Killer Exposure by Jessica R. Patch

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Killer Exposure. I really enjoy Jessica's books. She has a special way with suspense. This story is well written, action packed, and is appropriate for this season of storms and tornadoes we are having. I know you are going to love it.
Deputy Greer Montgomery is a single mother of a baby girl. She works as a crime scene photographer but she also works as a photographer. She is out in the middle of a field taking pictures for the chamber of commerce. The Stellar Entertainment is setting up a week-long spring fest. She clicks a few photos before the storm starts to move in. She wanders through the employee's trailers when she witnesses a murder. The killer gets away but she chases him and ends in hand to hand combat. She is rescued by her ex, the father of her secret child. Can she keep him from finding out about the baby? He had told her he didn't want kids. Why should she worry?
Storm chaser Locklin Gallagher, Locke is out taking photos of the storm moving in when he sees a man chasing a woman. He steps in to help and finds the only woman he has ever loved. He's not sure why she broke his heart but figures it's his fault because he lost control one night. He's over her though, right? When he tries to protect her he finds that the reason she left him was a little girl named after him. Can he keep his two girls safe and find a way to make them his family?

Wagon Train Baby by Linda Ford

My review today is on the Christian Historical Novel, Wagon Train Baby. This is the first book in the Love on the Santa Fe Trail Series. I have always enjoyed Linda's stories. This one is excellent. I really like marriage of convenience stories so I was excited to get it. This story is well written, heartwarming, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
Donna Grace Clark finds herself in a terrible situation. She had married what she thought was a good man only to find out he had lied to her and he was already married. He and his real wife are prancing around town and everyone is talking about Donna Grace as her pregnancy becomes more noticeable. She arranges for her sister, her father, and herself to go on a wagon train to Santa Fe where she had grown up. At the last minute her father refuses to go. The wagon master comes and tells her she can't go on the train. Women must be married or accompanied by their father or brother. The girls discuss what their options are but Donna Grace refuses to stay in this town. A man comes to her and offers to marry her and give the baby a name. The marriage will be in name only.
Luke Russell couldn't help hearing the wagon master and the girls discussing the situation. Luke felt like he had failed his beloved and this could be a way to atone for that. His brother has lost his wife and child maybe this is a way to him too. The woman had been badly treated he could help her.  He makes the offer and marries the girl before evening is over. He'll be all that she and the baby needs. Then he will let her go.
A horrendous journey to cross the wilderness. Faith in God and trust in each other will have to be enough for this group. God has a plan for them a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you to, thoughts of peace, and not for evil, to give you an expected end. You must give Him your heart to see Him work in your life.

Rescue 12 Responding by Faye Hamilton

I was unable to post my review yesterday as I had a houseful of great-grand kids, so I will post today.
My review today is on the Christian Thriller, Rescue 12 Responding. I was sent this book to read, the review is in my own words and is my own thoughts. This book reminded me a lot of the book I am writing. In my books I write about the angels that are working in the unseen realm to help us and guide us. I have demons but didn't think of naming them. I really liked the work that was done on this story. I especially liked when hopelessness slithered through a crack in David's mind and surrounded it. What an awesome way to put it. This book is well written, the names of the demonic characters will take your breath away. This is a must read for all believers.
David and Jonathan are paramedics and are called to a party of teenagers who have received uncut cocaine. there are four teenagers lying in the living room. Three are cold and dead but one girl is still warm to the touch but she wasn't breathing and had no pulse. They shocked her and finally got a pulse. They rushed her to the hospital. She awoke and told David about how God had saved her and her trip to heaven. She leads him to the Lord. David feels a difference and shares with his partner, this is when his life is turned upside down. The girls mother gives David a Bible and talks with him. She continues to pray for him as he goes back out into the world. A heavenly force goes with him but Death and the other spirits refuse to let go of him.
It's an awesome journey to find answers to his question as he is forced to grow quickly as all the forces of hell are trying to destroy him. I know you are going to love it.

Hannah follows the trail and soon Nathaniel catches up with her. Can they find the child?

Canadian Armed Forces Corporal Nick Henry is riding in a train when he feels a hand trying to take his service revolver. The hand belonged to a small boy with wide green eyes and a messy mop of red curls, much like the woman he once loved. " Are you really a soldier?" the boy asked. "I need to borrow your gun so I can protect my mom." Zander said. Nick goes to find the boy's mother only to find the only woman he ever loved in the hands of evil men. He broke a promise to her once, he won't do that again. He soon learns this child is his. Can he save them? Family is everything.

Winter Curse by Mary Stone

My review today is on the thriller, Winter Curse. This is the second book in the Winter Black Series. For all my followers I must tell you this is not a Christian novel. There is some foul language, it's not excessive.  This story is well written, action packed and full of intrigue.
Winter Black is assigned a new case. She is to work with her least favorite agent in the office, Sun Ming. Sun is the head of the investigation and wants nothing to do with Winter or her strange way of solving with her cases. Sun has received a text guiding her in her investigation. The investigation turns from a simple bank robbery into a series of infamous copy cat robberies; although with the robbers add their own twist. Winter can't control her gift and there  comes a time when they are forced to go their separate ways. Sun is furious when Winter intuition is correct and Sun's left with egg on her face. Can they come back together and work as a team? Winter is drawn to two men; one she works with and one has been a part of her life since her family were murdered. How is she to deal with her relationships with them?
You won't be able to put this book down, it's filled with twists and turns. You'll love this book and won't be able to wait for the next story.

I didn't really care for Lady Hawisa in the first book but I did in this one as she became a more vulnerable character. As an author I can't imagine how hard it is to write these two stories in parallel and keep all the details straight. This book is well written, action packed, and full of adventure. I can't wait for the next story.
Saxon Lady Hawisa lost her Norman husband to the war. Now after another battle she is searching for her young son. As she searches all the dead bodies she is attacked and almost ravished. She is rescued by a young silver haired Norman. He takes her into the woods to keep her safe. For his trouble he is set upon by a band of Saxons and taken captive. Isa finds her dead son and goes into mourning. When she comes unto herself she finds that her rescuer is held and being tortured. She helps him but doesn't turn him loose. She is afraid of the man's brothers. She finds herself drawn to the man but there is no hope for a future between them. She is the leader of the Saxons a warrior. She is a Wulfrith and doesn't need a man. She must hold onto her lands.
Sir Guarin D'Argent fought in the battle and is now searching for his uncle and his brothers. He sees a woman being attacked and takes off to rescue her. She is uncooperative so he knocks her unconscious to save her. He takes he to the woods to hide her from the looters. He is captured, beaten and tortured. They hold him for almost two years. During this time he is drawn to Hawisa the rebel leader. He must keep her safe from her own man who is trying to destroy her and take over her rebels.
A journey of deception, lies, and secrets. The Normans have won the war but the Saxon refuse to be conquered. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Trust Him, He loves you and God is good.
