Heaven Sent by Sherri Schoenborn Murray

My review today is on the Christmas Romance, Heaven Sent. This book takes place in 1965 and brought back a lot of old memories. I really enjoyed it. I remember my parents sitting around watching Lawrence Welk. The story is humorous, well written, and quite believable where the Seven Blocks of Granite are concerned. I know you are going to love it.
Isabelle Bucknell has been selected to attend a Christmas Choir in Silverton about twenty miles a way. She will live with the Cooper family for the next five weeks. Her boyfriend Albert doesn't want her to go, he gives her an awful proposal and promises if she goes he will put her engagement ring on some other girls finger before she comes home. It broke her heart but she goes anyway. She reads what he has written in her autograph book hoping for something sweet but its nothing memorable.
Pastor John Hugg has agreed to host the choir girls but soon realizes it is a way to find him a wife. The seven Granite Girls are praying, gossiping, and doing everything they can to set him up. He meets Isabelle at the grocery story while taking a widow of the church shopping. He is stunned by the woman and begins to flirt with her but the girl disappears. What did he say?
What was the man thinking? He was flirting with her in front of his wife. What kind of a town was this? Izz soon finds out that this is the pastor. What had she got her self into? John assures her he's not married. Attracted to him she assures everyone that she has a sort-of-boyfriend. She tells John she has loved Al since she was eight. She left out the part about being mad at him now. No one believes he's real until one of the Granite girls finds a secret post in her autograph book saying he loves her. Everyone in town knows about the note but Izz. John tells her about it now she's really confused.
Its a journey of one complication after another. You will wonder all through the story which man she will end up with and you will find yourself routing for both of them. You are going to enjoy the journey.

Now after a bunch of problems (see book one) he has come to the end of his road and is robbing stagecoaches with a group of wild cowboys he can't stand. He orders a mail order bride so that he will have someone to care for his ailing mother. He is shocked to find out she is the woman they have just robbed. He is instantly attracted to her but she refuses to marry an outlaw.

Moving Target by Lynette Eason

My review today is on the thriller, Moving Target. This is the third book in the Elite Guardian Series. I really enjoy Lynette's work and this series is awesome. This book is well written, action packed, and has very interesting characters. It's hard to get in the mind of a serial killer but she does an excellent job with this book.
Maddie McKay is one of the guardians of the Elite Guardians Unit. She is overcoming and attack where her throat was slit (book one) and has been taking care of her friend Quinn who was badly injured and his legs smashed.(book two) They are now out to eat to celebrate his release from physical therapy.
Quinn has been a real bear during his recuperation but Maddy has stayed by his side because she loves him but when he throws a fit about the birthday party their friends are throwing him she has had enough. She tells him off and then leaves the restaurant and goes home. He doesn't even try to stop her.
Detective Quinn Holcome is shocked when Maddie stomps out. After all they had been through he thought she would be by his side forever. Sure he'd been a pain but he had been going through a lot. He guessed he'd have to find her and apologize. He couldn't imagine going on with out her. She refuses to answer the door. When he looks in he sees her on the floor. Then he is also taken
The Chosen One has waited six years for God to take vengeance on the death of his loved one. Now he sees God has chosen him to do the vengeance for Him. Nine months and eight bodies after his revelation he enters Maddie McKay's home to abduct her. He drugs her and then waits for Quinn to show up. They then disappear and end up on an island in the middle of no where. It was where the Chosen One had set up an elaborate hunting game.
This is a cunning journey to survive the plannings of a mad man. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Most of us will never encounter a serial killer but we do have an enemy that is out to steal, kill and destroy. He is really good at it and most people don't even believe he exists. We have a tendency to blame God for all the terrible things that happen and we just accept it as God's will but God is good and His plan is for good and not for evil. Give your heart to Jesus, trust God to move in your life, and watch Him work in your life.
