes into mourning. When she comes unto herself she finds that her rescuer is held and being tortured. She helps him but doesn't turn him loose. She is afraid of the man's brothers. She finds herself drawn to the man but there is no hope for a future between them. She is the leader of the Saxons a warrior. She is a Wulfrith and doesn't need a man. She must hold onto her lands.
Sir Guarin D'Argent fought in the battle and is now searching for his uncle and his brothers. He sees a woman being attacked and takes off to rescue her. She is uncooperative so he knocks her unconscious to save her. He takes he to the woods to hide her from the looters. He is captured, beaten and tortured. They hold him for almost two years. During this time he is drawn to Hawisa the rebel leader. He must keep her safe from her own man who is trying to destroy her and take over her rebels.
A journey of deception, lies, and secrets. The Normans have won the war but the Saxon refuse to be conquered. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Trust Him, He loves you and God is good.
