Hopeful Cowboy: A Mulbury Boys Novel by Elana Johnson

My review today is on the Romance , Hopeful Cowboy: A Mulbury Boys Novel. This is book one in the Hope Eternal Ranch Romance Series. I enjoyed this book. I have never read any of Elana's work before but I really liked this one and look forward to reading more of her books. The story is well written and heartwarming. I know you are going to love it.
Nathaniel Mulbury is in prison on a white collar crime. He has done everything he can to not cause trouble so he can get out as soon as possible. One day he is called into the office and his whole world is turned upside down. He is told his beloved brother has died and has left him everything including his four year old son. They are giving him an early release but he must go to a ranch that will be a halfway house for him and the child. Nate doesn't know how to be a cowboy or a father but he is willing to learn. His only concern is the beautiful woman that will be in charge of him. He has no time for a woman in his life.
Ginger Talbot had taken  convicts before, one turned out to steal her money and almost got the ranch. She's not sure what to do about the attraction she feels for Nate. She will not be hurt again. There is something different about Nate though and who could help but fall for that adorable little boy.
A great journey of second chances. God has a plan for these three; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Make Him Lord in your life and He will get you through these trying times.

We Go On by Regina Walker

My review today is on the Christian novel, We Go On. I was sent this book to read. The review is all my own. I liked the book. It is well written, heartbreaking, and heartwarming. It was kind of hard to read because I went through the death of a child. My daughter was bi-polar and tried to commit suicide more times than I can count. I have seen the inside of every mental ward in the state of Nebraska. The ironic part is the drug that finally killed her was purely accidental and at a time when she had got her life turned around and was doing well. A shock to me just like to this mother. We do have to go on.
Elizabeth Miller comes home from buying groceries only to find her twenty-one year old son hanging from a tree in the back yard. She manages to cut the rope and call for help. Her son is alive when he is taken to the hospital but dies soon after. Liz blames God for her son's death she also blames herself for not being there for him.
Josh Miller rushes home to find his son alive but in bad shape. He tries to be there for his wife but he can't seem to console her. He calls family and the pastor come and prays with them. He is convinced God will save him. The doctors rear if he survives he will never be able to function. After his death Josh tries to care for his wife and son but it seems to be of no affect. He can't help but blame Cody.
Sixteen year old Tyler Miller goes through all the funeral and trying to pick up the pieces of his family. He blames himself for not being with his brother that night. He had snuck out to party with his friends. He tries to get his mom to come back to life with them. It's a hard struggle as she refuses to function.
A terrible journey through the valley of the shadow of death. God has a plan to bring this family back together. A plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil.

Christmas in Shotgun Ridge by Mindy Neff

My review today is on the Romance, Christmas in Shotgun Ridge. This is number eight in the series Bachelors of Shotgun Ridge. I really enjoyed this book my only fault is there is a couple of sex scenes.
They are not something I like to read about. Otherwise I really liked the book. It is well written and Mindy handled the past abuse issue in good taste.
Clay Callahan road out in the direction of his neighbor'a ranch and found her at the feet of her prized bull. She had been stepped on by her pet bull. Clay got the doctor on his way and held her till help came. He had been in love with this woman for years. He didn't care if she wanted help or not she was going to have it. He would take care of everything.
Cherry Peyton was putting out a salt block when something startled her bull. She didn't get out of the way in time. She ended up with a bad cut and possible fracture on her leg and several broken ribs. The doctor came but she refused to go to the clinic. She didn't have money for that. Chance and  Clay took her to her home and treated her wounds. Much to her horror Clay stayed to help her with her chores since the doctor refused to allow her to put weight on her leg. She was ashamed to have Clay and his family see her shabby ranch. His family and the whole town showed up to help her. Why? She had isolated herself since she had moved here with her abusive husband. She didn't want anyone to know her shame. She soon found out every one knew and wanted to help her but her pride kept getting in the way. How was she suppose to handle the sexy cowboy that moved in and took over her life?
An awesome journey of trying to heal not only physically but emotionally.
