In Want of a Wife by Shanae Johnson

My review today is on the Romance, In Want of a Wife. This is book one in the series, A Pemberley Ranch Romance. I'm a big fan of Shanae's work. I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next book in this series. This story is humorous, well-written, and totally delightful. I know you are going to love it.

Collin Hundford didn't understand people, especially women. He understood his horses; why couldn't people be more like horses. He asked a woman out for two dates then went to a meal at her family home. There he proposed to Elizabeth in front of the family. Isn't that how it was supposed to be done? When she turns him down he is totally confused. He explains how she had given him the same signs a mare would give a stallion. (I loved that part) Her father asks him to leave. He must have a wife to receive his inheritance so he asks Charlotte Lee, Elizabeth's best friend instead.

Orphan Charlotte Lee wants to be a horse trainer. She has finished school and come home believing that Mr. Bennet would offer her his trainer's job but he hired someone else. Brokenhearted she accepts Collin's proposal for a business partnership marriage. She knows her best friend won't like it but she really had no choice. She can't live at her aunts any longer.

A delightful journey of two basic strangers as they navigated this engagement and then marriage.

Is this shooter from the trial today or from her husband's murder five years ago?

Bounty Hunter Leon Briggs has worked for Cassie for several years. He has had her back as long as he has been there. He has managed to keep his feelings hidden from her. He finds her and helps her escape the two shooters. The police help them but Leon is sure that the danger isn't over yet.

Kerrick by Dale Mayer

My review today is on the Military Suspense, Kerrick. This is the first book in the series, The Mavericks. I really like Dale's books but I was disappointed that he did have a sex scene (although not a graphic one) hidden in the middle of the book. I really liked the storyline, the action scenes, and the characters. I just like his clean books better but I do recommend this book.

Navy SEAL Kerrick Cassidy has come to a time of change. Does he stay in the SEALs when all the rules and people have changed or does he try to find a new purpose in life? He's thirty-four and the old guy on the team. Can he trust all these new guys with his back and all the changes in the rules? Suddenly he receives a phone call that changes everything. He is given a chance to do a black op like he never has before. He's to find a scientist that has been kidnapped. He has an unlimited budget and all the info he can dream of asking.

Scientist Amanda Berg has just found the cure for breast cancer. She is ready to begin human trials when she is kidnapped and kept in a cold, dark, prison cell. She's kept there being drugged each time she's fed. Her boss comes into her cell and tells her her notes are corrupt. She hears a morse code message coming from above her cell, a ten-year-old boy. She manages to get out of her cell and rescue the boy. They run into Kerrick and his fellow Maverick, Griffin.

An amazing journey to escape the men that have captured these two and to find out why but also to help the other people that were also kept in the sanitarium.
