Hazardous Holiday by Liz Johnson

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Hazardous Holiday. This is the fifth book in the Men Of Valor Series. Don't you just love Liz's stories? I know I do. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I love stories about special ops military programs as my son was in the Special Forces with the Air Force so they fascinate me. Navy Seals are special.

Kristi Tanner is a widow with a small son who has a bad heart. There was no way she could care for him and pay for a new heart. When her deceased husband's cousin proposes to her she has very little choice. To marry again seems like betrayal to her but her son's health must come first. So they move to San Diego and her husband was deployed for a year.

Navy Seal Zach McCloud has been in love with Kristi since they were children but she married his cousin. He knew they had been happy but when Aaron died he felt he needed to marry Kristi and care for her and her son. They were married, even though he knew they were never going to be more than married on paper. He moved them to his home and he left on deployment. When he returns he finds that his family is under attack. Someone is trying to kill his wife. A sniper misses his mark and causes Zach to wonder exactly who the killer is trying to kill. Can he keep them safe?

A journey of a little family trying to survive the chaos of heart transplants while facing a killer. God has a plan for this little family, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Just give Him your heart and make Him your Lord and watch Him turn your life around.

Two Thieves by Paul Joesph Luiso

My review today is on a book sent to me, Two Thieves. The review is my own thoughts and feeling. This book is well written and well researched. It's not a book that I can say I loved becaues it a dramatic subject. I would liken it to Ben Hur. There is much violence in this book but that was what life was like in Jesus time. I'm sure the book will inspire you.

The book starts in Jerusalem in 2 AD. Emoonah and her son watched as her husband was beaten to death because he didn't pay the temple tax. They had a really bad year and had no money to eat let alone pay taxes. Caiaphas, a priest, ordered the widow and her son to be sold to pay his debt. The widow and her son manage to escape by the help of Nicodemus, a priest. He leads her out of a secret tunnel and tells her to find a caravan of Magi. She is abducted by slave traders and her son is sodomized. He blames her. The Magi had just returned from Bethlehem and when the slavers attack them they save Emoonah, her son and one of the others slave that had befriend her, Mara

The head Magi falls in with Emoonah. He tries to talk her into going with him to Persia. She found her family and her cousin is now dead but her husband and their child are a mess she is determined to help them. Jamal, the Magi, built her a business. Then after many months he leaves her.

The cousin is a mess; a liar, a thief, and a maker of strong drink. He turns her son into a thief, a murder, and a maker of strong drink. They live in Nazareth and watch Y'shua grow to be a man. They are finally are force to leave.

The story goes clear through to the crucifixion. A dramatic story but well worth reading.
check out the book. You will love the end.

19 Brides for 19 Cowboys

This is a boxed set of nineteen mail order bride stories. I love mail order bride stories. It's hard to imagine being that desperate that you would take weeks to travel half way across the country, to marry a man you have never met, promise to live with him forever in a place you can't even imagine. My mind just won't go to that place.

I'm not going to review each one of these stories as there are too many but I'll share with you that not one of these stories is alike. Each one would stand on it's own merit. I enjoyed this set and highly recommend it. I know you will enjoy it just like I did.

Each story is well written and full of adventure. I love reading about the wild west but I don't think I would want to go there. Remember God has a plan for each of you, a plan for a hope and a future. Just take Jesus as you Lord and Savior. Ask Him to lead you, guide you, and get you out of the mess you have gotten yourself into. Watch what He will do.

My review today is on the Mail Order Bride: The Business Arrangement. I enjoy Angelica's stories. This one is well written and heart warming. I know you will enjoy it too. I like the whole concept of the mail order brides. How desperate would a woman have to be to go thousand of miles into the great unknown to marry a man they have never met? It's hard to imagine.

Christmas at Promise Lodge by Charlotte Hubbard

My review today is on the Amish Romance, Christmas at Promise Lodge. This is the second book in the Promise Lodge Series. I was thrilled to find Charlotte had written the next book in the series as I loved the first one. Promise Lodge left me asking questions about what happens next. This book answered some of those question but I look forward to the next one to find out what happens to the rest of the community. This book is well written, humorous, and will touch your heart. Widow Mattie Schwartz and several others were basically verbally attack at the wedding service by the new bishop Floyd. He told the congregation that all the single and widowed men and women must marry before the first snow fall. He named them and told them he expected them to stand before him saying their wedding vows.  The three Bender sisters and other women couldn't continue to run businesses they must marry and take care of their families.  He also said there would be no interfaith marriages. Mattie wasn't about be forced to marry. She'd endured on abusive marriage and wouldn't have another.

Preacher Amos Troyer was disgusted. A wedding ceremony was not the place to bring up such demands. Now Mattie would never marry him. How could he convince her to share his life after this? What about the other singles in the community? Rosetta Bender and Truman Wickey, a Mennonite, were in love but now they would be unable to marry. Christine Hersberger, a widow, hardly knew Marlin Kurtz how could the bishop expect them to marry. The three sisters had founded the Promise Lodge and were not about to give it over to some man.

A struggle of these two hearts and their community when some man tries to be God in their new district. God has a plan for this new colony and He doesn't care what a bishop has to say. This is a great story and brings to mind the scripture that says 'Judge not lest you be judged.' God has a plan for you too. Give God your heart and let Him turn your mess around.

Starting Over by Rachel Hanna

My review today is on the story, Starting Over. This is A Whiskey Ridge Romance.I haven't read any of Rachel's books before but I enjoyed it. I must warn my Christian followers this is not a Christian romance. It does have some colorful language, not anything extreme though and there was more sexual tension than the books I normally read but no graphic sex scenes. The book is well written, humorous, and heart warming.

Kelly Cole had a tragic childhood. She was raised by parent's addicted to drugs, her father now in prison and her mom a hoarder. Because of that she lived her life in complete control. She owned a small home and rented a building for her spa. She loved the peace and quiet of her business until one day everything changed. A man moved in upstairs and turned her life upside down. She did everything she could to get rid of him. After her boyfriend ran off with her best friend the last thing she needed in her life was a good looking, sexy ninja warrior.

Quinn Maverick is a widower and he has rented the upstairs portion of a spa for his Karate school so that he can start over. His wife has only been dead for a year and he wasn't expecting to be attracted to the cute little owner of the spa. He did everything he could to dislike this woman. She was such an irritation.

A journey of two hurting people trying their best not to like each other but the attraction would not be denied. To bad they didn't know about how God could change their lives. God has a plan for each of us. A plan much greater than we can ever imagine. Trust God and He will show Himself mighty in your behalf. God bless you

Shot Through the Heart by Angelica Rose

My review today is on the book, Shot Through the Heart. I enjoyed this story as I do all of Angelica's books. It's well written and full of adventure. I love Navy Seals and there was a unit of them. I enjoyed that and I loved the end of the book.

Emily Parker runs a way from her ex-boyfriend when she found out he is a criminal. Grabbing evidence to ensure her safety she heads out on a cruise ship to New York hoping her boyfriend won't think she took the long way to freedom. She wakes up to men arguing outside her door in the middle of the night. A drunk man tells the others that he saw to her room earlier and it was five decks above them. The other men leave. Soon there is pounding on the door and the drunk turns out to be a Navy Seal. He pushes his way into her room. How can she trust him?

Navy Seal Ben Portman is assigned to the cruise ship to do recon detail on a possible drug ring. He finds the drug lord's girlfriend hiding on the cruise and intervenes when his men come looking for the her. She promises him evidence and he arranges for his team to come and extricate them from the ship. Can Ben keep her safe without loosing his heart as they are trapped in her room for hours?

A journey of two people caught up in the struggle of trying to survive the drug war. This is not the Christian book that I normally read so I can't help but think how much better it would have been for them had they been able to rely on God. God always makes a way for His people. The book is a good story and I'm sure you will too.

Fractured Memory by Jordyn Redwood

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Fractured Memory. I love  Jordyn's work and was thrilled to see that she had joined the LIS Authors. This story is well written, action packed and full of adventure. She wove her faith throughout the story like a tapestry, I like that.

Pediatric Nurse Julia Galloway was almost killed over a year ago by a serial killer. The "Hangman" had hung her but she had been rescued in time. She had spent the last eighteen months trying to get her life back but the memories of that night were locked up somewhere in her mind. Although one of the doctors Julia worked with had been arrested and awaited a death sentence her name and information had been found on a hit list. Could the killer be someone else? Could the "hangman" have a partner? Why was someone after her? Who was this marshal that was helping her? Why did he seem so familiar?

US Marshal Eli Cayne had been the police detective that was first on scene at Julia hanging. He had saved her life and had done everything he could to help her during her recovery but it was obvious when he came to her home that those memories were lost in her injured mind. He would do everything he could to protect this woman and find this killer. Unfortunately he didn't think he could protect his heart, she had already stolen that.

The Pregnant Amish Nanny by Samantha Price

My review today is on The Pregnant Amish Nanny. This is book 6 in the Expectant Amish Widows Series. This book is well written, humorous, and heart warming. I enjoyed the book very much. I'm sure you will too. I always like a good Amish story.

Courtney was left a widow just a few months ago. She is also expecting a child; a fact she has kept hidden from the people in her life. Her in-laws blamed her for her husbands death and had taken everything from her. She move to a larger community to find work and start over but had found nothing. She is thrilled when she had a chance to become a nanny in a different community. Her employer took one look at her and knew she was expecting and he was very upset. She told him she was capable of caring for his family and her child. Just give her a chance.

Aaron's wife died a year ago and had left him with three lively children. His sister-in-law has been helping him with them while he works but it has become to much since she has three children of her own. He wrote his aunt and asked her to find a older nanny. When she wrote and told him she had found one he was excited but when she arrived he was very angry to find out she was young, beautiful, and obviously pregnant. How could he expect her to stay?  All the men would be running to his door.

A journey of two people who have lost the love of their lives and are trying to figure out a way to go on. God has a plan for these two and it was much greater than either of them had ever hoped for. God is like that. He has a plan for you too. And it is an awesome plan. Turn your life over to Him and trust Him to turn your life around.
