Amish Widow's Proposal by Samantha Price

My review today is on the Amish Romance, Amish Widow's Proposal. This is book five of the Expectant Amish Widows Series. I really enjoyed this book though I must admit her life was very depressing. This book is well written, heart warming, and full of faith. I know you'll enjoy it too.

Evelyn King is a widow left with a three year old and a baby due soon. Her marriage his been a great disappointment. All her family was happily married but there had been no love in her marriage. Her husband had failed to love her or her child. He had seemed to marry because he had to. They had a child because they were suppose to but he was never home. He spent all his time in his father's home caring for first his mother, then his father, and after his death he stayed to fix up the house. He cared for them but not for her. Their house was in total dis-repair and there was never any money. Now he had died and left her penniless. Hopefully his father's house was in better shape so she could rent it out and make enough money to feed them.

Hezekiah Hostetler was a widower who lived close by. Although several years older the quiet man proposes but Evelyn doesn't love him. He could be the answer to her problems but could she enter another loveless marriage? Did she have a choice?

A handsome new man comes to stay with her brother-in-law and offers to fix up her husband's father's house. This man makes her heart beat faster but he tells her he is engaged and that he doesn't stay put he moves around. How can she be drawn to him? Will he reject her and leave?

This is a woman's journey back to the faith of her people. She must realize that God wasn't the one that destroyed her life but He was the only one that could put it back together. God has a plan for her and her little family and it is far greater than anything she had ever hoped for. God is like that. He can turn our lives around when we get out of His way and give Him control. He has a plan for all of us and it is good not evil. Trust in God!

A Simple Vow by Charlotte Hubbard

My review today is on the Amish Romance, A Simple Vow. This is a part of the Simple Gifts Series. I loved this book and enjoyed revisiting Willow Ridge. The book is well written, faith based, and the characters are moving. There are several twists and turns in the story and I know you will love it. Charlotte has a wonderful way with her Amish stories.

Edith Riehl and her two sisters have just moved to Willow Ridge. Her dominating father, a clock maker, traded his home in Rosewood with his cousin who lived in Willow Ridge so his cousin could help his mother. Edith was preparing for a wedding next to them when she heard an argument out front. Two men were arguing by a buggy and she could hear the shrill cry of a baby. She goes over to help the child. She finds the man who was once courting her sister in Rosewood accusing the tall stranger of fathering his twin babies; which the man denies. Edith stops the quarreling and agrees to care for the babies while they sort things out. Edith is unable to have children so she becomes deeply involved with these children.

Asa Detweiler received a message saying a dying wife said he was the father of a set of twins. He had never heard of the mother let alone father these children. He takes off to find out what is going on. He is instantly drawn to the young woman who stops the argument. He helps her up into the buggy and promises her he will find the children's real father if she would promise to care for the babies. As he is leaving town he is run off the road and is seriously injured. He becomes much closer to Edith and the children as he is forced to stay in town.

A journey of two loving hearts thrown together by two sweet little babies. God has a plan for these two even though the journey is full of twists and turns. God has a plan for you too. He can get you out of the mess you find yourself in if you will only surrender yourself and give Him control.

Operation Rescue by Glenda Parker

Today I want to introduce you to my new book, Operation Rescue. This is the second book in my C.R.O.S.S. Investigations Series. I really enjoyed writing this book although it is a difficult subject to write about.( A few of the characters are based on my grandsons and I had a great deal of fun with them.) This book is about human trafficking. This is an epidemic in our country right now especially in the Mid-West and rural areas. We have always felt like we were safe from the horrors that go on in cities but that is not the way it is any more. We need to pray over our children where ever they go. We need to make sure they are in groups and not walking alone at night. These predators are everywhere. They want young girls and boys, the younger the better. Watch your children with care.

C.R.O.S.S. is called out to rescue a young woman, Joi Stillman, that had disappeared in Ecuador with her two friends on a mission trip six months ago. They later discover the location of the other two girls. These women are rescued at the point of death but their kidnapper is out there trying to keep them from telling the authorities any information.

Can C.R.O.S.S. keep the girls safe and find the monster who took them and tortured them for six months? Can these young women ever hope to live a normal life or will they blame the God they serve? How far up is this ring going to go? God has a plan for these girls. He never left them but protected them when they should have been killed. God has a plan for you too! It's a plan of peace and not of evil to give you a hope and a future. It will e far greater than you ever imagined.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Mirror Image. This is one of the SWAT:Top Cop Series. I have really enjoyed this series about SWAT teams. Laura has a great way of dealing with this group. She is a great writer. This book is well written, action packed and full of adventure. I also love how she deals with the faith issue through out this book.

SWAT Officer Jenna Reed returns home after a long day and is attacked in front of her house. She would have been kidnapped if it hadn't been for her lieutenant going by and rescuing her. They find a look-alike hidden in the bushes could this be the real victim? It seems Jenna has a sister she never knew about. The sister had come to her for help as a human trafficking gang is after her.

Lieutenant Griff Vaughn rescues his team member but when the human trafficking thugs come after them he has no choice but to take the girls and go on the run. Griff has always been attracted to his beautiful co-worker. Can he save her and her sister without destroying his already broken heart?

This is a journey of two broken people, three actually. Life had not been good to them, can they learn to trust again? They are forced into a situation where they must trust not only each other but the God who holds all the answers. God has a plan for these two. God has a plan for you to you just need to believe and let Him work in your life.
