The Sheriff's Guns by Will Johnston

My review today is on the western, The Sheriff's Guns. For my followers, this isn't a Christian book. There is some language and violence but it is a great read.  Its well written, full of action and drama. I know you are going to love it.

Rick Arneson takes a job as a sheriff. On the day he arrives in town he breaks up a fight. He's told that he is never going to make it here. The mayor tells him he (the mayor) will keep his own badge just in case. He doesn't want Rick to be to hard on the men. It's not good for business. Rick faces rustlers, banditos, and Apaches. The town is split down the middle; Mexicans on one side and the Anglos on the other. The only good thing in town is the little woman that works in the saloon, Smashed Glass Sally (when men get fresh she slams a glass over their head.)

Victor Fierro wants his land back. He'll do anything to make that happen. He sees himself as a soldier and doesn't care who gets hurt in war as long as he gets his land back. He has manage to spit the town and cause a civil war.

Sally Ziegleris trapped in the saloon. Her father's ranch was attacked and he was shot in the head. He's alive but just barely. They have lost everything and now live in a shack. The only job in town is at the saloon but she doesn't go upstairs. She is drawn to the new sheriff.

A dangerous journey that looks hopeless. Everyone is against the sheriff but he won't give up.
