Polotics

We have all heard the quotation about not talking about religion or politics. I have spent a great deal of time talking about religion and now I'm going to give my two cents about politics. The Bible says that you can tell a christian by their love if that is the case we are in trouble because I don't see a Christan in the bunch.

I am ashamed of the way our candidates have acted. We don't need the opposing party to do anything, we are destroying our own people. What is that all about? I don't want to know about someone's past marriage, how someone cared for illegal immigrants, or any of the other things they are saying. I want to know how the candidates fell about abortion, do they believe it is okay to murder millions of babies every year? Will they give Planned Parenthood 357,000,000 dollars we don't have next year? I don't care if they give scholarships to illegal aliens how do they feel about prayers in the schools. How do they feel about allowing Moslem's to pray in the schools but won't let my child wear a shirt with Jesus picture on it? What do they feel about The pipeline that should go through, a pipeline that will give jobs to people that need them, a pipeline that has been rerouted to please the environmentalist and will be a blessing to every one. How do they feel about Israel? Do they believe we have the right to tell Israel they can't build in their capital city? Do they know that God blesses the people who bless Israel? Do they believe in spending like there is no tomorrow? I live on a budget. When I am out of money, I stop buying things, is that so hard to understand?Okay, I will stop now, sorry if I offending anyone, I'm just saying....

Where do you stand? I want a man of God in the white house. I want to live in One Nation Under God. I want to live in a Christian Nation. I want my representative to represent me and my beliefs. How about you?

Wisdom

'Happy is the man who finds skillful and Godly Wisdom,  and the man who gets understanding.' Proverbs 3:13
One of my favorite ways to hear from God is in Wisdom and common sense. When i first was Spirit filled a man from my prayer group told me God was giving me the gift of wisdom. I really didn't understand what that meant way back then but I have sought wisdom ever since.

Mike Murdock has a ministry that is based on wisdom and I have followed him for years. Wisdom discerns truth in situations while common sense provides good judgement regarding what to do with that truth. Wisdom is a supernatural gift, it can't be taught by men. It is only given by the Spirit of God.

Many highly intelligent people lack wisdom and common sense. The Bible says 'if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without  reproach, and it will be given him.' James 1:5. In Proverbs 4:5 it says, 'Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principle thing; therefor get wisdom.

I am not saying I always walk in wisdom but I do strive to. In this time of economic decline and fear, wisdom will keep you in all of God ways. We are not of this world but we are of the kingdom of heaven. God's wisdom will show us how to move through this earthly world without all the pit falls. How about you guys?
Do you seek wisdom? Do you hold wisdom in high regard? I would love to hear form you.

Be still

Over the last few years my main answer from God has bee this verse. Psalms 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over all the earth!" We have talked about hearing from God, but it can be very frustrating when this is all you hear, My main hope is believing I am doing what I am supposed to be doing.

Sometimes our prayers are us talking and God listening. We get so caught up in our needs, our wants, and our desires that we pour out our petitions day after day. Polls show that very few people take anytime to even pray. Maybe a quick prayer in our beds as we drift off to sleep. Then there are those bottom of the pit prayers when we need God to get us out of some horrible mess that we got ourselves into. How about those prayers for someone who is sick or dying?

We expect God to step in and fix everything and make it better but when was the last time you just sat down and had a cup of coffee with him. I am a coffee drinker and one of my greatest pleasures is to sit and have a cup of coffee with a close friend. I admit I am talking to myself as well as you. I don't sit and have conversation with God like I should but I do try. I love to hear his voice.

I know that if we took the time to listen we might not end up in the pit. If we listen we might miss the horrible car accident the devil has planned for me today. If I listen and start exercising and eating properly I might find that I am sixty six years old and not having any physical health issues. That I am strong and mighty in the Lord. How about you? Do you have a few minutes today to sit down and have a cup of coffee and visit with the Lord? Remember a conversation is a two way street. God Bless you guys!

Faith Builders.

1 John 5:4 says, "For whatever is born of God over comes the world. and this is the victory that has over come the world, our faith." For every child of God defeats this evil world and we achieve this victory through our faith. Who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

Our faith overcomes the world and fear has to leave - discouragement has to flee. Hebrew 1:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith is a real, tangible, confidence that gives our hope a right to exist. There is an unseen world out there, it is real and the parent of the seen world.

We are either a spirit being just living in a temporary world or a physical being living in natural world, you need to decide. I do not live under the natural laws of this world. I live by the laws of the Kingdom of Heaven. It is my home I am but an ambassador of that kingdom. I am only passing through.

The devil will hit you in your finances more than anywhere else. If he can keep you broke he can keep you from functioning. Romans 8:11 says, "the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you." How can you fail? Gods supply is infinitely greater than what we have need of. The first report is not the last report.
Faith is real. When you pray....you must believe in your heart....it must take root in your heart....you must believe it is Gods will for you to have what he has given you. Jesus bore those stripes for your healing, He died for your salvation. Salvation is so much more than just the new birth. Jesus bought us, all of us. We have a covenant with Him it includes all the blessings. Have you accepted what Jesus did for you? Are you walking in the blessings of God. Have you asked Jesus into your heart?

Let's Listen

'I will listen (with expectancy) to what God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people.' Psalms 85:8 We talked about God speaking Wednesday so today I want to stress listening.

When God speaks He gives us a deep sense of internal peace to confirm that the message  we are hearing is truly from Him. Even if He speaks to chastise us. His Spirit of Truth leaves a calming sense of comfort in our souls.

When satan speaks to us, he can't give us peace. When we try to solve things with our own reasoning, we can't get peace because "the mind of the flesh (which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit) is death. But the mind of the Holy Spirit is life and Peace now and forever.

When you pray spend at least half of that time listening to God for He is really smart and He is a really interesting guy. I'm not nearly a good at this as I want to be. I am trying to be better each day. How are you doing? Do you wait for the peace before you make major decisions? do you hear His voice? Do you follow His instructions? Obedience is better than sacrifice.

Hearing God Speak

Today I want to talk to you about hearing God's voice. So many people talk about how they never hear from God. He doesn't talk to them. I want to share that God is speaking we just don't listen. My devotion today was from Joyce Meyer and it really spoke to me. Let me share part of it with you.

The scripture I will be using is Isaiah 63:1, 'It is I (the One) Who speaks in righteousness. In this verse God declares He speaks, and when He does He speaks in righteousness. We can always depend on what He says to be right. God speaks in many ways; His Word, nature, people, circumstances, peace, wisdom, supernatural intervention, dreams, visions, and what some call the still small voice. (inner witness)

God does speak through your conscience, through your desires, and in an audible voice. Just remember He does speak and what He says always agree with his written Word. What about you? Does God speak to you? Are you listening or just saying give me, give me. How does God speak to you? I would love to head your comments.

Rewrite Rewrite!

Thank you all for your great comments. I did send in my proposal last week and i don't expect to hear anything for awhile but I di make some drastic changes in my first three chapters. Now come the hard part, trying to incorporate all those changes into my manuscript.

I plan to send this manuscript to the Genesis Contest too. Which means I really need to get on the ball if I'm going to make that happen. So pray for me. It means I really have to cute down my time on the internet. I enjoy everyone's blogs but that can be so time consuming.

I am having a great time rewriting though it makes me feel like a real author. I realize that there is a good possibility I could be rejected. They say Help was turned down over seventy times so I don't have any unrealistic expectations. I do however pray for favor with the publishing company. I do believe that it is God's purpose for me to write and that His will will be done. I am anointed to write books and one of these days I will post that I have sold a book I know that in my heart.

God Bless everyone who reads my blog. May this be the best year you have ever had. Do expect blessing in your life? Expectation is the breeding ground for miracles. I expect miracles in my life and yours. Do you?

Mountain Moving Faith

First I must apologize for not posting on Wednesday. My road trip with my daughter threw my whole week off. It was a lot of fun though. We live together but she is a manager at Runza and is not home much so we don't get to spend much time together.

I finished my book proposal and I sent it in yesterday. I need prayer, it was a big step for me, now sitting home patiently waiting for some word from the editor is mind-boggling. So my post today is something my Pastor preached on Sunday but something I really needed to hear.

God said Sunday in a word of knowledge; "Take the limits off of Me. This is not the time to back off. This is the time to Charge. You are well able to take the land, I have made away." I don't know if you believe in the gifts of the Spirit but they operate in my church and we need them. This really spoke to me. The publishing process is a giant to me. A giant I am not sure how to handle but God is able to take the little stones I have and kill my giant.

Mark 11: 23 & 24 say, Have faith in God. For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be  removed and be cast into the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."

Doubt comes when you aren't convinced God will do it for you. You know he will do it for other but maybe not for me. Conviction changes everything. It changes what we say, what we hear, what we think and what we receive. What are you doing in your trials and tests? Is God willing to do things for you? Is it just for others?

Hopeless

Do you like my new look? I'm trying to make it look more professional, what do you think? I'm having fun learning about to get things done. Now back to my topic today.

A few days ago my son-in-law got a call that his great niece had committed suicide. It was was devastating to his family, especially his mother. In the last six months they lost her brother Rannie to an overdose, (no one will ever know if it was on purpose or not) he was only in his early forties, and her father, he died of natural cases. So this was devastating.

I was reading on my facebook page yesterday and read a post from one of the kids I use to work with. He asked if he hung himself would anyone even notice or cafe. I broke my heart. My daughter died last May and I had gone through the threat of suicide for years with her bipolar disease. Suicide is not the answer to anyone's problems, in fact it is just the beginning of one real torture. What makes people believe that it will help them? I don't get it. Don't they see what it does to the family they leave behind?

The Bible talks about the last days and how men's hearts will fail them. We live in a time of fear and hopelessness like no other time in history but there is hope. Jesus Christ came to this world as a tiny helpless baby. He came not to live but to die for you and for me. There is nothing that you can do that is so great that He will not forgive you, NOTHING. He came because He loves us and wants to have a relationship with us. He made a way to be our brother, that we might be a part of His family. How awesome is that.

I know times seem to be hard right now and I know that they will get worse for a lot of people. God is in control and His mercies are new every morning. Get to know Him, He is an interesting guy.

Don't give up the fight, we are in a war and we are going to win. Put on the armor of God, the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, grid your loins with truth, shod your feet with the preparation of peace, pick up the shield of faith, and grab the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, and let's go out there and win this battle.

Book Proposal

Well, I finished my book proposal and sent it to my bff. She works for the newspaper so she edited it for me. She sent it back covered with pencil marks. A real test to our friendship. lol It has taken my several days to get the thing rewritten. It is much better now, I know that. When I write I know exactly what it is suppose to say so sometimes I miss errors. Do you have that problem?

I sent it back to Cyndy so I can make sure it is just write. Now I have to make the changes on my manuscript so it will be perfect when she requests it.(Is that positive thinking or what?) I also want it ready to send to the Genesis Contest for ACFW. There is going to be a lot of changes so I am going to have to hustle. I would love to just sit back and do a jigsaw puzzle. It seems I have been a struggle to do the proposal when I had no clue how to do it.

So if you guys will lift me up in prayer I would greatly appreciate it. I don't know if this is my time or not but I am ready if God is ready.  I am concentrating on my relationship with God instead of pushing my work. God has given me the story and when the time is right it will all work. I know that published or nor published I will serve God with all my might.

Let's start the year right

A couple of days ago I read a blog from a woman trying to understand a horrendous tragedy done to a small child by her babysitter. It's really hard to try to understand this world we live in today. We are at the end of the last days. As Christians we are aware of that fact. We need to be aware that the devil also knows that fact and is doing everything he can to do as much destruction to this world that he can before his time is up. He will use everyone that will listen to him. We allow his corruption into our homes daily. The movies, games, and yes even books are full of his devises to destroy us. We are made in God's image and he hates us for that.

I am not trying to judge anyone here but God has put it in my heart to share what He has been dealing with me about. This is a time when you must be led by the Holy Spirit. He knows what is going to happen in your life this day. His job is to lead you , to guide you, and to protect you, but He can't do that if you don't listen to Him. What would have happened to the Families of Israel if they had not put the blood over their door posts? If they hadn't believed Moses or just didn't have the time? Our lives depend on what we learn from the Spirit of God. We might think that nothing like that can happen to me but that just isn't true.

As Christians it is our duty to spend time in prayer. We must have a relationship with God! I have heard wonderful testimonies about how God told someone to stay home instead of going to work the day of 9/11. Soldiers that listened to God and were miraculously saved from injury. Families that were stopped from going on, who stopped for the night only to find out later they missed a huge accident.

We need to be in prayer before we ever get out of bed. We need to spend time with God. He is a really smart guy. We need to stop praying give me, give me, give me and ask God what He needs me to do today. We need to have a conversation with God. A conversation is a two way street. We need to listen! God knows what is going to happen to you and your family this day. LISTEN!

Pray with and for your kids and your spouse before they leave the house. That is your job. Bless them. You don't know when the next Combine Incident might happen or a postal worker might go beserk. Life is short but we don't want to lose any time with our loved ones that we could save. Don't live in fear, that only ties God's hands, live in obedience.

What is God dealing with you about this next year? This is going to be a year of intercession for me. I'm starting off this year in fasting and prayer. This will be my best year ever! I believe that with all my heart. I pray it will be your best one ever too.
